Like the title says,is mate 7 worth buying in 2017?Found a pretty cheap used mate 7,but is it still reliable? Hows the battery life, camera, charging ports, signal? Thanks in advance
It depends how much that phone was used. Mine still doing the job pretty well & almost 3 years since I have the phone. It's a solid phone.
I have m7-tl10 gold version with 3gb ram. Battery life it's still good, camera decent, signal ok, charging port ok. I didn't made the upgrade to marshmallow, I still have Lolipop, I didn't feel the need to update and I saw other users had some problems after the update.
I don't do gaming like in the past, but I think most of the games are working on this phone.
Better off looking for a ZTE Axon 7 than a Mate 7.
I have Oppo Find 7, Huawei Mate 7 and ZTE Axon 7.
The Axon smokes the other two!

My priorities are , Performance and longevity !! , good Camera , Solid build (Durability) , and Battery.
But I also want a good and Sharp display, good loudspeakers !!For Multimedia
I know that this is a lot to expect from a 400$ smartphone but I just want the best bang for bucks not that Perfect as flagships!!
I've found myself stuck with Oneplus 3 , Xiaomi Mi 5s, Honor 8 , Axon 7 and Zenfone 3 !!
it's very difficult for me to choose please help me , if there is another smartphone that you consider better please tell me !!

I had LG g4 prior to my honor 8, and I can't be happier right now for the money I spent on my honor 8. This phone beats LG g4 in every way in my honest opinion. I also had LG v20 for about couple weeks and I can even argue that this phone is better than LG v20 in many ways. I don't know where you live and how much you will have to spend to buy honor 8, I got mine less than $300 on a promotion with wireless headsets and gift cards. True cost of my honor 8 was about $200. You might wanna think about dollar to dollar value for your options. Some might argue that axon 7 is better, but at the end, honor 8 was the best for my buck. Five things about this phone competes with any other flagship device on the market right now.
1 Look and feel.
2 Cameras
3 Battery life (you can easily get 5-6 hours of screen time)
4 Performance. Especially, app opening and multi tasking.
5 Fingerprint sensor speed and accuracy.
The rest is just average.

I'm not going to write you a story,if you are ok to wait two moths for a phone, then go on oneplus.net and buy the oneplus 3t.
If you dont want to wait,go for Honor 8.
Axon 7 is good too,but i dont knkw where you can get it.
No Zenfone 3,i wanted it too but there are NO CUSTOM ROM!!!
The Honor 8 is a much better device than the LG G4. As it runs on the much more powerful HiSilicon Kirin 950 SOC, which is much more power than the Snapdragon 808 of the LG G4.

The only advantages for the LG G4 are in camera, as it can record 4K. And display which is 1440p
oneplus would be my choice

That is true! Those are the only things the LG G4 have a step up on the Honor 8. But the camera on the Honor 8 isn't too shabby either.

Same here! I have 4K video recording capabilities on my Note 4 and I've never used it once.
I know it looks like this question has been asked before, but most of the answers revolve around OnePlus 3T being cheaper. But for some reason they cost the same in my country. so i want to know which one you'd choose if they were the same price.
I would really like to have the bigger screen of Mate 9, but I've heard that Huawei phones are not durable and will have lower performance after a while. is this true? this is a very important factor for me because i wont be able to buy another phone anytime soon, so i'll have to do with it for a time (preferably more than 2 years!).
Thank you ladies an gentlemen in advance for all your wise advice!

Are you kidding me about Huawei durability? Also, lower performance? After a while??? Bro, I don't think you are talking about the Mate 9. https://youtu.be/-x7s_amjJso
The only thing OP3T has over the Mate 9 to me is development (custom ROMs) cos of the Qualcomm SoC, Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 960 is a beast but lacks outside support.
Being a security enthusiast, I want to have things like Kali Linux installed which I unfortunately can't.
Other than this reason, it's a smack down by Mate 9 over OP3T in every department (I don't care about OLED screens, this is just fine).

Thank you my friend. As i said, this is just something I've heard people say, and people who have only had mid-range Huawei phones. I am glad to hear that this is not the case with Mate 9. I'm not too worried about my security, and if the UI is fine (and it seems to be), i have no problem with not being able to install custom ROMs.
Thank you for helping me decide!
I had the OnePlus 3 not the 3t and I made the switch to the mate 9 and I have no regrets. The mate 9 is a super phone. The OnePlus is for ppl who likes to flash roms and I tried them all until I eventually got tired because it's more of the same. I love the battery on the mate 9! It all depends on what the user wants.
I switched from oneplus 3t.
Bigger screen, bigger battery, camera is way better. Custom ROMS? I`m fine with mate 9 rooted debloated stock
No I definetely dont regret about my oneplus 3t
Mate 9 easily. Bigger screen, bigger battery, faster charge, micro SD support. I've had both.
3T IS faster with 6 GB ram ( Comparitively I have 6GB Chinese model rebranded to USA of mate 9) but Battery life on 3T stinks compared to mate 9.
I think Mate 9 is still better than the last Oneplus 5.

I have had the mate 9 for almost 3 months. I came from a LG G4 and it is a beast. I almost bought an op3t but the battery life and not overheating made me buy this phone. For me that was a must even playing high demanding games it runs cold.
Coming from an OP3, first I wanted to go back to my OP3, but gave the Mate 9 a chance.
After using the M9 for a week I couldn't go back...

I went from the mate 9 to theOnePlus 3T via the G6 and the GS8. Put it this way: if the mate 9 had wifi calling (Tmobile), I would have never gotten any of the other phones I list. It's that good.
I came to the Mate 9 from the OnePlus 5, and the only thing I miss is the front-facing fingerprint sensor
First, forgive me if this isnt the correct place to post this question. I am in the market for a new phone. I currently have a 6s+ and it is tapping out. I am with Metro PCS so I buy my phones outright. If money weren't an issue I would do the Mate 10 or Note 8, but it is and so here I am. Please give me opinions on the best phone to get from my list. My biggest concerns would be making sure the camera is on par with what I have and the processor. I think the Mate 9 has a better/faster processor but not sure if it is much difference from the other two. Also I don't see the difference in the Honor 7x and the Mate 10 lite spec wise.
Thanks
as you can see at my profile, i own both models Honor 7 and Mate 9.
I prefer Mate 9 because of the bigger screen and the better battery and performance.
The Mate 9 will get OREO update in the near future!!!
Unfortunately the firmware of Honor 7 is no longer updated!!!
So the fw is affected of the BT & W-Lan security issue.
This can be fixed only if Phone is rooted and running with a custom rom.
At my opinion, the LG G5 (changable battery!)or G6 are also very interesting and inexpensive phones.

It's Honor 7X, not Honor 7. Released december 2017
I would personally look at the oneplus 5t if budget is good

didn’t use my glasses, sorry! Post deleted!
Hi guys
3 month ago, I was looking for a new smartphone.
I fall in love with the honor 8 but I couldn't find anything under 250€...And 200€ was a limit value to me. I don't want any smartphone with a higher price than this (I m a poor guy )
Anyway, since I couldn't find nothing, I started to look around and found out a Huawei Nova2 for just 180€ ?
It came, and I love the phone!!
But suddenly, yesterday, I saw a honor 8 for... Wait for it...
120€!!!
I couldn't resist... I just bought it!
Now I'm waiting for the delivery ? but I just can't figure out if I have made the right decision... The nova 2 is really good and newer... Who knows if it gonna get the Android P OS...
What do you think? Honor 8 is still superior to the nova 2?
Or should I try to sell it right away for a higher price?
Help me out please
Thanks

The Honor 8 is far better than the Nova 2. It may be older, but it's a much better phone with very good performance. I'd suggest sticking with the Honor 8. At that price, it's a pure bargain.
Hi guys.
I'm planning of buying this phone (I have an Honor 8, great phone, but its very broken so it's time to say goodbye).
I've been watching reviews and stuff for this phone and looks very good but i have some questions.
(Instagram): Does the effects work?
My honor 8 has lag when trying to follow up my face and I think that the Realme and Honor 8 dosen't have that much difference hardware wise. (I'm not that expert)
Is it a good deal changing my Honor 8 to a Realme 5 or should i buy another one? (Budget 200€)
