how to completely degoogle - HTC U11 Questions & Answers

is there any rom that will completely get rid of google? i tried viper and the play store was still there
i just don't want any gapps

To my knowledge, the only real true way is to root and flash an aosp rom (if available). They usually don't include Google apps unless you flash a gapps zip file. I hope that helps

just delete google play services and playstore manually.

There's a fork of lineage os that removes the google framework. There was an article on xda a bit ago. Anyway, here's the project page (https://lineage.microg.org/) and here's the article (https://www.xda-developers.com/unofficial-lineageos-built-in-microg-avoid-google-services/)

[Q] Lost Google Play Services by accident and can't get them back

Hi
Stupid me! On my rooted Moto G 1st gen (XT-2032) 4.4.4, I managed to remove the Google Play Services while trying to integrate their update in the Rom via TitaniumBackup. Not the Services are gone, and most of the Google apps will abort immediately with an error.
I have tried something already: I have downloaded Google Play Services 6.1.83 apk (variant 036) and installed it, turned it into a system app, but while Google Keep now launches well, Google Maps or Google Play still immediately abort.
Is there anything I missed? And is there a way to restore the Services correctly without needing to flash a stock firmware on the phone?
Thanks for the help.
if you have unlocked bootloader, try flash the google play services from gapps, there are a package with play services

Yes I the bootloader is unlocked. Can you please elaborate your method?
Not sure it is the same, but I already installed (not flashed!) this file gappsearly.com/google-apps/google-play-services/summary/31-google-play-services/359-google-play-services.html
Is that what you meant?
Thanks
Try flash with cwm this file

Thanks, I tried and seemed to succeed but in fact, the GPServices are now in an awkward state : The only place where they appear now is in Titanium backup, but stroken-through, and I can't uninstall them from them. And the other Gapps report the services as missing.... It seems I will have to reflash all the same
can you delete play services apk from system?
try again and flash the play services, but its a weird problem :/

[FIX] Uncertified Google Play Store

Here is a little workaround to fix the "Not Certified" Play Store in Custom ROMs...
- install the following App from Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evozi.deviceid
- open the App and Copy the "Google Service Framework (GSF)"-number
- go to following page and pass the number in the field at Bottom of the page and click on register
https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/
- go to Settings/Apps and clear data from Play Store
- reboot to TWRP and wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
Reboot and your device is certified
If you are not able to use Play Store you can get the app here:

ok, thanks for that guide. But why should i do that? is there any disadvantage having an "uncertified" device? I mean.. i am able to get updates and all apps i want without certifying it
There are other people that are unable to use Play Store or update there apps since Google blocked these kind of modified devices...
Worked for me. Simply Register and Clear the Play store app data. No need to boot in to twrp.
No, it doesn't work
Not work.

Bro i think Google has a certain criteria to certify device, one must has to install minimum amount of Google apps specified by them.
I flashed Aroma & only flashed following gapps
core gapps
Calender
calculator
camera
Chrome
drive
Gmail
maps
photos
phone
google play music
YouTube.
I might be missing some apps like duo etc. to get my device eligible for certification?
which apps you flashed.
Just clear Google play store data
And make sure That safetynet passed in your device
FACTS: Don't use Xposed. Only Magisk. If your rom had root , like in lineageos, then google play might not be certified. But if magisk is installed, you might actually pass. It's not always this case thou
Don't use xposed just use magisk pass safety net and then hide playstore with magisk hide then clear cache and data of playstore app
And most imp reboot before opening playstore second time
BAMM there u go certified

Just download the Google play apk off a trusted site (i.e xda). Then the other apps off Google play.. Unless the update wipes data.. No you do not have to reinstall.
If you do have a system wipe, just keep Google play apk on your ex SD card.
Enjoy

Thanks for you reply, much appreciated, I was wondering however do i need to also install google framework, services etc, as i a have read simply installing play store on a Chinese version is not enough and a number of google installers exist like gms core, however there seems to be a number of people complaining of compatibility problems therefor i was wondering if when my phone comes, i would have major probs installing google apps.
initially i was simply hoping to flash a official stock eu rom, however someone on this forum said that would void warranty, which i was surprised because coming from back to back Samsungs, flashing a stock ROM of another region was not a problem as it was official.
thanks
There I believe if you download those APK.. All that will be included
Like Facebook.. It's all included
You will have to install Google games or other Google related stuff individually... If something is needed Google will tell you, then just go to play and install.
My pleasure to help... Let me know if you need further assistance.
As for honors warranty policy... That's their call, I myself come from a long line of Samsung's.
Yes they are more flash friendly.
Other than that..idk
Good luck cheers

GMS Installer 100% works for Huawei Mate30/Mate30 Pro

Hi all
Download the GMS Installer and install the APK, open the app, and press One Touch Installation, your device will automatically reboot and automatically install Google Play Services in Huawei eRecovery.
After your device booting back into system, check in Apps if the Google Play Services installed correctly.
After that, you can download the rest from APKMirror : Google Account Manager, Google Calendar Sync, Google Contacts Sync, Google Play Store, and Google Services Framework. Keep in mind you should download version that fit to your android version.
You can even update the Google Play Services to the latest version using the apk's from APKMirror, don't worry it will works.
That's it!

Will this method help with any known issues? Like installing Netflix, copying Google account from phone to watch, etc
Or does it do the same thing thing as restoring Google apps from backup(with HiSuite and lzplay)?

No one has replied yet, who knows if it does! I don’t think it changes for Netflix!
I have included GMS through old method USB, i have no issue at all except the security (Netflix, Google pay...)
Any difference?
From other threads, this app just installs a messaging app, take a look here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81568945&postcount=5
The 2 links are different, be careful, see pic below.
Even the GM's installer looks like it is just a cover for an app called com.tyq.pro. Please be careful, could do with someone who can analyse the files better than me to check. It just seems to be everywhere.

Guys, installing GMS one way or the other if using the proper files and not some dodgy messaging app will have the same end result. Our Mate 30 pro's are still flagged @ google as not being certified. At the end its the same old same GMS you install. I would be extremely carefully with what you download/install on your phones...We still don't know which "backdoors" if any are being installed with the so called restore hack.
Didn't fix any of the problems.

Installing play store without other google apps

Hello has anyone got a way working for this phone to install just the Google Play Store (and play services given those will probably be needed for it to work) without having to install a bunch of extra apps in the process?
I'm aware gapps packages exist but those usually override many AOSP variants of apps and introduce features which I don't need.
Choose a Vanilla AOSP rom.

Vanilla AOSP don't come with anything google at all, what I'm asking is that from that starting point how would I go about installing the Google Play Store and whatever else it needs to work on it.
For example with Nikgapps choose core
