Hi, I am going to have a BERLIN-L24 soon.
I would like to know how stable the custom Rom for N.
How's the camera quality in custom Rom?
Thank you.
Camera quality is worse than stock due missing camera (and other stuff) sources. Roms looks kinda stable except some bug, make a trip on 6X's roms section to read a bit about

I have flashed some AOSP ROMs like CM and Kang and the although the camera works the quality of pictures especially in low light is terrible.
I have tested a couple of times taking pictures with CM and then the same picture with stock Sense. The ASOP pictures come out with a greenish hue.
This leads to my question, is this something the Devs can improve with time or is this a trade-off of not using a ROM based on the Sense framework?

It can be improved, but there are much more important things to do/fix as of now. And it may require a lot of work. It is at the bottom of a lot of developer's lists.
yeah I totally respect the Devs work and for the most part just wondered if it was technically possible.
thanks for the answer.
Will wait patiently..lol
Same I am very thankful to the Dev's.
Curiously though, so it seems that my best bet is to root my phone but to keep the stock ICS android on it becuase otherwise I lose sense4 and the supposedly better camera software htc preinstalled on it?
Thanks so much! cheers.

If you like sense, then stick with the Sense-based ROMs. As for the camera, the hardware is still fully capable of taking the same quality pictures whether you are using AOSP or Sense ROMs.
The camera software is different in AOSP and may not have all of the features included in Sense (yet) and the picture quality might be a little worse off in AOSP, but the AOSP ROMs are still in alpha. The developers are working hard to create a stable, fully functional AOSP ROM... it's just going to take a little time. It doesn't hurt to try the AOSP roms out and see for yourself, just don't expect everything to be working flawlessly.
Hi,
I'm looking for some kind of custom rom which does not have video bug(out of sync or low framerate). I'm a noob, I've read some threads in development section and I've found that even some stable roms have issues with video recording. So I wonder if there is a single rom which doesn't have that issues. (I am afraid that all CM based roms will have some issues related to video, am I right?).
Basically I need stable, battery savy rom without wifi/video bug. Responsive UI would be nice.
I don't need super fast games or other extra features.
I'm kind of OK with 2.3.6, there are some applications which work only for Android 4.0 and above versions, that's why I want to switch, that's all.
I'm living in Europe if that matters.
I know that "best rom" threads are not liked here, but it's quite hard to find proper rom, unfortunately I couldn't find many I9003 related forums with opinions about roms.

You can try qwerty cm10 rom
Its stable and fast with some cool features
All of the cyanogen mod based roms have video recording issues only at 720p
SD (480p) recording is fine
Good Realy Good Rom...:good:
Hi guys, I'm writing in the name of my girlfriend: she has got this phone and, after we have flashed a cm rom, the camera sucks. I know camera is usually better in stock rom but this time the difference is abysmal! The problem is: she doesn't want to downgrade to stock rom (stock rom presents the SoD and ridiculous battery performance) but she would a better camera. I suggested open camera, a better camera and other ones but photos quality is still really poor. I think the real problem is the rom. Is there any mode porting stock camera (libraries, I think) to cm roms? Thanks for your attention

Stock rom's camera works only on TouchWiz roms...so it won't work on AOSP based roms

In galaxy grand duos thread have some mods for camera that improve camera quality in my opinion
I am looking rom that will be stable, fast and efficient gaming. I do not expect additives to modify the appearance and so on. Interested only clean roms that are a reflection of the pure system from Google, without any additional options. Rom that is worthy of interest that the best to upload?
If you really care about pure system from Google, I think you should go with Marshmallow. Nougat roms are not so stable and you lose several features like HDR.
crDroid, but wait until it gets fixed, LTE is so fvcked up cuz a idiot pulling ****s
Pure nexus & everything works perfectly, no bugs at all.The most fast & fluid rom to date.
So for the time being refrain from installing nougat?
Or how about this ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/wip-aosp-nougat-nexus-5-t3446875 ?
Hey everyone,
I am bit confused with all these custom roms available for Honor8.So I would like to ask you which rom do you think is stable enough for daily usage and why?Are there any problems/bugs?
Thanks in advance

There's no stable custom roms for H8 at all. A lots of bugs, like cameras not working. You should stay on stock

As they said.
I've tried almost all of them and the closest to stable i got was AOSPA which crashed and rebooted randomly when using the GPS.
The Remix Resurrection/Lineage based ROMs would lock me out whenever I had a passcode turned on. What ever it tried to do after unlocking would crash and spit me right back out to the lockscreen.
Hopefully, the Oreo update comes soon, and, hopefully, it comes with Treble so that the Devs will be able to get the ROMs working flawlessly.
I don't know what these guys are talking about, but I've been using CarbonROM as a daily driver for several months now. I have working Magisk, working cameras, working basically everything - except for VoLTE. Though I've heard the VoLTE bug is only applicable for my model (FRD-L04), so you might not even have that. Give it a shot if you want, it's worked fine for me other than the VoLTE.

You failed to mention the camera is sub par on that, and every single custom ROM because it only uses one of the back cameras. All the nougat ROMs have simple bugs that the "developers" have failed to fix because they give up.

Well yeah, it's a custom ROM - of course the devs don't have access to Huawei's proprietary camera drivers. That's not a bug, it's just the nature of custom ROMs. If OP wanted the best of the best camera quality, they would stick with stock, but since they asked for the most stable ROM that people knew of, I recommended one whose developers had indeed worked out the majority of the issues to where I could only identify one minor one from my months of use.
I used customs roms for the shortest amount of time as daily drivers because the battery life really was bad, sound quality didn't flash me (not even with V4A) and the camera is truly sh*t on custom roms too.
If you aren't one of those people who really can't live without stock Android then stay on stock, we'll probably get Oreo or at least EMUI 8 soon.
