C185 OEMINFO Extraction - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

So guys, like many of you, I messed up my device and now I found a friend with same model. I can extract OEMINFO from the device if someone tell me the exact procedure of doing this. Please guide me. I need to go back to stock as soon as possible.

Yes you can via same command but just use relock instead of lock OEM but it will erase data. Dload will not relock but it will lock so not a problem and not data erase also.

Command seems to be the easy way... thanks

what happened ? how u messed it ?

To extract it, with the help of a root explorer, (like MiXplorer, Total Command, ecc.) go to root/dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/by-name, and in this folder you'll find "oeminfo" file. Copy it elsewhere, it'll be around 66MB; zip it, and it'll become only 160KB

Thats System file under root directory. Even adb wont work with root for this. You can try multi tool as given in debranding guide

You run that tool via pc and not as a phone app, so you won't need root for opening an update.app with Huawei Multi Tool

Ok thanks for letting me know... I thought Multitool needed root to extract OEMINFO from device... This was a huge problem for me coz my friend is far away from me and he's too noob that he can't even get Product ID by dialing the code...(for BL unlock code)
I would already have done it yesterday if I knew that Multitool didn't need root...
These instructions:
"Unlock your bootloader, flash custom recovery and root"
In this guide:
made me think root was necessary.

I still thinks its needed but still you can copy via multi tool. However, you wilp get prompt on multi tool that su not found. But yeah it generates a copyof oeminfo. Have tested this but as have done lot of trails so can not say 100% if it will work. Can go with this without a problem

Please help me - relock bootloader

Hey,
I had unlock my bootloader and root my z5.
Now I want to back to lock bootloader so I downgrade to MARSHMALO and use iovyroot (tarestore.bat) to restore my ta backup and still the phone is unlocked.
There is any chance that I did something wrong?
I look everywhere but I couldnt find something helpful.
Please help me

Your thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/help/warranty-problem-please-help-t3393053
says that you backed up TA *after* unlocking the phone. If that's true, your TA backup is completely useless, and that's why you can't re-lock.
The right way to do it was to backup your TA partition using an older Z5 firmware (I downgraded to .152 from .200 if I remember) BEFORE unlocking your bootloader.
You should have a "TA.img" or "DK.ftf" backed up somewhere containing your TA partition/DRM keys if you did it right. You flash that .ftf file using Flashtool to restore your TA parititon once you've upgraded your phone to the latest firmware

You MUST downgrade with flashtool (1) to a Lollipop build .200 (iovyroot temporary root works only on that) and then (2) restore TA.img backup you have (your personal backup from YOUR phone) using tarestore.bat from iovyroot .zip you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/iovyroot-temp-root-tool-t3349597
As said there:
"Flash stock firmware from flashtool (supported by iovyroot) (you are now unrooted)
Use tarestore.bat from iovyroot"
Don't get confused:
dk.ftf (made using TA.img) is for "getting DRM keys" on UNlocked/rooted bootloader with kernel supporting drmfix.
If you want to relock your BL you just need stock Lollipop, TA.img and iovyroot.zip

Sorry for being vague. I had backed up my TA partition prior to unlocking bootloader by downgrading to lollipop and using iovyroot. So to relock, I downgraded back to lollipop, and then tried the methods here. The text in the tarestore.bat that opens up does a few things, and then indicates that it's done, but my phone was still unlocked.
I then tried this:
adb push "root/iovyroot" "/data/local/tmp/iovyroot"
adb push "root/restore.sh" "/data/local/tmp/restore.sh"
adb push TA-XXXXXXXX.img "/data/local/tmp/TA.img"
adb shell
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/iovyroot
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/restore.sh
/data/local/tmp/iovyroot /data/local/tmp/restore.sh
and that finally worked. It seemed to do the exact same thing in the command prompt. So I don't know why that worked and the other methods didn't.
My 2 cents: a year ago, I needed to send my Z1 Compact for repair, and I did restore my TA backup as follows: I first restored TA-XXX.img using Backup-TA-9.XX while still using a custom rom with root (CM 12.1 actually). This soft bricked the phone (as I knew it would). Then, I flashed the latest stock firmware with flashtool, wiped everything, and boom, locked bootloader with the latest stock firmware. No need to downgrade! I don't know if it would work with a Z5, though...

I didn't need to do that. I downgraded to lollipop, ran the commands, rebooted the phone, and my bootloader was locked. After that I flashed marshmallow because I don't want to be stuck on lollipop obviously, but i did not NEED to flash firmware for the bootloader lock to complete.

Well only like a simple comment I did
Downgrade lollipop
Ran adb commands tarestore TA-XXXXX.img
With flashtool flash lollipop (again)
Boot, activated developers options
Flash marshmallow
Boot and any thing restored bootloader:locked and drm marlin etc etc
And it's not necessary write in mayus I only try to help telling you how it worked for me.

So the flashtool can't relock the bootloader of the Z5?
The above steps are the only way?

Can we RELOCK the phone after ROOT process? (on stock rom)

I want to root the Honor 8 for some apps such adaway etc.
For this, i need to unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP and then supersu2.X.zip. Thats clear and i understand.
But after rooting the phone, can we relock the phone to get rid of the warning message while booting up?
Anyone knows? Is there anyway?

i think i couldnt explain what i wanted to say.
I am now on EMUI 4.1 , model: frd-l19 and i want to ROOT it. For doing this, i need to unlock to bootloader and flash TWRP etc.
My question is, after ROOTING the phone, i want ROOT to stay in the phone but relock the bootloader via adb commands or another way, so i wont be seeing that first message in the boot. So basicly i want a rooted phone with locked bootloader. Is this possible? If i flash the whole firmare after root, wont the root be gone?
Thanks in advance

i think the main problem using the DLOAD method is because the model got rebranded. if we could rebrand it back to the original model, then it may work. but i dont know how to do that.

Decrypt and Extract OPS

I've looked into Decrypting the OPS files used for MSMDownloadTool, in order to use the Firehose in QFIL. So we can accomplish single partition flashing via EDL using QFIL.
I've successfully implemented BKerlers decryption python script which can be found here: https://github.com/bkerler/oppo_decrypt , to retrieve the partition xmls.
The problem is, this method requires you to go through the flashing process in MSMDownloadTool... I own a Sprint OP7 Pro 5G, and therefore do not have access to an OPS file to flash in order to obtain the Firehose and partitions.
With the ability to flash individual partitions through QFIL, we can flash any signed partitions we want without recovery or fastboot. Which would open up the possibility of not requiring SIM unlocks to achieve BL unlocks.
Another nice thing about this would be the ability to backup and restore partitions.

yes you are correct, I know the layout pretty well.. I have the xml and loader for the OP6T and 7Pro, and also, you are right, you can flash twrp with a patch0.xml that will allow to bypass locked bootloader..
as of matter of fact, I just did that to my brother in laws old ZTE Zmax Pro, which now had twrp and root running on it, while bootloader is still locked...... or was locked.. Since you cant access fastboot mode to unlock it.
So yes, its possible............. Sorry if I am late on this reply and has already been fixed or replied else where.. but I just happen to see this and wanted to add my 2 cents..
Don't be sorry. This is a road that is still wide open, but OnePlus stated that even they don't have the MSMDownload Tool for the 5G version... Which is ridiculous!
And ?

So yes, its possible............. Sorry if I am late on this reply and has already been fixed or replied else where.. but I just happen to see this and wanted to add my 2 cents..

Does that mean we can copy the widevine l1 keys and copy it over after we bl unlock so we can watch HD Netflix on a bl unlocked phone?
So, question? How can I help, I want to do whatever would be helpful to allow the oneplus 7 t or pro from t-mobile or any other oem to be converted with out unlocked bootloader.

Do you still have a LOCKED bootloader and are on the oneplus 7T (tmobile) or do you know anyone who is? This would be of EXTREME help. If so I know a way you could be of HUUUUUGGE help... Basically, the theory is that once the bootloader is unlocked, it deletes a file (/data/reserve/reserve.img) and without this file, tmobile phones cannot take OTA's. The good news is that the file can be extracted with a special tool(edl.py) without an unlocked bootloader, be placed back on an unlocked device and can take OTA's. So what we would have you do is run this edl.py tool and pull the data partition and extract that specific reserve.img file. And then we could distribute it and everyone with unlocked bootloaders could again take OTAs. Please contact me immediately.
Hi, what about if I upgraded to the 5g would this still help?

Can you please tell me the process in explained way to extract ops file,I tried (bkerler) way but I didn't succeed, please help me ..

It's does not matter . The firehose programmer elf has the write disabled.I have unpacked multipal ops files. OnePlus MSM tool signs the write option ,so you will not be able to write with any other tool.even with the xml files

First you need to unlock your bootloader by rebooting into fastboot, connect to a PC, use
Code:
fastboot flash unlock
then follow the instructions on screen. After that, follow the link below.

Yeah but I have the new update.
Will it still work
As long as you can unlock your bootloader, you can also use a custom kernel that provides Magisk right in the img, like Handelin

Am I going to not be able to watch Netflix in hd and use banking services what are they saying online you lose the l1 certificate?
Forget about Kernels. Get Magisk after u root as a start. Find urself some good modules. Then move on to shifting between roms. Get to kernels later.

Once u have unlocked bootloader and rooted once. U can use app like SwiftBackup to create a backup for all app data. What u can do right now at max is create a copy of ur internal storage somewhere on ur pc.

Yes Google Backup for pics contacts and stuff. Use Drive for files. Copy contents of ur internal storage to a folder on pc then paste them back later.
Or...use OP Clone Phone (or it's predecessor) to make a backup before unlocking the bootloader. Copy the backup directory off the phone, have your way with the phone, , copy it back & restore. It's not as good as Migrate or Swift, but doesn't require root.
