Hi all!
I have got a strange problem on my smartphone Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F).
The network connections (WLAN and HSPA/LTE) starts with normal speed and crashed after a few seconds. Sometimes it cames back for only a few seconds again. (In Google Play Store I got 491/495-error.)
I tried all the known work-a-rounds like resetting network, clear cache, wipe cache/dalvik, factory reset, installed orig firmware again etc.
The reseller and the samsung support couldn't find any problem (or better any solution).
So I decided to install the latest LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2) from 2017-11-07. But the problem still exists.
With aLogcat I couldn't found any hint.
After installing F-Droid store and trying to install an app, I got error messages like this;
Read error; ssl=0x7f8c3c9440; Failure in SSL library, usually a protocol error
error; 1e000065;Cipher functions;OPENSSL_internal;BAD_DECRYPT (external/boringssl/src/crypto/cipher/e_aes.c;1187 0x7f9b150e7e;0x00000000)
error;10000008b;SSL
routines;OPENSSL_internal;DECRYPTION_FAILED_OR_BAD_RECORD_MAC (external/boringssl/src/ssl/tls_record.c; 221 0x7f9b150e7e;0x00000000)
hypertext secure link to fdroid pakage fdroid_1000011.apk
(the memory addresses in the error message may change/all semicolons are colons in original and I had to remove all hyper text prefixes because of restrictions for new users)
Next I tried to change the WLAN-MAC-address. because of the MAC hint in the error message. But nothing happens. The problem still exists.
ps; Surfing webpages seems to work without any problem. Maybe it still exists not before big data is requested.
pps; On faster network connection more data received before the problem comes up.
Thanks for your advices!
Alex
Hi!
A little update:
bigger downloads even over the hypertext-secure-protocol from firefox works without any problems.
Seems that all software using the boringssl-lib from Android doesn't work. Downloading the amazon app store worked perfect - starting the app and logging in does not.
Alex
Hi again!
Hope all of you have nice hollidays.
I'm sure right now, that it must be a problem between the modem and the boringssl library.
But I coudn't find a way to report a bug to the boringssl project.
As it is part of Android project should I report it to them?
I think the reseller and Samsung are really interrestet giving a solution to me.
Thanks and happy holidays!

Hi,
recently I rooted my EU Xoom device. Everything worked fine so far. Now the Market App told me about an update to the Music App. I hit "update" , then a small window appears that says something like "permitting access" (in German of course), the window disappears and no update is done. Any ideas? Can this have to do with the rooting of the device?
btw: is there an english language pack for my device?
cheers

I had the same issue - It appeared in My Apps as an update, but wouldn't intall. I left it for a few hours, came back and it worked. You could probably try clearing the cache and stopping the Myapps process, though this didn't change anything for me.
I've seen the same thing happen before for apps that aren't initially available in all regions.
If you attempt to install music beta from the android market website (with a PC/laptop), you should be able to hover over the device. For me, it was initially greyed out, with the tooltip explaining that it wasn't available in my region/country, even though a friend had just updated to it. I'm sure if you leave it a few hours, you'll be able to install it then.
had the same thing happen to me when i uninstalled the music beta update.
Simple click manage instead of install and then once redirected to the manage page seleting update will now work properly.
Hi,
thx for your replies. Killing the MyApps app and clearing the cache helped in my case!
cheers

I have same issue with a US WiFi model used out side of US.
I googled a free US http proxy, type it into wifi settings.then access market again, end with update successfully.
how do you do it? i need ur help pls
Hey there!
Today is my first day running with miui 1.9.30 on my desire s.
I switched from VoidU 1.1a just to try some new stuff.
Everything is working fine, but when trying to download apps from the store, it's just not working.
It says "Starting Download...", the page reloads but progress is stuck at "Starting Download".
In the "My Apps" menu, the download is listed, but also stuck on starting.
Wasn't able to find a solution to this problem so far.
I tried wiping cache / market data / google apps data.
Some people said it's related to google talk. So i have overwritten it with a different version, still no progress.
All other downloads are working fine. I can download from the internet and through the MIUI theme manager.
The Appstore even calls me when i have new updates.
Google Sync also syncs without problems
Does anyone have / had similar issues?
Aqua
PS: Yes i have looked in the Download App.
I am using a WPA secured WiFi connection.
When that happened to my GF the problem was that the language set for her Google account wasn't the same as the language on her phone. Switching that fixed it.
Today exactly the same thing happened also to me.
When trying to download apps from the market, it said "Starting Download...", the page reloads but progress was stuck at "Starting Download".
Yesterday everything was fine.
I tried now to switch from 3G to Wireless, and downlaoding apps.
This seemed to help, now downloading apps worked.
Then i switched back to 3G, and downloading apps from the market still works.
So the problem seems to be solved now.
Perhaps it was a temporary general problem of the market, or switching from 3G to wireless (and then switching back) helped.
Solved it!
Solution was as stupid as the problem itself.
Our wifi network got upgraded the last week.
As a side effect, some ports got locked again.
And yep, the market port was one of them.
Tried at a different wifi location and the downloaded worked fine again
This needn't to be the problem. I had the same with Voidu and Virtuous. The solution was either to change language (but worked only for couple of minutes) or uninstall update of Market to 3.1.5 (then you have to delete marketupdater.apk, otherwise it installs the update again).
This issue has just started happening to me over the past 2-3 days, and I cannot figure out a permanent fix for it! Let me start by saying that my OPO is not rooted, and the only updates to the ROM have been the official ones that have been released (I'm currently on CM version 11.0-XNPH44S). Every time I attempt to open the Play Store, it crashes immediately afterward with the "unfortunately google play store has stopped" error. I looked at the error report and it states : [CRASH] com.android.vending threw java.lang.IllegalArguementException as the subject then the first line of the content reads: "java.lang.illegalarguementexception: view android.widget.listview{41ab7730 VFED.VC. .F...... 0,0-1080,1845 #7f0a02dd app:id/play_drawer_list} is not a drawer".
I know nothing about Java, so I have no idea what this means, and there are 18 lines of equally incomprehensible text after that. I've tried clearing the data, cache, etc. from the app with no change. The only thing that works is when I uninstall the updates, taking the Play Store back to v. 4.9.13. However, in almost all cases it auto-updates immediately back to 5.1.1, so I'm still not able to use it. I read somewhere about disabling the background data usage in settings, but then you're not allowed to download anything from the store.
Is anyone else having the same issue, or can you suggest an idea as to how to fix it without my rooting the device and having to back up the nearly 700 apps I have on it? TYSM in advance!

Hallo ,
I have exactly the same problem and fail to solve,If anyone can help I would be grateful !
Same problem here, any fix yet?
Hello,
We have a custom application that was developed outside of our org and we are in the process of obtaining the source so i am going to be vague but hoping someone can perhaps point me to some ideas until i get it.
When you install the application, run it, log in to it all works fine. You come back a day or 7 later for example and you now are brought immediately to a white window. This is where the login is supposed to be.
I haven't tried this on anything else but samsung devices so an s5 and s6 Android 6.0.1 and it happens on both. Both of these are old verizon phones.
To resolve it at least with these 2 devices is to go to settings/accounts and delete the account that gets setup as part of the application it seems. Once i do this and exit out of the app, open it back up i am brought to the login screen as i would expect.
For some the above does not work but simply clearing out the cache seems to resolve the issue.
Last, uninstalling and reinstalling the application has also worked for some.
for a period this worked without issue and then all of a sudden started doing this. We aren't certain if there was a change in android that resulted in this or what. Anyone have any ideas how to get us back on track here?
Thanks.
I have been using succesfully this service : https://enterprise.google.com/android/experience for a year, without problem.
Recently I reseted my device due to some problems related to play store, and now, when I want to configure again my work profile, it just get stuck.
The app that enables work profile is that one -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.work.clouddpc
I tried to :
- Delete my work profile and recreate a new one
- Delete cache and data for the app
It starts the process without any problem, but then it gets stuck at "registering your profile" for 5-10 minutes, after giving up.
Found nothing on the internet, and google support is not helpful either.
I would appreciate some clue on how to solve this.
Try this app. Maybe it helps. It's open source, don't worry.
