Looks like something to do with the weather, you have a storm/rain forecast on the other widget
Check different weather apps / widgets
----
Yes, it's removable. It's a blue GPS raindrop/teardrop trying to locate your current location for an app (lication).
Do the following:
1. Go to home screen and TAP bottom right (APPS), and proceed to SETTINGS.
2. TAP SETTINGS.
3. OPEN CONNECTIONS and TAP BLUETOOTH [2nd option] OFF (Just momentarily)
4. TAP LOCATION [9th option] OFF (Just momentarily) while still in Connections via SETTINGS.
5. In Settings go into NOTIFICATIONS to TURN OFF ALL APPS Getting Notifications (Just temporarily)
6. Last go into Settings, DEVICE MANAGEMENT and FIX ALL that is needed or where you see a number. Once your device is at 90% or higher, BEST @ 100%, THE GPS RAINDROP/TEARDROP IS GONE.
Problem Solved.
Now you can proceed to turn on whatever you want on, such as:
Bluetooth On,
Location On, and
ALL APPS Notifications ON (Pushable).

Best to just Google search for possible fixes, that's all I did
Seems like no-one knows exactly what causes it

I searched google for a few days in a row, but I did not find anything about it

Maybe it's more related with a bug in the system UI, because to me it doesn't look like a blue drop, but more like those "handles" to select text, don't you think?
If you remove your Clock/Weather widget, does the drop still appear? It could be a bug with your widget.
Also, if you try to click that "blue drop", what happens?
It seems like you've used an alternative launcher, an alternative clock/weather widget, alternative icons etc... So to investigate this, I would start looking in the apps I installed that have something to do with the customization of the home screen.
I hope this helps ; )

Blue tear drop
I got this in the middle of the home screen. Tapping it moved it to the top left. I rebooted into safe mode then from settings-apps-advanced-apps that can appear on top, disabled ones I thought had no need to do this. Skyp and samsung pay are two I don't use and disabled this permission (amongst others). Upon rebooting, the drop is gone. I should maybe pin this down to find the exact app but can't be bothered. Also this is disabling the drop but possibly not whatever it was representing.
Hope this helps.

It is a bug from messenger. Idk why, but if you're using the chat heads, you're typing something, and then minimize the chat, this blue drop can appear. I guess it's a bug from s7 Nougat, because since I updated to Oreo this bug has never happened to me again. But if you're on Nougat yet, you can do these steps to remove the drop:
1: In the recent apps tab, messenger must be there. If it is not, then open messenger, and go to home screen again.
2: Grab the messenger chat heads, and slide it into the bottom of the screen to remove it.
3: Now go to the recent apps tab, and remove messenger.
This should close messenger, and the blue drop should be gone.
I guess you can also go into settings, apps, messenger, and force stop, then the blue drop will be gone as well(but doing the steps above is easier), and then you just open messenger again, and whenever this drop appears, you just close messenger again.

Forse stop Facebook messenger and open it again
Its a bug ?

!Nexus 5 Launcher with "OK Google"!

Saw this on phandroid and thought it was worth sharing here.
If you're like me and you want to test out some of the most noticeable new features in Android 4.4 KitKat then this is for you.
I have tested cm11 alpha1 for about 30 minutes and all I can say is that it's nothing more than a proof of concept at this point (just like the alpha tag suggests).
So if you want some of the quirks of KitKat in a stable environment (any jb rom) here's a way of getting some of it.
While Google still hasn’t provided the actual launcher in the Play Store, some simple sideloading of the GoogleHome.apk we found in the Nexus 5′s factory image, along with the updated Google Search app, got everything up and running. Here’s our easy how-to on getting GEL installed and fully functional on your Android device.

First, make sure to enable the sideloading of apps by going into your device Settings > Security > and checking Unknown sources. From there download the updated Google Search and Google Home from us (linked below). Jump into your Downloads app and install both the apps you just downloaded (press the descriptions, not the check boxes), selecting “done” after every installation.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/gxv7cvpcvv79i23/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox318.apk
http://www.mediafire.com/download/3ina0fd8fwki5fo/GoogleHome.apk
From there, press the home button and select “Launcher” as your default homescreen — this is the new Google Experience Launcher. You’ll notice the always listening “Ok Google” command doesn’t work from the Google Experience Launcher. No worries, turning it on is easy.
For some, you’ll be able to swipe to the left and quickly access Google Search/Now, but if that’s not available, you’ll need to actually enable the new Google Search/Now app. It’s easy, just open the Google Search app (listed as “Google” in your app drawer) and click “Next” then “I’m in.” Once that’s taken care of, jump back to your homescreen. You’ll now be able to swipe to the left and access Google Now.
Once in Google Now, scroll all the way to the bottom and press the 3 dot menu to select Settings. From there, select “voice” > “offline speech recognition” (manage downloaded languages). Now, we’re going to work our way from the right tab, all the way to the left.
Select the Auto-Update tab from the top and choose one of the auto-update options (we recommend leaving it on “over WiFi-only”). After that, scoot over to the All tab and find English (US). You’ll notice it already says “pre-installed”. Don’t listen to it. Select English (US) anyway. From there, jump to the Installed tab and press “English (US)” where you’ll be asked to download the latest version (version 28 at the time of writing). Hit “Download” and the updated version will be downloaded and installed.
After it’s finished downloading, press the home button where you’ll notice “Ok Google” will now be displayed inside the Google Search widget. Simply speak that phrase whenever you’re on your homescreen to perform a Google Search or voice actions. That’s it. Was relatively painless, right?
Thanks, Justin!

Idea for futuristic all inclusive android launcher

I was looking through different android launcher apps, and I realised that none of them really were futuristic enough for what I was looking for haha
so I'm posting on here with some very basic designs and explanations in the hopes that someone who is good with app developing will pick up the project.
please note that these are very basic designs so I apologise if I don't explain it well enough, please feel free to ask questions.
I reference Next Launcher 3D in this quite a bit when explaining animations or graphics as that is the launcher that has come close enough to what I'm looking for, but not quite.
Basically this is a simplistic, minimalistic yet futuristic launcher
open onto a screen with 4 Buttons; apps, Phone, SMS and Widgets

}
(if that didnt work then the sharing URL is drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rTbu0kCCptMFNJUlNFR0o3Nkk/edit?usp=sharing I'm using google drive to store the pics, Ill post the link after the image from now on just in case
this will be very simplistic, but effects preferable as I'm going for the futuristic look
upon double tapping the big empty space on the right of the screen, a smaller screen will slide in from the right:
(drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rTbu0kCCptaTVMVHJiRVc4ckU/edit?usp=sharing)
this contains notification bubbles for social networks, a quick post option (without opening a new window) and quick access to media apps
swipe to the right to get rid of it and return to the first screen.
Upon clicking the apps icon, the other 3 icons shrink to the right (but remain clickable) and the apps 'shoot' out of the apps icon into the app drawer (like the folder shoot effect in next launcher 3d)
(drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rTbu0kCCptX0Q5YVNXUFFRT1E/edit?usp=sharing)
click the apps icon again to close it and the other icons return to normal size
upon clicking the phone icon the other icons disappear, the icon moves to the top of the screen, a back button appears next to the icon and an integrated dialler 'shoots' from the phone icon
(drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rTbu0kCCptUUJ6VDhRdXhzbUE/edit?usp=sharing)
I realise it's very different to have an integrated dialler but I like the idea of it and I'm surprised it hasnt been done much before
upon clicking the back icon, the dialer goes back into the phone icon and the other icons return
upon clicking the sms icon, the other icons disappear, the icon moves to the top of the screen, a back button appears next to the icon and an integrated sms inbox 'unfolds' from the sms icon (think window blinds)
(drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rTbu0kCCptTGxmV2o4emZBVTQ/edit?usp=sharing)
upon clicking the back button it folds up again
upon clicking on a sms thread it opens and allows you to message people
clicking back returns you to the main screen
upon clicking on the widget icon, the screen slides to the left, revealing a standard customisable widget grid (default 4X4) and you click the home button on your device to go back.
I Hope I've explained this well enough and I hope someone picks up the project as I would love to have this launcher
That sounds pretty cool. I'd test it out for sure.
Nice ideas
I hope some developer takes on thins, looks nice.
I think the icons shrinking to the left can be replaced with a slide menu like the one from the play store.
come on people
come on developers please haha this is a good idea, the end product could end up making money on the app store, im not even selling an idea here I just want it done haha anyone?
First of all, you should add ok Google now bar. Your ideas are really cool and something I would try out. Also, for users running cm, you should also make you re launcher compatible with cyanogenmods theme engine. That way people can have a futuristic look their own way . and use moonshine icon pack
Futuristic is kinda modern Space...which I prefer!

[Q] How do you disable S Planner?

It's weird.. I can't disable it from my s6 Application Management, the option to "Disable" is greyed out. When I go into the S Planner app > Settings > Manage Calendars to switch off all the calendars it's grabbing from my google account.. something turns the calendars back on. Force stop, clear cache, clear data just re-enables S Planner again.
I prefer Google's Calendar app as my main calendar and because I can't disable S Planner I get double event notifications. Has anyone been able to turn it off? I'm not rooted.

Use debloater program for pc (use search on this forum). Install it, then connect your phone, wait a bit and scan packages. Look for S-planner and click the box next to it and click apply (this will disable the app). You can do this without root.
I simply disabled notifications
Thanks Juzh, I'll look into that.
In regards to the last post. Can you post where to disable that?

Go to application manager ... In settings. You can disable notifications for many apps (which stops them running in background as well as solving your s planner problem)
OK however my S Planner notification option is checked but greyed out to disable. Does yours toggle? Could be something wrong with my phone. Anyone else can disable like the last post mentioned?

Just go into the Samsung calendar app and turn off the notifications in the settings
There are a few ways to do this it seems. There is a setting called App notifications. Find S Planner. Click on the cog wheel for settings.
Turn notifications off.
This happened to me too!
I tried to switch over to google Calendar, but got double notifications. I wanted to uninstall it, but that was not possible. So I went into the permissions of the S-planner app and turned off all permissions.
From that point on, it kept sending me notifications that I had to give S-planner permission to read the calendar and other items. I couldn't even go into the app itself and tell the app to stop making these notifications because it would keep popping up a message that I had to set permissions to read calendar and then it would return to the main screen of the app.
In the end, I resigned to allowing it to read my calendar and then from the app itself turn off notifications.
So I still have the app, but i no longer have double notifications.
@Mainow, I have this too, it bothers me greatly. Did you get this fixed?
jjust use titanium backup and disable it their without truning off notification or something its called freeze in titanium back up
Package Disabler Pro
I use Package Disabler Pro. I used the free version for a bit but do like being able to kill S Planner, S Voice and all those other little hard to kill apps that come on the S6 (and S7). In the end I bought the app, but it was pretty cheap. Oh, also does not need root.
Hope this helps.

Well, I no longer get double notifications and s planner has stopped complaining about being able to read the calendars. So yeah, it's pretty much fixed. Only thing is that I would have rather just uninstalled s planner, because it's still there

Whoa. I haven't been on the forum a while. I thought I would have gotten an email if someone replied to my message.
Sorry for the VERY late answer
In short, no, i never got this fixed other than what i described. S-planner still is able to read my calendar, but I muted the notifications from the app itself

Enabling Push Notifications on Oppo A77 (Australian version)

Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased an Oppo A77 (in Australia), and am very impressed by the cost of the phone and the excellent hardware (Octa-core processor, 4 Gigs of RAM, and 64 Gigs of Storage - all for AU$350, or AU$300 on special!!!).
It has taken me some time to get used to ColorOS, which is Oppo's UI for Android. Make no mistakes an Android purist will struggle with this OS because it has clearly been designed to mimic the iPhone!
Once I got my head around the fact that there is no traditional Android menu and that all App icons must live on the home screen (just like on iPhone) I began to enjoy using ColorOS.
However there are at least two functional issues which I have noted with my A77, and the most glaring of these is the fact that it does not do Push notifications by default for almost all apps.
To make things interesting there are four individual settings, in four different locations, which must all be set correctly for Push notifications to work!
Section 1 - Add Apps to Startup
In order to save battery the A77 only starts what it sees as essential Apps.
As a result the first step in our process is to enable Apps at startup for which we wish to receive Push notifications.
a). Open the Security App (looks like a 'shield with a tick inside' on my A77)
b). Click on Privacy Permissions
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
c). Click on Startup Manager
d). Enable Apps which you want to startup with the phone (e.g.: Yandex Mail)
Section 2 - Enable Apps for Priority Notification
a). Open the Settings App (looks just like the one on an iPhone!)
b). Select App Management
c). Select All
d). Select an App of interest (e.g.: Yandex Mail)
e). Select Notification Manager
f). Enable Priority Notification
Note: You may also (optionally) want to enable 'Notification Light Flashing' to make it easier to see when a new message is present (should you not hear the phone)
Section 3 - Stop Apps Optimization
a). Open the Settings App
b). Select Battery
c). Select Energy Saver
d). Select the App of interest (e.g.: Yandex Mail)
e). Turn off Freeze when in Background
Section 4 - Lock Apps in Background
a). Start an App of interest (e.g.: Yandex Mail)
b). Press the Home button (to clear the screen)
c). Press the Recent Apps button (square button to the left of the Home button)
d). Lock App (of interest) by dragging down on it
The lock icon can be a little hard to see due to its size and transparency. Furthermore only one icon exists and it looks like an unlocked padlock. Make no mistake the unlocked padlock icon actually indicates that the App is now locked. Whereas the absence of a padlock icon indicates that the App is not locked!
At times the Security App may ask you to 'Optimize' your phone! Ignore alerts of this type as the phone is essentially asking you if you want to stop certain Apps from running at Startup; these will be the Apps that you have deliberately decided to start!!!
Following the instructions above will result in the Apps of your choice running at all times, and this does consume additional RAM, however with 4 Gigs of RAM to begin with I have not found this to be a concern. Furthermore additional battery consumption will occur, however in my experience the extra consumption is negligible.
Additional Apps which I have enabled at Startup are Carsales, Dropbox, Find My Device, Outlook, Roomster, Yandex.Mail and Yandex.Disk. Under normal operating conditions I usually have in excess of 1.5 to 2 Gigs of RAM spare despite having these Apps running.
Kind Regards,
Davo
Thank you!
Thank you so much! I purchased an OPPO r11s plust and not receiving e-mail notifications was driving me crazy.
Hi, i am user of OPPO F7 and i don't have startup setting rest all i applied but still no notification
Legend.
Absolute legend, thanks heaps.
Found myself in the same situation after the death of my Sony Xperia, and had tried everything but my alarm app and a couple of others kept getting force-closed and/or failing to show notifications after going to the background no matter what. That final tip for dragging down to lock an app in the app manager was the thing that did it, worked a charm. :good:

Question Weird launcher behavior on UIS7862 machine

Lately i have installed my first Android HU - UIS7862 4+64 model.
In the beginning i thought its like any other Tablet / Phone, that i could install any Launcher from play store. So i tried Nova, Vivd launcher. Every thing works, but very soon i found it retrieve back to the stock launcher randomly (it does really random, sometimes when i click back, some times home button).
At this point i thought may be these Chinese unit does not works right with 3rd party launcher? so i uninstalled all 3rd party ones. Now i am on the stock Launcher.
i selected a theme call 'UI16" in factory settings menu, and here comes the weird part. This stock launcher also has random reset to another theme, which i recognize is 'UI13' in factory settings. i have been stuck with this issue since then, being so frustrated with it...
Here's what i have tired and didn't resolve the issue.
1. Select UI in factory settings (UI16, UI13 etc..)
2. Settings > apps > default apps > launcher (from here i see multiple Launcher 3)
3. Settings > apps > Found all 'Launcher 3' > wipe their data (i see all my app Icons, widget settings are gone)
4. Tried to flash a launcher via USB script according to 4PDA (eventually this one show as 'UI08' in factory settings; And added another 'launcher3' in App list)
i ran out of ideas, did someone had faced the same situation? all i want is a stable launcher, do not jump around on me randomly..
Thanks.

Read forums and enjoy
OP,
If you have the Vivid launcher or any other known launcher, it should appear in the Android settings as an option to choose as the default launcher. You may like to try the Microsoft launcher. That launcher - from memory - will ask if it wants to set as default launcher on first run.
Microsoft Launcher also has a shortcut to Android settings in it's settings.
Post back on how you get on.
Try modifying your config.txt to specify the launcher you want as ro.fyt.launcher. Or maybe comment it out / remove it altogether. You can find it at /oem/app/config.txt. If you're rooted, you can modify this in-place. Otherwise, you'll need to research how to flash it: see 2nd post, section VIII https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...unisoc-ums512-q-a-mods-tips-firmware.4396339/
I only just set mine to nova a few hours ago, but so far it's persisted across a reboot.
I don't recall this behavior in the past, but just updated the firmware on mine and it's been driving me crazy.
All, Thanks for the reply. appreciate the help!
I don't have Root and i am in the process of asking for original firmware from the seller. Before that, honestly i am afraid to modify / delete anything via adb.
Current situation is, i have "factory reset" the HU from factory menu, that wipe all 3rd parties apps, but not the 'UI08' i flashed.
Since then the launcher seems to be able to stay at UI08.
@ludditefornow, I think i have did that somehow. apart from 3rd and 4th pic i posted in the original post, also tried to use some sort of 'hidden menu' apps to open up Android's default setting page. From there it basically gave me the same setting page of pics that i posted.
Also i have tried to ADB "am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN", that would call a pop up window on the screen let you select defauly home app. If i remember corrently Nova has similar step during install. Apparently none of mentioned worked.
@ziddey, thanks. i will see what my config.txt looks like. changing "ro.fyt.launcher = xxxxxx" seems promising.
in my observation, in /oem/app, other then "com.android.launcherxxx" apk files that came with the firmware. There is also another item called 'launcher3'. Which i suspect this 'launcer3' is a scheduled task running in the background and trying to keep whatever theme (like UI08) that user selected in factory settings alive.
Other then that, from all my screen pics there is an extra icon on the right of home button (screen's top left). That i have not seen in other Android unit. i kept thinking this what 'launcher3' do as well.
Nice. For what it's worth, I can confirm that changing ro.fyt.launcher resolves the issue. Next time I update/wipe, I'll try just removing that prop entirely.
