Hi everyone,
My father had a problem with his Honor 8. When the new update was released it bricked the phone. Using the DLOAD, we were able to fix this problem, however he was still experiencing regular unwanted reboots. He decided to try changing the firmware again using the rollback file (from android 7.0 to 6.0) on a phone that was already on Android 6.0... Now the phone reboots on his own to the blue honor log screen and doesn't get out of it. We are not able to shut it off, nor go to DLOAD or anything. The only thing I was able to achieve was going to the fastboot. Anything else won't work.
The phone is an Honor 8 bought on Aliexpress. It's a AL10 version but the buyer had the FRD-L19 firmware installed on it. With the DLOAD, the last firmware the phone was on, was an EMUI 4.1 Android 6.0 L19 firmware.
Anyone has any solution in order to install newly a firmware and unbrick the phone please ?

Thanks

Hey i think there is a problem with new update , mine too experience same in my case my device is FRD-L02 . After several times i left the phone to Honor CARE. they said it takes upto 10-15 days also said they will replace the motherboard.
So just give it to care before with lock bootloader , dont unlock the bootloader in this case otherwise it will costs a lot. have a good day.

Nothing, just waiting for it to repair
The instant solution. Dc-pheonix , use it , buy 15 credits worth 15 euros ,flash with firmware. Then rebrand your Honor 8 using the guide here on XDA. Njoy.

True. My solution is only if out of warranty or warranty not provided!
Hi guys !
Thanks for all you answers. The phone is still under warranty so I contacted Alianz since I had a 1 year repair warranty possibilty and I sent the phone to them. I'm now waiting for them to tell me what's going to happen with the phone.
I'll keep you updated with what's going to happen and when we'll get the phone back
Thanks again !
Hi everyone,
I got the phone back from warranty and they solved the problem. I can't really tell what they did because the paper that came with it wasn't very detailed. But the phone is working perfectly anyway.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help solving this matter

Not to offend anyone, but the fault is not from Huawei. You guys keep trying to install updates that may not be meant for your phone. Can only blame yourself. If it's not at OTA update, just don't risk it!
Mine runs great on B130 kitkat with unlock and root.

I totally agree. But if there is any as*hole like me that wants to try a beta build, there should be a rollback alternative, right? Yeah, it's not very productive to blame the brand, but the brand should cover different scenarios in case people go full re__rd and install unverified software on their phones.
hey everyone im new here in XDA .. sorry for my english

HONOR 6 H60-L02 (made in China) totally bricked
Hello,
i’m very disappointed about my phone (H60-L02) because he’s bricked after an Huawei update (6.8.15).
I have wanted to reset the phone because i want to give this phone to my daughter.
I’ve gone to the settings menu to get an new initializie.
The phone has been reseted, but, after that, the phone restarts and stays on the Honor Bootlogo…
I’ve tried to do a new reset with the 3 buttons method. The first time, the recovery menu proposes me to format the phone. I did it. After hat, the phone reboots but, once again, he stays on the Honor bootlogo…
The difference now, is that the 3 buttons method doesn’t works anymore. The menu is not available when i push the 3 buttons…
I can only do a Vol-/Power, wich starts the Fastboot mode. But this one is locked…
The problem is:
– I don’t have the Product ID of my phone (because i’ve never wanted to root it)
– Huawei europe doesn’t want to give me the Unlock code because he’s made in China. And i have no answers from Huawei China.
What can i do? This phone is definitively out?
Somebody can help me?
(sorry for my poor english)

Yep, sign into Google with the account you used on that device, go to settings, dashboard, Android and you can find IMEI there.
Connect phone to pc in fastboot mode and fire
Fastboot devices
And you will get serial number (most probably).
Use Huawei hacker toolkit to get your device id and then request a password.

This is the only mode to unbrick your L02 / L12
This procedure erases all data
Download EMUI 3.1 Developer 6.1.1
https://mega.nz/#F!ztYliaxL!4gfyXozS...BDgBQ!6w5inQ6Z
Extract the zip file and copy UPDATE.app in SD/dload
Insert the SD without connecting
Disconnect the USB cable from your PC
Press the Power button to turn off
When you feel the vibration press 3btn
When appears the Honor logo connect your SD (continue to press 3btn for 3 - 4 seconds)
Wait for the recovery process

You can choose whether to go with developer EMUI 4.0 or EMUI stable 4.0.1.
If you want to get stable EMUI 4.01 you must first use this rollback
http://www.mediafire.com/download/9qrd8zm9280gy5e/Rollback+591+EMUI3.0.zip
Uodate.app in dload and do a local update from setting
After install B535 from local update
After install B535 - B860
otherwise install incremental updates for EMUI 4.0 developer

I put rollback 591 to Emui 3.0 and tel. show all Emui version 3.1_H60-L02_6.1.1

I formated the data on my mobile and everything was removed, but when I try to install the EMUI "Honor 8_Firmware_FRD-L19_Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1_C432B131_Western Europe" update, then I get the message "Software install failed". So, how do I install EMUI again on my mobile? Custom Roms are removing basically everything which makes Honor 8 such a good device.
Thanks and I hope someone can help me
Have the same problem with Honor 8 pro, after downoading new firmware the instalation stoped around 80% of progress. After that only welcome logo of honor is visible, phone cannot be turned off, if i press power button, it only restart itself. I can get to screen with choice of dowload newest version, reboot and recovery and the last choice is shut down. But when i try to download again the firmware, it again writes me the same message about fail...now i cant use my phone. Do you guys have any suggestion? I don´t remember the firmware version (it ended with 185) and it was for Czech republic.
Thank you

Hi there ,

My device is Huawei mate 8 , and last week i unlock bootloader and rooted with magisk.
After that i flash the Kangvip [Custom Rom] Huawei Mate 8 - NXT-L29C432B582 -Custom System Update - ("V.6"), but did not have google play, when i try to unnistall some apps the settings close, fingerprint not working so i decide to send my device to service .
Before flashing the Kangvip i have Android 7 with emui 5.0.1.
When i pick up my device from service it came with android 6 and emui 4 and some bugs, themes dont work and i`m missing emui 5 with android 7.
I try to update via settings/update but no updates there, try with hicare but no rezults there .
So i`m stuck on emui 4.
Is there any way to go back on emui 5 ?

Its okayyy! My issue has been resolved lol i just had to dload a b330 firmware then the rest of the ota came flooding in ??
And I'm back again! Now with the aged old emui 5 problem, anyone found a way to disable auto dimming on chrome? Or forced it to run on Performance mode like we could back in emui 4? The chrome dimming doesn't really bother me too much but it happens in the middle of my Rules Of Survivor matches and starts lagging while dimmed. That's hella annoying ? really dont want all these effort of updating to emui 5 to go a waste n end up going back go 4.1 ??
