[APP][TOOL] Lenovo Mobile Assistant for Moto E LTE Surnia - E 2015 Themes and Apps

Lenovo Mobile Assistant
v1.4.1.14199 (Windows 7, 8.x & 10)
For Motorola Moto E 2015 Surnia/Otus
DESCRIPTION:
The Lenovo Mobile Assistant is a Windows compatible application which allows syncing between your phone and PC for tasks such as:
* Making a backup of your phone's music, videos, photos, etc., from your PC and restoring the backup from PC;
* Managing your SMS messages and contacts from your PC;
* Managing installed user applications from your PC;
* Capturing & managing screenshots of your phone's display in real time from your PC.
In appearance and functionality, the Mobile Assistant is closely akin to Hi-Suite for Huawei devices. It features a simple, user-friendly interface as well as auto-updates when a new version becomes available. While typically an OEM application released with Lenovo tablets & ThinkPad devices, the Mobile Assistant works on the Moto E 2015 and a number of other Motorola smartphones.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Download the installation package from the link below and install it on your Windows laptop or PC by double clicking the MobileAssistant_Setup.exe file. After installation, connect your device to your PC via micro USB to USB data sync cable. Ensure USB Debugging is enabled and follow any prompts on your phone for sync authorization. Syncing should occur within 30 seconds or so.

Note: I just fixed the link on this post. For some reason, link sharing on the files was not turned on by default. Sorry for any difficulties caused by this. It should now be fixed.

Any members using this Windows based tool, user experience and input would be greatly appreciated. Any bugs, problems syncing, etc., should be listed on this thread, as well as positive experiences. Thanks

@MotoJunkie01 Tried it today..... The pc software seems to crash after I connect my phone. As soon as it says test app, it closes. Here is the pic.
I tested this on my otus(xt1506).
Also it'd be good if you could add otus to the title, as first I thought this software was only for surnia.
Anyways thanks for the software....

I've only tested it on Surnia, and even though the software undoubtedly works on many other Motorola/Lenovo devices, I can't confirm it's functionality on Otus. Thanks for your feedback. Ensure you have installed the latest Motorola Device Manager on your PC (to ensure latest USB device driver installation), try reinstalling the Assistant, etc., and let me know if you have any luck with it.
P.S. I've temporarily removed "Otus" from the heading until I can confirm functionality. If you get it working on your xt1506 I will definitely add Otus to both the title and heading. Thanks again for testing.

I also tried the software on my Lenovo tab 2 a7 10f and it gave me the same error.... So are the drivers guilty since it works on your surnia? Can you please provide the drivers link you are using/recommend? Thank You!

There is only one reliable driver source for Motorola devices: the Motorola Device Manager directly from Motorola's website.
Here's the link to the latest version.
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_detail/a_id/79106/p/30,75,27,
Download and install this software on your PC, and ensure you have USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options.
The Mobile Assistant app was pulled from a Lenovo Tab 3, so the problem may be your USB device drivers. I've tried the Assistant on the Moto G3 and Moto G4 as well with no problems. Keep me updated. Thanks.

Also, just a thought, but try changing USB cables and/or your USB port. If this doesn't work, download the Assistant again and uninstall/reinstall.

For any members who have used this application on a device other than the Surnia, please provide confirmation on other compatible devices. Thanks.

I also have this installed on my PC. The Official Lenovo USB drivers for Windows. While these drivers are intended for Lenovo tablets, maybe install them and see if you have any luck with Otus.

Thank You

Here is a mirror link for the Lenovo USB device drivers. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Sfod4HWfk2aUNVN2F3SUowLWM/view?usp=drivesdk. Definitely try these drivers. I've confirmed full functionality on Moto E 2015 Otus. I just verified that this link is stable as well.

Out of curiosity, when you downloaded the installation package, did you download all the files, put all files in a folder, and install the exe file from that directory?

I downloaded the whole folder as a zip (GDrive made it into a zip). I then extracted the files and then ran the setup.

Odd indeed. I have tried it on several Moto/Lenovo devices and, thus far, I haven't came across a device which fails to work on the Mobile Assistant. Have you tried revoking USB Debugging Authorization in Dev Options, and reauthorizing?

Use the 4.1 SDK. But not sure if that will help. You can try the following.
1.Retry another USB port. Before that Activate search for windows update for new devices.
Or
2.There is an universal android driver somewhere on the internet.
Or
3.try killing adb server using cmd

Battery drains as it keeps connecting back to network after few secs on network drops. I've noticed.
Downloaded the file from pdanetDOTco .I can't post the link as I just joined and my total post count is less than 10. I will give quick summary of how I did it. I downloaded the file and installed in my PC.it ask to choose the device from a list.(chose'others')then connects my device in USB debugging mode.it detects the device and installs the driver automatically from internet.done. actually its a tethering software but most of the devs use this for installing device drivers.
I didn't found any issues from my device.just the battery doesn't last a day but that's OK coz I do play heavy graphics game continuously and browsing.

[Q] USB not detected

My phone is still a stock phone, all I have used was only official OTA updates in the past 2 years. All I wanted to do are just flash recovery and try some 3rd party ROMs on this phone. To get everything started I have to unlock bootloader via HTCdev, or maybe do some backup using Helium. Either way I will have to connect my phone to my pc via USB cable. But the USB just not detected. I think there's a problem caused by the 4.2.2 update? Before that everything was fine. See what I've tried already below.
Model of my phone
>One XL Asia (international?)
Bootloader details
>In the attachments
Current ROM/kernel
>Stock
Current recovery
>Not flashed yet
All events that lead to your current situation
>I haven't done anything to it
What you've tried already
✓unplug and replug (over 9000 times)
✓uncheck and check USB debug (over 9000 times)
✓reboot my phone and try again (a few times)
✓uninstall USB driver on my PC, then reboot PC, re-install (a few times)
✓switch cable
✓switch PC
✓switch USB port
✓switch phone:
magically, when I switch phone, which is a HTC desire, everything works fine, USB detected, adb works well, fastboot command works well
under same condition, everything works fine on the desire, but only when I plug my One XL in, everything don't work, so I bet the problem is on the phone?
Anything else that's relevant
>Phone running Android 4.2.2
>My PC runs 64-bit Win 7
>Maybe what I included in attachment will be useful?
I have the basic knowledge on flashing ROMs and stuffs, but I'm a noob in front of all you gods, please help.

"One XL" not found in device manager, it shows "unknown device" removing that does nothing
Can you get Harware ID for that Unknown device from Device manager??
If you can add that Hardware Id to your Drivers .ini file and update the driver manually pointing to that driver folder.
Edit: I tried the drivers from this post and they worked for me

In the link I posted you will find a link to download the Win 7 64 bit drivers for HTC.
http://d-h.st/OYI
Unzip the archive downloaded from the link. In the extracted folder you will find a file named "androidusb.ini" open it with Notepad and Add your device hardware id found from the device manager to the file like below and save it.
%MyHTC%=HTCAND64.Dev, USB\XXHARDWARE_IDXXXXX
Follow the steps from this link to update your drivers once above modification is done.

sorry i have been busy round these days, no time to deal with my phone
look at the attachments and you'll know why i included some Chinese words, in case my roughly translation is not accurate, you can still copy them and see what google translate says
i right clicked on the "unknown device" in device manager, and clicked into Properties(內容)
and in the 3rd tab(詳細資料), i can't find any similar Hardware Id, but however i found some id-like thing and tried
then when i came to the 10th step of this page: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/update-drivers-windows-7.htm
something pops out and says
您指定的資料夾沒有包含裝置可使用的相容軟體驅動程式
如果資料夾中含有驅動程式,請確認它已設計為搭配 適用於 x64 型系統的 Windows 使用
it's roughly says there is not usable driver for win 7 64 bit in that path file i selected, then it did nothing i have to close it
and i just found out, when my phone is in fastboot and USB connected, ADB command works fine, if you know what i mean
that means, i can unlock the bootloader, but still, i need to backup my apps and data, is there an alt solution for me to do backup rather than fixing the driver and use Helium?

OTG Doesnt Work After Update

Hi All, Earlier I used to connect my pendrive to MOTO G, but after the update of 4.4.4, It doesn't show any files, I have tested using various applications!
When I contacted customer care, One of them stated me to install Astro File manager and check. It also doesnt show. Another One Stated that after 4.4.4 updated it stopped OTG Support!!!
Do you also experience this problem? Is there any fix? I think it connects but doesnt show anything because in one application named "OTG Disk Explorer" it shows a prompt when I connect pendrive
The prompt is shows is "Allow the app OTG Disk Explorer Lite to access the USB Device" When I choose yes, The app says that "Drive cannot open, Please check USB Is Fat32 or NTFS File system"
Hope someone helps me?
Same problem with my phone.
After updating to GPE 4.4.4 it does not connect the OTG automatically.
At this moment I use Stickmount (available on Playstore) to access my OTG.

Root your device and you will be able to solve almost 99.99% software bugs related your device. But at the same time your device will loose its virginity. Within your warranty period if you face any hardware problem, you have to pay to get it rectified. Now choice is yours. At the same time I would like to mention, many users from this forum are using rooted Moto G almost since they bought the device and they are enjoying. You have to be confident enough.
Now regarding space issue, if you are using mobile data plan or wifi, you can enjoy 15+50 GB free Google Drive space from any where and if Moto G gets Android L OTA update, hope the OTG issue will be fixed there.

Do I need to usb install drivers separately for the Honor 8?

adb devices
Just to make sure I'm not just being retarded: I plugged in my phone with the delivered usb-to-usb-c cable. USB Debugging is on. And I set the USB mode to Files in the persistent notification.
I can browse the internal storage and the SD card from my pc.
Do I need to install usb drivers first?
Where do I find the correct files?
The Hihonor support page doesn't even list anything related to Honor 8.
This XDA thread about drivers has a dead link to Huawei drivers.
I don't see drivers on this Huawei Honor 8 downloads page.
The naked driver listed on the xda page looks old, didn't try.
I found a shady page linking to some files by Single Drivers on blogspot and a random G+ message linking to said page.
It's late and I'm tired so I guess I'll postpone the rest of my search for another day.
Does any of you know where to download the correct drivers?
Maybe I should mention I'm on Windows 7. I tried plugging my device in a different usb port but don't get a popup it's automatically downloading drivers.
Have you tried HiSuite?

I didn't see those options. Is it the same as the "photo" and "files" option that appears in the notification?
How do I change my usb modes on EMUI 4.1?

I forgot what drivers I used to make ADB work in mine. But I believe it's a generic Huawei driver. As for USB modes, you can find it under Developer options. OR, enable USB debugging, plug your phone, then you can select USB modes in the status bar.

Yes...isn't there a pull down to change USB options? If not, go into your dev options and chose "select USB configuration"
Developer options and usb debugging were (and are) enabled.
Yes I see now there is USB configuration menu in de developer options. The available options are charge only, MTP, PTP, RNDIS, audio source and MIDI. MTP is selected. I assume the Files button corresponds to MTP and the Photos button to PTP. (or whatever the buttons are called)
I'll look for a generic Huawei driver. I suppose I can find those on a Huawei site
Only generic Google drivers for ADB. The rest, including mass storage, is automatic in Windows 10.
If there's already drivers for ADB, you need to remove them and install Google's.

Generic Google drivers didn't worked for me. At least on my laptop.

Probably you have a different configuration. Throughout all the brands I've used, it was always Google drivers. Sometimes the cable didn't help.

Will check that.

I really couldn't find drivers for Honor 8 even though I found for older Honor devices and other Huawei devices (not sure if those would work, didn't try)
I ended up installing HiSuite and it works fine now. I can see my device in
Code:
adb devices
now.
I preferred not to clog up my laptop even further but it looks useful still.

HiSuite is the last resort if generic adb drivers don't work. Have you tested fastboot?

Yeah issue solved just enable "allow ADB debugging in charge only mode" in developer option.

Poco x3 NFC Windows Drivers?

Can somebody please provide a link for the drivers for the Poco x3 ? I am using Windows 7 and I cannot get shot of the yellow exclamation ! in the device manager. If there is an 'exe' version that would be great as I have had numerous attempts at trying to manually installing but to no avail. Thanks !
Have you tried to install Xiaomi PC Suite? It'll install the drivers for you.

I didn't know this, I will give it a try! Thanks
Well I tried the Xiaomi PC suite , the PC suite does not connect. Says to update my device. Still got the yellow exclamation mark in device manager, but at least I can drag and drop to my phone. I think it's odd they don't provide a driver tho?
Have you uninstalled it first? The driver that was installed by the system I mean. If not try and do it in the Device Manager then reboot your PC with the phone connected. If this doesn't work try a different USB port (all the standard stuff, you know). I'd really suggest that you upgrade that windows to win10. MS has dropped the support for 7. So no more security updates. Also you can still upgrade for free.

Excuse the Off Topic but, having both versions running on different computers, I think that's really bad advice.
If it works, don't fix it.
Windows 10 has given me little more than grief, while a 5 year old install of 7 is running as my daily driver without any major issues.
Security is no excuse here, both OS have attack vectors you must be mindful of -- but Ten's larger user base make it a bigger target... Not to mention MS regular updating breakage (just Google it).
Well I managed to get the phone recognised by the PC using Mi PC Suite. I followed the link here:
China Mi PC Suite with English Translation | MIUI Blog
Xiaomi has Mi PC Suite. It is the all-in-one tool to manage your device. It can install apps, update the mobile operating system, organize files, and so on.
miui.blog
Basically putting the Chinese version followed by some translation files. Recognised phone right away! just don't upgrade the app when it's asks.

I don't intend 'upgrading' my laptop to W10, way too much trouble. Every update something else breaks. There are no supported (W10) drivers for WiFi of graphics so it just runs smoother as it is! Thanks!! W7 all the way!

The OP is here because something actually doesn't work. Telling someone to stay on an 11 years old system based on personal preference is a bad advice. My security example is not an "excuse" as you call it but a good reason (one of many in fact) to upgrade. That would solve the problem OP has and help him avoid many others in the future.

I used the Chinese version and put the English translation files into it. The English standalone did not work
