Is there any application(some tracking app) that doesn't get removed even if the hard reset is done?, please help me to find that. currently i am using cm12 on galaxy s3. i heard that samsung knox does this work is that true? if yes please guide me to install that on my phone.
Hi, I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S6, and tried using the Smart Switch function, however it could not connect the 2 devices. The Sending Device is a Samsung Galaxy S3, running CM12.1 without any errors. Tried searching on the forums, but could not find anything, please help, I really don't want to copy everything manually...
As far as I know by reading on this forum, gear S2 will not connect to any rooted phone because of Android pay. Is this true? Can you confirm that information, please?
I want to root my Huawei media pad x2 and test some CFW on it, but I'm worry that my gear S2 will not connect to my phone anymore after that!

I can't comment on non-samsung phones, but my note 4 is rooted and the S2 3G connects and works well. Pay is not available yet, so not sure if it'll be a problem once available.
No problems with rooted S4.
S5 rooted connect just fine. had problems with both ASUS watch versions, but this works beautifully. No Samsung pay for S5 so...
no man, i got note 3 european flashed in my rom country and rooted. It's a problem of the gear compatibily, unluckily on my xiaomi mi2 i can't did a connection until I update the gear with the last firmware (mine is Asian)
S2 works fine on rooted stock roms but work needs to be put in if you use cm.
I have an unbranded Dutch rooted Note 3 together with Gear S2 working like a charm! Must say that both the phone and gear are original non-import devices, running original ROM.
On my Galaxy S5 Mini (SM-G800F) on Android 4.4.2 (stock ROM) rooted it works like a charm. Cheers

i had Cm and i had to return to stock to be able to sync with the gear s2.
Do you know any way off pairing with cm ROM ?

Yes, you can connect your watch to your phone - even if it is rooted. The Gear app works just fine on rooted and non-rooted phones.
However, you can't use Samsung Pay, on the phone or the watch, if your phone is rooted.

Rooted S5 won't open Samsung Gear
Hey, gang.
I'm kinda stuck here and searching within XDA (or throughout the web) didn't help.
I just got a S2 Classic, which finds my S5 fine; via., Bluetooth.
However, because my phone is rooted (CM13) it won't open the Samsung Gear app; instead giving me a prompt that my, "operating system on my phone has been modified in an unauthorized way".
Thoughts, anyone?

I have the same problem on Galaxy S6. I THINK Samsung pay is not supported on Galaxy s6 for no MTP chip.
. I am a newbie to Android OS rooting.
I have a Samsung S6 that used to be used on an AT&T account and I want to use it to do an experimental change to a newer and simpler version of the Android OS. The phone is not being used at this time, I am now a Spectrum subscriber.
I have installed Root Checker Pro and it reports the phone as a SAMSUNG SM-G-920A with Android version 7.0 and as not rooted.
My plan now is to use the Free-Droid - Rom installation assistant from this thread to do the rooting and OS change.

If someone could suggest a good choice for a custem ROM that is known to be good on the S6 and well tested it would be very helpful.
And any other suggestions would be appreciated too.

I recently learned that the Samsung S6 (SM-G920A) I am working on here is probably a locked and unhackable device. I had chosen to use that as a learning project because I had it on hand and it was not in use on an active phone service account at this time.
So I am marking this thread as "[SOLVED]" and am no longer pursuing getting a custom ROM on the Samsung S6 (SM-G920A).
