On, mac, we have an issue. I am a Mac and Windows user. I can't use my mac for flashing. I need windows. Why, because Heimdall is "compatible with mac". Unfortunately, everyone has had issues with Mac Heimdall above 10.6 Snow Leopard. this means that Leopard and under, work just fine.(I believe) I have Lion (10.7) which also is incompatible with Heimdall.
Dual boot with Leopard or Linux or Windows for it to work.
This guide is for windows
Thanks for all your help

This guide is outdated now and probably a good example of why you shouldn't hard link to a particular version. The latest version (1.3.0) works fine on all Snow Leopard and Lion versions. The READMEs includes detailed instructions for each platform.

Yes, it's normal.
finish flashing phone in rainbow screen for long time
you need the correct bootloaders. Use the heimdall 1 click collection and find the beta 2d kernel with bootloaders. Flash it through the first page of heimdall. You will be good to go.
How would I go about this? I can't run a .bat file through WINE. I want to return to stock 4.0.4
Install the SDK and use fastboot and flash factory images.
Read the guide for unlocking/rooting under Linux if you need it.

No luck. I know I'm doing it wrong. Even after reading the guide. cd~\ isn't doing much.
You can just open a terminal in the directory.
Mint has nautilus. There is a add on for it. I don't think it comes pre installed. Anyways then you can just right click and open up a terminal here. No more cd if you don't want to.
The following link gives instructions for re-rooting a Nabi 2 tablet when using a computer that utilizes Ubuntu Linux operating system.

Can these same instructions be used if my computer is using Linux Mint 13 instead of Ubuntu ?
Thanks.
1 Download MiFlash unlock tool version 2.2.406 from this site https://xiaomitools.com/mi-unlock-tool/ newer versions seem to be broken in wine
2 install wine staging for whatever distro you are using https://wiki.winehq.org/Download
3 extract miflash to a folder
4 run miflash
I have not tested if you can succesfully unlock a device using this method but it seems to be working in wine meaning you don't need to have a windows partition or run a vm just to unlock your device. If you get a white screen after agreeing to the terms and conditions make sure you have downloaded the correct version of miflash. I have also tested odin 13.3 which also works flawlessly
U dont need wine anymore. There is already a mi unlock tool made for linux.
Now U can directly run miunlock tool using linux. :highfive:
Make sure u have java openjfx package installed .

Is here still needed authorized account to unbrick?
"I have not tested if you can succesfully unlock a device using this method" Seriously?
fail
This is not only linux. It can be work with wyne. So it is not linux application.
Is it possible flashing S22 custom rom with Heidall (https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall) instead of Odin?
I am also looking into using Heimdall, I'm a Linux user too. I currently run Manjaro Linux and the Heimdall front-end looks very similar to Odin. The "easy way" instructions say to choose the flash file and flash it. Problem is Heimdall doesn't see the file when I browse to its location. I can also successfully detect the S22U but I can't find read the PIT file. The handshake process fails.
Currently troubleshooting those issues.
