Hi there!
I am experiencing some problems with reception in Australia. I just bought a Honor 6x in Spain and it was working well there with my Spanish operator. I arrived in Australia and I am using my Telstra SIM card and I am having some problems. I can use my data and send and receive SMS, but I can not receive phone calls most of the time and if I try to make a call I normally can not. In many areas in town I have no reception at all. My girlfriend has a Huawei Y6 and is having the same issues.
Last year I had a Motorola Moto G3 and it was the same, I thought it was something with that phone, but now I see it might be something different. People from here having different kinds of phones donĀ“t look like having this problem and friends from other countries never told me something similar. I do not know if it is something with Spanish phones here or if there is any setting I could change.
Please let me know if anybody knows anything about this! Have been looking around in forums and having found anything helpful. I really need some help here...
Thank you!

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum. I've tried searching for some answers but can't seem to find how to resolve the problem. I'm quite new to using PPCs so let me know if there's any information that you guys need.
So my phone works fine in Canada using Rogers... but everytime I go to US, I cannot detect a network for my phone and there's a "!" at the top. I tried searching for a network and it says "no network found" or sometimes it tries to register and then it fails in the end. In US, my phone automatically shuts off... I have no idea how this happens but everytime I go to look at my phone after leaving Canada, it's off. So when I go to turn it back on, there's no phone signal. I have no idea what to do as I'm not very familiar with PPCs.
Thanks for the help!
Which phone are you trying to use? Guessing Touch Pro?
Is international roaming or data roaming added to your account with Rogers?
Hey I have the HTC Touch Pro... yeah I've used this sim with my eten m700 before and it works fine. It just always seem to be searching for a network then it can't find any.
Thanks!!!
are you a prepaid customer? if so, Rogers doesnt allow roaming outside of canada.
Hey there... Just figured I'd pipe in here...
I am still using a TyTN (shopping for a Touch Pro today), and although I was able to always use my phone in the states, since my last firmware upgrade (WM6.1, new radio stack)....
....I can't get any service when I cross the border.
SOMETIMES I'll get 10 minutes of service over the course of an entire day. Very strange.
It is obviously firmware-related... Good luck with your phone...!
Thanks for all the help guys...
Nope I'm not a prepaid customer... should I be upgrading something on my phone to see if it works? Sorry... really don't know much about PPCs here!
just out of curiousty, have you called Rogers to ask for an updated OTA to be pushed to your SIM?
I've contacted Rogers and they said it has nothing to do with them... it's my phone! Should I contact them for the OTA? I'm sorry to be so noobie but... what does OTA do?
Thanks again!
Anyone help please!!!
Is this some kind of standard now, that the phone I bought in Germany is not working in Slovenia and it is not locked in any way.
This is my third HTC phone with this problem. The GSM network is not found and sometimes it is but the signal is weak. It is like the reception would be weak. So 50% of time I am unaccessable (no networks found) and half time I have one line in the signal strength.
I tried SIM cards from 2 of our operators and same problem :-(
Is there any setting/program I could try, I can not believe the radio part of the phone is country specific.
First phone was HTC ONE X, didn't work, when I bought it in my country it did. I bought now HTC Rhyme Lila for my wife, same problem. I exchanged it, the new one is not from France but from Germany, same problem :-(((
Any ideas please?
I have importet 2~3 phones from spain und I had used it in germany without problems.
Last time i was in the UK i got problems but it was a german sim card in the roaming mode and in that case i had problems too. No signal or if I had signal i could not make a call.
Well but if you want to use it for the rest of life in your country have you think about flashing a rom? A custom or a rom of your country? It could help. But bevor flashing read a lot how to do it. In this forum are alot of tuts.
Regards
Hi I'm noob to this site and I don't know anything about modifiying a phone so I need some help I bought a Korean samsung galaxy s3 shv-210l
I have service with red pocket but I only get data on G no 3G i don't know how to get it to get 3G or to show the calling numbers and have a problem with texting too I don't know if my settings are incorrect or is there anything else I need to do I was thinking may be if I root the phone than I may have better luck but I have no clue how to do that either so if any body have some sugestions I will really appreciate it very much.
Hello friend,
I just like you found my self with the same issue. I bought my phone over ebay and I'm pretty sure they seller knew that the phone was defective. At any rate I've read 8 similar cases in the internet about our phone not being able to connect to 3G, I went overseas and it was even worse it wouldnt even register in the networks.
from what I understand its a defect, and you like I are unlucky enough to have it. If you can return your phone I would recommend you do it, as others here have no issues with theirs. If you do happen to find a solution pls post it here I will spread it around to those affected. I no longer have the handset lost it in a trip and bought a note 2.

Hello all, hopefully somebody can help me with this, since it's making me crazy.
I have one 920 and recently got a new 1020 from Movistar (Telefonica), RM-875 with 64GB if storage. Everything was great until they launched their LTE network, and when I got a new sim card, I found out the ROM the phone has, comes with 4g-LTE disabled. Off course I did what anyone would do in this situation: I flash my phone with another ROM and I got my LTE working.
After a couple of days I noted that I was only getting SMSs telling me that somebody called me. Then I tried to call myself from another number and it went straight to voicemail. When I changed it to 3G again, calls worked fine. I know LTE doesn't support voice, so the phone should get a "notification" from the network to change to 3g to get the call, but my phone is not reacting to it. I tried the same SIM with the 920 and this one works as expected, when on LTE it changes to 3G to get the call.
I've spent the last two weeks downloading new ROMs to see if any of those can help me, with no luck at all. My last resort is to flash back to the original ROM and bring it back to the shop to see if they can help me. Oh and it's not hardware problem since a friend of mine with the same provider and the same phone, he is facing the same issue.
ANYTHING you can tell me to fix this, will be greatly appreciated, since is like a disappointing to not being able to be on LTE with my 1020.
Thank you!
Afternoon XDA, bit of a strange problem I had this phone since April and was all working fine. Sometime in June I think after the 13.0.7.0.RKCEUXM installed which was quickly replaced by 13.0.8.0 every long phone call I make cuts off after 29minutes and 50seconds! I've narrowed it down in that it only happens on my Vodafone SIM, another network doesn't cut off and likewise my SIM in another phone doesn't cut off so neither phone or SIM are 'faulty'. It also doesn't happen if I manually force the phone to 3G only mode so really I know the problem is something to do with VoLTE calling + Vodafone + veux phone.
Now Vodafone have run so much troubleshooting and came to the conclusion that it is a bug in Android because there have been reports of some other phones having the same problem including a Sony Xperia and even a Google Pixel 3XL. The worst thing is on there support forum one of the Pixel users started this problem back in 2020 and says it never got fixed for them, yet it's only just started for me with a recent update so I potentially have potentally 20 months of contract left on a phone that can't make a call longer than half hour
Now first thing i'm going to try is unlock bootloader and then downgrade the software back to 13.0.6.0 or maybe even one before and test. But where would one even start to look to see what had changed to cause such an obscure problem? What files or settings could have been changed/removed? Obviously I don't want to be running on old firmware forever and Vodafone are going to be turning off the 3G network soon so my workround will then have me calling over 2G which is crazy on brand new 2022 phone.
Any ideas or suggestions of what else to try from some more technical users would be appreciated. Vodafone say they are working with manufacturers to sort it put it doesn't produce much hope if they couldn't fix it on a Pixel phone after 2 years and that bug has now still followed to much later phones. They also don't seem very clever saying things like because a brought the phone from another store not them direct the VoLTE won't be supported. Now I may be wrong but seen as it did work, and still does but only for half hour this can't be right. Also unlike other maunfacturers Xiaomi don't do carrier branded firmware just EU, CN, MI etc so there is no Vodafone firmware special to a handset brought direct from them? I remember having to flash a Xperia phone about 6 years ago to branded firmware to get WiFi calling to work but Sony do have all the different firmwares for every network it seems.
