Dear fellas,
So I was trying to download the Google camera app port from here:

And after downloading it, I had no luck in launching the app, not even after trying to:
- Clear cache and data for both the stock camera app and the Google one.
- Enabling Camera2 API, by adding this string to build.prop: 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1'
- Rebooting the device multiple times.
So now, after I gave up on getting it working, I uninstalled the Google camera app, and removed the added string to build.prop, and cleared the cache and data for the stock camera app. Then rebooted the device.
Now when I try to shoot using the HDR mode on my stock camera, the app freezes and it crashes. And it won't open up again until I reboot the device. I can't manage to get it to shoot in HDR, but other modes are running fine.
Does anyone know what to do to solve this? Or even if it was possible to run the Google camera app?
I am running a rooted Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, 128 GB
Running on: MIUI Global 8.5 | Stable
8.5.2.0 (MBGMIED)
Will copying the original build.prop for my device solve this? I don't have the original one though. So any thoughts would be much appreciated!
Is there anyone else whose whatsapp front camera is not working after recent app update? Mine was working before not working now.. Any fix anyone can suggest?
Mine woks perfect frontal camera. Whatsapp versión 2.18.248 in china model phone. Firmware 1.18.4 [emoji1360]

Go to settings-->More settings-->Applications-->All-->Whatsapp-->Permissions and see if camera permission is checked. If not, just do it !

I have global version and front camera not working.
I also have the global version with the latest update and all possibles permissions, but the front camera does not open on Whatsapp. If someone has a solution it's nice
Global version, latest whatsapp and firmware. Front camera is coming up nice and smooth. I gave all permissions when asked for.
Maybe re-install whatsapp?

It's still not working for me
Front camera popup not working for me till this date for whatsapp & facebook both. While it's working fine for instagram & duo.
All app permission given and updated to latest version for app & phone it self.
Need a solution. Tried clearing data & cache for both the apps as well reinstalled both but no help.

You need to go into settings---more settings---applications---turn on the front camera and check it out.

I have a OnePlus 6T and a LG V40 both phones are having the same issue. The built in camera apps link to Google Lens won't launch Lens, it acts like it's trying but doesn't. If I use the Google Lens App itself it works. Both devices are running Google Play Services beta and Google beta app. Ive reset both apps, Lens and Camera apps neither work. Any suggestions?
After the new Google App Beta everything is back working.
Anyone here who is using a google camera port that works on our device? I always get the App Not Installed issue when I try to install them.
WhatsApp camera is using the Ultrawide lens, everything is barrelled (curved). Instage uses the main camera and other apps do as well. No way to tell WhatsApp which camera to use, unless anyone knows how too fix this?
It's not a Bug. The Facebook Company just has the worst Developers so far. WhatsApp mimics that pretty good... All they had to do would be Reading Out the Camera ID's correctly. Other Apps don't have that Problems. Check Open Camera for example which can Switch an Show all Camera Moses/Sensors... You could leave a 1 Star Review on the Play Store Like i did plus contacting the Support. That could Help...
I fixed the WhatsApp Camera issues with MARS_SOM BETA4. Flash also works fine now with the Camera (Timing works now).
