This is looking like it’s going to be a great device; this just may be the next big thing. Hopefully we will know a little bit more soon. As soon as I can get the device in my hands, I will post my review of the Find 5. I have been in contact with Oppo about receiving the Find 5, and have received a very positive response from them. Hopefully I will be able to give you more information soon. The device is packed with the latest and greatest hardware, but we all know that the hardware alone will not make a good/great phone. I think that we as a community need answers to some very important questions, and I plan to get as much info as I can answered for you. I know that the community has a lot of questions about the device, but please be patient. This might take a few days but I will update the post as soon as I can get my hands on it so I can make a complete thorough review.
I am working to get the answers to a lot of the questions that a lot of us would like to know before we consider to purchase this device. Such as the following questions which I have asked Oppo are the following.
1. The first and very important question is how open is the Oppo Find 5 going to be to the community and its developers?
2. Will Oppo release the source codes, and if so will it be in a timely manner?
3. Will you have an unlockable or unlocked bootloader?
4. Is Oppo going to release up to date software and push it out in a timely manner?
I will also put a video on YouTube with a detailed review of the device including its software and hardware abilities. Stay tuned because I will post a link as soon as possible for the review. Hopefully Oppo will have the device sent out to me so soon as I know that a lot of you are interested.
Until now there is no collecting thread about the Oppo Find 5, right?
Here are my Benchmark-Results of the Oppo Find 5 - 32GB Version.

Hey guys, i bought this phone two days ago, first thing i did was check for a Thread but no luck, i saw one for the Ascend Mate 7 and one for the Ascend P7. Can you guys open a thread, i don't really understand why there's not one available, it's a mid—range beast, pretty good phone and i guess i am not the only one waiting for some proper rooting and some custom roms for...
Still have a good one, hope someone checks this.
Peace
Huawei Ascend G7
Mid—Range Beast
Wow, still not an answer...
I would like to join the request. It is a very powerful handset and it could have good scene regarding ROM developing.
Cheers!
I have been thinking about something... what about if g7 owners donate money to a developer? We could donate so the dev could buy the phone and start working on a ROM. I guess there are a lot of us interested in this and there is maybe a developer interested aswell.
With Regards Dedz
Yes, i vote too for this section for huawei ascend g7. Please open a section for us too. Thank you
Lets hope they hear us ...
If you have not already done so, please post your request in the thread linked below.

I am not asking what phone should I buy.... I am just asking here what will be the future of development of huwei honor 5x in XDA. Because this Chinese phone has decent Internal hardware under the hood. But due to some reasons nobody ever talked about this in xda. But i want to discuss what other people are thinking about development or what future do they see ??
How to find out which device have most active developer support and all custom ROMs etc etc..
Or in other words, which device developer use most.
Because everytime I buy new device there isn't any developer support. Now using Lenovo Vibe p1m, but device forum not created here in XDA.
Buying new device next year January.
Not asking for device suggestion, only wanted to find out how to find most developer supported Android Device.

In 2013 I saw a device called mi2s for the first time, and its parameters were very good and it had a cute interface. But its forum was not as active in xda, though in en.miui.com/forum the development and themes/apps sections were active.
Well then I had to have a bigger screen and tried to buy a samsung note 3 in 2014-2015. In Turkey there was only exynos version sold in stores. I looked at its forum it was nearly empty. Then I looked at snapdragon forum. It was very active (users+developers). So I bought a note3 from abroad. And thanks to devs in xda, the note 3 snapdragon forums are still active and we can get newest updates from other devices' ports. Though some devs left, new devs came, the cycle didnt stop (and I hop it will not:fingers-crossed: )
In conclusion, I think it is the users' duty to look and search for forums one by one and find a device which is "developeing" as he/she wants. All in all, you are not expected to develop or help in development. All you do mostly is to find link, download and install/flash. I think the duty of searching is infinitesimally small when you compare it to the one that developers do.
Try looking at the forums. As my example above, there might be even differences in development between different versions of same devices.
Cheers

Probably the Nexus line, alternatively OnePlus or all latest flagships in general (HTC 10 or Samsung S7). Chances are low for good custom ROM support if you buy cheap devices.
I found, Snapdragon devices have most custom ROMs compared to MediaTek and other.
So anyone looking for mobile device and developer support should buy Snapdragon device?
Hi,
So i remember last time when k20 was launched the development was like rocket, even though its has bootloader lock/hard brick issues.
With k30 nothing is happening not even close to k20, like no development is gonna happen am seriously geeting Asus Zenfone 6z vibes now.
But i still hope its gonna be start moving anytime soon:fingers-crossed:, if this month goes dry, i think i am gonna have no choice than selling this device.
Hope this worth it.

I think we should see a lot of things moving in after 72 hours, because that is when most of the guys will be able to unlock their bootloaders. We have 15 devs or more who got these devices so we should see a lot of development once bootloader is unlocked.
This thread makes no sense. There was a bootloader unlocking issue which has caused the delays. Also POCO has sent the devices to developers which is a great initiative to begin development on this device. If you wanna sell the device go ahead and stop ranting as it creates a negative impression in the forum.

Boootloader locked issues, and yet there is only one thread and i don't even faced it. No body did on eu community as well.
Asus sent devices to developers as well, i can see how much development is there with one lineage os and one kernel.
This thread is not rant, you are who consider a concern as rant. Non polite shills like you make xda look bad, no wonder people are moving to telegram.
I don't need your advice upon weather i should sell my device or not.
Next time just scroll past.

Wow, why do you have to be so rude/aggressive, man?
Anyway, the phone is not even up for sale in many European countries including mine, so no wonder there is a lack of development for it...

You do realise this is the POCO X2 forum and not the K30 forum? Despite being the same devices POCO X2 got the bootloader unlock at a later time. And all I repeat all of the users have faced the issue including the developers.
POCO has the history which Asus didn't. POCO F1 was a sucessful device. The K20 had a single forum hence so much development. Since the same device has been divided into two this causes problems.
And please read your own post, you are the one who's saying where are the ROMs without even knowing the reason. Saying i'm going to sell the device sounds like a threat more than a concern.

Asus 5z has a history too, what happens at the time of 6z, Poco f1 is different category ask the company ceo,
Poco x2 fourm not k30? Yet i have bought this phone from flipkart India, and able to unlcok bootloader, install twrp from chinese dev and now using MIUI EU 11, you don't even know what are you talking about.
I never said where i
are ROMs, by slow development i meant no beta/alpha twrp or no gsi.
How come me going to sell my device become threat to you, are you poco? Are you xiaomi? Did i bought device from you?
Me selling or keeping my device is non-of your concern. I just showed my concerns and opinion of device not worth it without any development signs.

iirc the Redmi Note 8 Pro was also given to devs for development however with no success. I can understand his concern.
It's too early to access development as ir4hul says though..
I wish people would just wait a couple of weeks and have a look at development progress before commiting to purchasing a device if Custom Rom is such a priority.
I sincerely hope the POCO X2 experiences the community love the F1 saw.

Give it time bro. Bootloader unlock was just recently achieved, also developers have their own work to do ?. I'm sure it will be amazing development community within 2 months, just like poco f1

Redmi Note 8 Pro was a different story I guess because of the MTK chipset. The devices were getting bricked easily and it became very difficult for developers to test.
But yea. I agree that it is too early to judge development of Poco X2.
check here: its already started
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-k30-5g
a working recovery has already been done, hope people from both forums collaborate together soon...
a unofficial LineageOS 17.1 port is already in ALPHA stage, hope we can boot it on poco x2 with very less effort
