Why isn't note 8 (phone) listed in new phones or popular phones or any forum at all? - General Questions and Answers

Isnt note 8 popular enough to get it's own forum like s8 and s8+?
Cause i need to find a tutorial of how to root it, but this page seems to be broken.

Hi I'm not sure about this page , but I just want to let my problem to everyone who will be able to see and please share your idea if you know .
My hand set is samsung galaxy note 3 made in Vietnam and not able to root it shows UDC START when I run uden after that can't do any thing.
Which means can't run uden and no root.
There are a lot of choices:
iPhone 6, Sony Z3,Z3 compact, LG G3, Galaxy S5, Oppo flagship and so on.
2013 flagships dont dissapoint aswell, if you want some of your money back.

Google daydream

Hi everyone,
I am using the Gear VR with my phone but for sure it lacks some features. As I see the google daydream is much interesting and I would love to try it/have the headset when iz comes out. What worries me now is if our devices (Exynos) will be supported for the daydream.
What are your toughts on this, do you think we will be able to use it?
The Pixel/XL are the first Daydream ready phones. Going by that, I assume that means that no phones before them are compatible.
Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
It's true but I'm also curious if it is able to work at least partially. E.g. play 3D video.

The google phones are the first which are officially daydream ready, but there are other earlier phones which are earlier produced and confirmed to be daydream ready like the ZTE Axon 7 and Asus Znefone 3 Deluxe. What about that fact?
Also I do not see anything better in the Pixel phones (hardware) (I have read somewhere that it has some additional sensors but I do not see them on GSMArena) which would limit our devices, so if it is just software it will be for sure accessable maybe via root if no official support is granted.

S Note

I can't find S Note in the Samsung store.. i totally rely on S Note for work. Samsung Note is not as capable. I've had to side load it, but why is it not available for Note 20 Ultra.

Yes that's what i did.. I'd just rather not have to. The extra features that you can download in S Note settings won't download now aswell.. it keeps saying not compatible with my device. It's so annoying of Samsung.

There's no way i can see when cropping an image, or doing it free hand, crop any part the S Pen touches. And there is no shape menu. I like using the shapes in the Other menu in S Note when your add an image.. it's just alot more flexible and useful with S Note.

Yes it's more than annoying. Had to pain stakingly cut and paste all the memos I had on my S4+ to another format.
Never again will I trust this type of Sammy apk.
I use colornote now, still playing with it or I'll create a word document instead.

I'll check it out.. the integration with the Note Phones, the S Pen and S Note is such a good formula.. these companies have to be constantly changing things, trying to maximise profit and customer retention... Ruining efficient work flows, trying to create the next big thing... and even when they create the next big thing: they can't let it be good for long. Only Apple seems to keep things on an even level.. but their way of doing things is just not the best way in the first place.

ColorNote stores them as encrypted word docs apparently.
At least you have easy access to the folder to transfer them. It also maintains an internet connection which I don't like...

Where to buy "already" rooted phone?

Hi, I am just not getting it. Spent money on two phones to see if I can unlock and root them, and it is not my forte! Don't even know where to start because there is just too much information out there when I search online.
Is there anywhere I can just buy a rooted device, or pay someone to do it. Since every search on the Internet leads back to this site I thought I should ask it here. If I am in wrong section please let me know.
Thank you
As you want to root your phone, I'm assuming you know how a phone works and how to differentiate models and variants!
You can't buy an already rooted phone, as none come with it. If you want a phone that is easy to root but still good for a daily driver, you have to know the following criteria:
- Very popular brand (Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo)
- Has to have a Snapdragon processor (mediatek phones are harder to root)
- The specific device should be popular on XDA (examples include Redmi Note 8 Pro, Poco X3 Pro, most samsung S devices that have Snapdragon processors)
- Samsung S (s22, s20, s8, etc) only have Snapdragon CPUs in countries like the USA and I think China

yeah, but if you buy a oneplus don't get anything above the 8 lineup as they just get worse from there
and if you get a pixel 6 series i can't guarantee anything about that tensor chip being even bootloader unlockable

recipy for DISASTER. don't buy a pre rooted phone, who knows what keyloggers and spyware can be put alongside that root? i wouldn't risk it at all, in fact i wouldn't buy any daily driver thing from ebay outside of like a phone case
Thank you for the replies. I will keep reading and researching. I bought a Motorola G Stylus (2021) just now, and gave up on the Samsung s10e. So far I have been able to get adb and fastboot working. Reading on XDA to figure the rest out.
Very popular brands (Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, etc) tend to lock down their devices entirely. one can't just unlock bootloader from fastboot. beware of random guides, they often outdated or too broad.
before buying a device
- get confirmation that bootloader actually is unlockable (with regards to android version/carrier/branding etc)
- check community development is active (TWRP available? custom ROMs?)
you can do so by reading the proper section to device model on xda-developers
(if you can't find it, don't buy it)

about every phone is on xda, just that many don't have populated Roms and Kernels sections (ie: huaweis) so make sure it has 7-10.000 messages at least if you want a really good starting point
Nobody should buy an already rooted phone.
You should ever re-flash the full stock, format data and then, re-root the phone by YOURSELF.

Hi, do you have any specific model you can suggest? Considering the following:
I want to buy an android that I can root for sure, no matter how old it is as long as it runs Android 6 at least, I need it to be as cheap as possible, and I want to buy it in USA, compatible with T-Mobile carrier which is the one I use
I bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B3F9BRF9 and it was compatible with TMobile but there's no TWRP or info on how to root it, so I'm seeking for some old phone that actually works and is rooteable. I want to run some experiments but I need root access.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I found several Samsung S7 on Ebay that could work, do you think it's a good match for rooting?

No, I don't. I only know that OnePlus Oppo Realme devices belong to bbk and are hard to unlock with fastboot disabled.

Xiaomi devices are still unlockable, but you have to follow special procedure, and it doesn't work for blacklisted devices.

download your phone firmware using same binaries
found it on download mode
extract on pc
copy the ap file to the phone u wanted to root
download magisk apk
click install magisk
select the ap file
wait
then there will be patched ap file
move it to the pc
flash it with odin
after flash install magisk
your phone now rooted
There are channels to buy pre-rooted phones, but I assume that we are not supposed to publish these things on XDA.
