So, I have been connecting my vibrant to my tv and streaming movies from my tab using Allshare. I would like a VNC program which works allow me to remotely control my phone from the tab. The data cable to rca and/or hdmi dock for the tab is too hard to find right now and I have the video cable for the vibrant already. When/if I get the tabs cables, I will probably want to control the tab from the vibrant.
Big kudos to anyone who solves this one.
I frequently use the hdmi adapter cable to plug my s3 in to an external screen for videos and msg throughout the day.
my question is: is there an app that turns the screen into a laptop style touch/gesture pad? i use a bluetooth keyboard with it all the time, and if i could just use the screen as a touchpad, it'd save me from needing to purchase a bluetooth mouse.
i have searched google and this site, but i believe i may be using the incorrect search terms. i cannot be the first person to think of this! thanks in advance!

For videos and messaging, I just skip the screen mirroring and use Airdroid. It puts all the info in a desktop view and eliminates the need to even have the phone nearby.
Sent from my sexy phone using XDA Premium
Daemon, I appreciate your input, but that's not what I want. I do not have or want the screen that I connect the s3 to connected to another computer. I simply wish to use the touchscreen on the s3 as if it were a laptop style touchpad for itself, so I do not need a bluetooth mouse.
On a similar note, I am looking for an app, that would allow me to change the resolution of the operating system, or at least certain apps (like browser, etc) so that when I have the s3 plugged into the screen, it looks more like a computer's view- not like just mirroring the phone view onto a bigger screen.
Thanks in advance!
Is this possible? I recently bought a Samsung Allshare that I can run through HDMI to any TV, but it seems it'd be a simple program that I could run on my MK908ii and just be able to do the same thing. I've seen the little mirroring icon on my phone where I can watch videos and/or pics that I've got saved directly on my phone, but I'm more or less looking to be able to mirror EVERYTHING so I can watch sites like MovieDroid, Showbox, etc without having to carry the Allshare from TV to TV since one of my TV's always keeps this dongle in it anyways. I don't have internet at home (long story), otherwise I'd just run the movie apps directly from the MK908ii...before anyone asks.
Bump
Hey everyone.
I need some help with an HDMI- DVI problem on my MK808B Plus
Goal:
Connect my Android Mini-TV (MK808B Plus) to a specific PC monitor.
Problem:
Monitor has a resolution of 1440x900 and no HDMI.
Story:
I have an old monitor as described above that i want to use for a small project. This project involves an android device. I chose to go with the MK808B Plus. Knowing the connections available on the monitor, i also bought a Mini HDMI to DVI-D adapter cable. I hooked it all up and the monitor detected the input but wouldn't display an image. Just random lines sometimes and then black like it was attempting to connect.
I then hooked it up to another monitor via HDMI and it worked just fine. I then plugged it into the same monitor's DVI port using the adapter and the monitor seemed to see it, and try to display it, but to no avail.
I would like any and all help i can get with this problem. If need be i can even swap the android stick for another model as i have just purchased it.
Thanks
Looking for the best way to connect my g7 power to a Panasonic Viera non smart tv.
I pay for BT sport which works on my phone but trying to get it working on the larger screen, tried various apps and firestick mirroring but non seem to work.
Does anyone know if a cable is available that would work or is it not possible with my set up.
As far as I can find Motorola doesn't include support for video out over USB-C. USB to HDMI cables won't work.
Casting is the only option.

Thanks for replying
Do you think Chromecast would work
I've tried mirroring to the Firestick and although the g7 finds the the Firestick signal it asks for a password, that I've never set up and it's not the wifi password and I can't seem to find much info on it.

Should. Casting per app works better.
Not sure on the Amazon gear, never used one. I'd expect something in it's setup to set/show password. Maybe a few searches for help?
You can purchase a USB 3.0 laptop dock with DisplayLink technology to mirror your device directly to any HDMI enabled device.
I own one, and have been using it extensively for months now.
It is important to keep in mind, you do NOT want a USB C DOCK. A previous poster explained this device doesn't have all the extra circuitry, so you cannot pass a 'protected' stream through the dock. In other words, many apps won't display the video playback on the dock.
BUT!!!! Most, if not all, video services that have a website appear to play just fine mirrored (use the website, not the app!)

G7 Power does not support Miracast, apparently. Only chromecast.

Google dropped Miracast from Android 6. So an OE has to add it back. Motorola is running nearly stock Android and isn't going to add such.
And as time goes on I expect only Samsung and LG to continue it since they sell TVs. But they may be forced to stop by Google's certification rules.
I think Lineage still includes support so if 3rd party ROM ever show up there may be options.
There are other casting apps that work (most need an app on the display too), but not as smoothly as built in Miracast. I tried a few in my Roku, but they really weren't worth the effort.

I've tried all of these "apps" most are basically a shortcut to the wireless display screen, My Razer 2 was still mirroring perfectly on Pie, but this moto? I've been able to enable the wireless display check box but every time I try to connect to either Fire Sticks/Fire TV, or a brand new NEX series head unit the phone crashes and reboots. I think after enabling the wireless display again its just a problem of screen resolution differences and rotation, looking into it. There are also a couple modules in Magisk to enable it. It crashed and bootlooped my phone and it was a pain getting it back. I do not recommend them with the G7 Power.
