So I finally did it. After having numerous issues, replacements, etc, and an offer to "upgrade" my 4g to 3g......what a joke.....Verizon finally agreed to move my replacement date up from 11/12 to now. Any new phone but apple 4s what what I am told. The delemma at hand....do I spring for nexus, razr, or wait it out and see what come in the next few, months? Currently on the charge with root n some minor weeks. Thoughts?
Sent from my xoom, through my charge via wifi tether, while sitting in the middle of nowhere, all while being chased by manbearpig.
I would keep the Charge unless totally not useable and you need it for work. As they say new things are always coming out and the Nexus is probably old news by now lol. My wife kills her phone and complains. I was up over 15 hours yesterday and talked, texted, sms, pictures and still had 40%. Only 1 FC and it was a known issue.

Nexus won't be old news until. Ext nexus.

How did you manage to get them to move the update? I've gone through five replacements in the last three months and my upgrade date is 11/23/12.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
Numerous calls and denials, finally emailed them, got a response to call customer service, explained that all i wanted was to have my date moved up. Got transferred to customer loyalty, they ok'd it. Only thing is, no apples and i have to call in to purchase since my online account still shows my 11/12 renewal date but yhe notations say that i am ok to upgrade.

Nexus is pretty awesome. By the time a SGSIII comes to Verizon we will probably be nearing towards the end of the year again
This is going to make me go back to GB. Custom ROMs and stock ICS, when I receive a call, it will display the number, but no name for a second to 10 seconds.
Why does it take ICS so long to query the contacts to match. Is there a fix for this?
There is a super annoying friend of mine that has several numbers and so help me if I accidentally pick up his call again, Im throwing this phone.
Ive stood behind my Nexus S and android, still want to love it, but ICS is just crap for now.
i noticed that too in SGN

x2, I thought it was just my phone...
I get the same thing on my phone. Never got the delay using Gingerbread.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
I'm having this delays too!
But they usually don't exceed 2 seconds, nothing like the 10 seconds waiting time up there...
More often then not, its within a couple seconds for me, but a few times a week, it will just not display. And thanks to this issue, I had to talk to this person for over an hour.
I would love to know why this delay exists and if there is a fix. It happens on other phones too, not just the nexus s.

I always let the call go straight to voice mail if I don't recognize it. That's funny to read though.

yeah it really is a PIA
Same here, thought last ISC update might have fixed it a bit but delays still happen. In fact my nexus S is much slower with ICS. With Gingerbread I never experienced any lags of any sort.
Same here.... Pretty annoying ****

Does any one have any idea as till when i will get 4.4.3 update im now on 4.4.2 completely stock unrooted and with no modification.
Its hard for me to wait here i cant use side load via adb so still waiting for ota please someone can have a rough idea as what is the maximum time possible to get the update thanks in advancd

I don't think anyone really actually knows since the ota comes in batches from the Google Gods. Just wait, you aren't missing much at all. It could be your carrier too. Overall, I've noticed no difference other than a new dialer screen.

The update really isn't something to write home about. But I understand the wanting to test it already we have been waiting for this update nearly half a year already. Like said above me the OTA rolls out in batches which usually means by region.
Try finding the Nexus 5 OTA URL thread. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you could flash the OTA URL .zip being completely stock.
In the possible worst case scenario, you're either gonna be waiting a few more days or you're going to end up rooting, and rooting isn't bad. (Which again probably is the point we all have a Nexus 5 )

I have a Nexus 7 2013, and original Nexus 7, and a Nexus 5. I got 4.4.3 OTA on the Nexus 7 2013 Thursday at around 3:30pm. Still waiting on the other two, so it sure seems random. They definitely aren't going by the registered gmail accounts on each device, since all 3 are the same for me, and they are all within a few feet of each other, so geography doesn't seem to be a factor either. I could sideload the updates, but I'm actually kinda curious to see how long it takes to get it over the air .
You will notice 0 difference in 4.4.2 --> 4.4.3 unless you had the camera battery drain.

It's not random, it's in batches as said already. There is no way a Nexus 7 and a Nexus 5 could be considered the same batch. They're not even the same device.
Just wait. It will come. Be patient.

So, it is now Tuesday Jun 10, and at about 3pm the update showed up on my Nexus 5 (installed fine, I got re-rooted no problem). Just waiting for the original Nexus 7 now.

And another week later, Tue Jun 17th, and 4.4.3 finally showed up on my original 2012 Nexus 7, so it took quite a lot of time for all 3 of my Nexus devices to get the OTA update (but it did eventually happen .
Hello everyone I just got my Nexus 5 this past Wednesday and while i was typing a text message with google messenger out of the blue it vibrated for 1 second, I turned off all alerts and no other notifications were seen. Anyone know why it did this ?

Mine has done that too. It occurred while I was viewing email and I thought perhaps it was an ad vibrating my phone. I'm also getting about 50% of my calls while the rest are sent to voicemail with no explanation. I'm contemplating going back to lollipop
Same here
My nexus 5 started to vibrate while i was texting. The vibration was continuous.I was really scared so thought of rebooting now its good and no more random vibrations
Flash new ROM
Which ROM are you using?
Maybe this is a bug which is ROM related.
Just flash a newer version of your Rom.
It's weird alright. On my old Nexus 5 it vibrated like crazy every time I shook the device ?

I turned off vibration on keypress for the Google keyboard, I doubt that was it but you never know we will see
