When will i get 4.4.3 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does any one have any idea as till when i will get 4.4.3 update im now on 4.4.2 completely stock unrooted and with no modification.
Its hard for me to wait here i cant use side load via adb so still waiting for ota please someone can have a rough idea as what is the maximum time possible to get the update thanks in advancd

I don't think anyone really actually knows since the ota comes in batches from the Google Gods. Just wait, you aren't missing much at all. It could be your carrier too. Overall, I've noticed no difference other than a new dialer screen.

The update really isn't something to write home about. But I understand the wanting to test it already we have been waiting for this update nearly half a year already. Like said above me the OTA rolls out in batches which usually means by region.
Try finding the Nexus 5 OTA URL thread. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you could flash the OTA URL .zip being completely stock.
In the possible worst case scenario, you're either gonna be waiting a few more days or you're going to end up rooting, and rooting isn't bad. (Which again probably is the point we all have a Nexus 5 )

I have a Nexus 7 2013, and original Nexus 7, and a Nexus 5. I got 4.4.3 OTA on the Nexus 7 2013 Thursday at around 3:30pm. Still waiting on the other two, so it sure seems random. They definitely aren't going by the registered gmail accounts on each device, since all 3 are the same for me, and they are all within a few feet of each other, so geography doesn't seem to be a factor either. I could sideload the updates, but I'm actually kinda curious to see how long it takes to get it over the air .

You will notice 0 difference in 4.4.2 --> 4.4.3 unless you had the camera battery drain.

It's not random, it's in batches as said already. There is no way a Nexus 7 and a Nexus 5 could be considered the same batch. They're not even the same device.

Just wait. It will come. Be patient.

So, it is now Tuesday Jun 10, and at about 3pm the update showed up on my Nexus 5 (installed fine, I got re-rooted no problem). Just waiting for the original Nexus 7 now.

And another week later, Tue Jun 17th, and 4.4.3 finally showed up on my original 2012 Nexus 7, so it took quite a lot of time for all 3 of my Nexus devices to get the OTA update (but it did eventually happen .

Another phone question

So I finally did it. After having numerous issues, replacements, etc, and an offer to "upgrade" my 4g to 3g......what a joke.....Verizon finally agreed to move my replacement date up from 11/12 to now. Any new phone but apple 4s what what I am told. The delemma at hand....do I spring for nexus, razr, or wait it out and see what come in the next few, months? Currently on the charge with root n some minor weeks. Thoughts?
Sent from my xoom, through my charge via wifi tether, while sitting in the middle of nowhere, all while being chased by manbearpig.
I would keep the Charge unless totally not useable and you need it for work. As they say new things are always coming out and the Nexus is probably old news by now lol. My wife kills her phone and complains. I was up over 15 hours yesterday and talked, texted, sms, pictures and still had 40%. Only 1 FC and it was a known issue.

How did you manage to get them to move the update? I've gone through five replacements in the last three months and my upgrade date is 11/23/12.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
Numerous calls and denials, finally emailed them, got a response to call customer service, explained that all i wanted was to have my date moved up. Got transferred to customer loyalty, they ok'd it. Only thing is, no apples and i have to call in to purchase since my online account still shows my 11/12 renewal date but yhe notations say that i am ok to upgrade.

Nexus is pretty awesome. By the time a SGSIII comes to Verizon we will probably be nearing towards the end of the year again

Red ("stuck") pixel

I got my Nexus 5 delivered(upgraded from a Ace s5830i!, hella difference) yesterday
I've got a red pixel in the middle of the screen that won't change.
It's barely a problem because of the fact it's really small on such high PPI.
It's just i don't like it it is there. This one is a rev_11.
The only thing i ever did was unlock the bootloader, put TWRP on it and install the SuperSU binary.
Anyone that can help me on this christmas day?
The only thing i can do is send it back to my subscription provider and get a rev_12 , but it will take several weeks to get it shipped back. So it will only be my last solution.
FYI, i'm willing to do anything i can without having to ship it back, atleast if it's reasonably safe to do so.(Incl. Factory resets, different roms, safe physical methods etc.. etc..)
Greetings,
BrianJ64
P.S. Merry christmas everybody!
You can try one of the many pixel fixer apps and let that run for a couple hours. If that doesn't fix it, send it back.
I had a green stuck pixel and had to RMA that one. Had the new phone within 3 days.

For some reason, the problem vanished after flashing stock using the factory image???
Maybe it got unstuck in download mode or boot loader mode

[Q] Nexus 5 touchscreen suddenly stopped working.

Hello,
My Xperia Z broke and I sold it. Last week I bought a Nexus 5 (white) and yesterday the touchscreen suddenly stopped working while browsing twitter. I rebooted and the touchscreen worked for 1 sec and then it stopped working again. It keeps working for 1 - 5 sec and then stops.
Is there a way I can fix this? The phone is rooted because I wanted to copy WhatsApp over from another phone because I lost my sim bound to whatsapp.
I can go to the shop I bought it and get it fixed under warranty because I did not do anything weird with the phone nor dropped it. but first I want to see if it can be fixed from home or if it is a software problem because the shop is a hour drive and I don't want to do without my phone for another 2 weeks.
Thanks in advance!
This should have been posted in q&a, not general. But to answer your question, you're going to have to warranty it.
If you want to be sure it's hardware, reflash the factory image and see if anything changes. But it's most likely hardware at this point.

I hope we are not going to get this part functioning screen problem with the N5. I bought a Nexus 5 last week only because part of my N4's screen stopped responding to touch after having it for only 14 months from new.

If it's happened to two of your devices, maybe it's something you're doing to it.
Edit: disregard, I mistook you for OP.

nexus 5 reliability.

I got my nexus 5 and after one day of using it I'm getting non stop reboots.
After getting off the phone with Google they said the best thing to do is send it back and get a refund so that is what I'm going to do.
Now what I'm looking for is to know if there is any problems with the nexus line?
I would love to pick up a another nexus 5 but don't want a phone that is plagued with issues.

my nexus 5 has never had a reboot in itself, only when i caused it to reboot. i would say thats noy a common issue. like all other devices, the n5 isnt perfect, you can get one with issues. but generally, the nexus 5 is very reliable.

messing with kernels and changing system files generally. plus i like experimenting and trying out different things, if they will work on the nexus or not..
I don't think my N5 ever had a random reboot, no matter what I did to it . ?
No random reboots here and I'm always flashing away...

That's good.
I really like my nexus 5 .
So it's good to hear this is not a common problem.
i will most likely be getting a new nexus 5 when i get my refund.

Yes, I think I've maybe had 1 random reboot in the 6 months I've owned the device and that was probably back on 4.4.2 anyway. I've kept it on stock as the Nexus software is so minimal. From what I can tell, 4.4.4 is rock-solid as I suppose you would expect the 4th iteration of Google's stable software to be - it seems you were just very unlucky with a dodgy device.
After 11 months my phone has rebooted on it's own only one time. I fired up Chrome and it rebooted, so I'm assuming it was a error with Chrome.
The Nexus 5 has been solid for me. Have you tried doing a hard reset?
PS-back up your data first...

I did.
It would all so lock up when resetting it from the boot loader.(I would have to restart the phone two to three times before it was wipe/restore)
Google said that i may have faulty memory.
I had some bad luck in the past with the samsung galaxy nexus with the pop sound/restart problem.
Samsung made a big batch of phones that had this problem and i wanted to make sure i was not going to be running in the same thing over again.
sorry for my grammar and spelling .I'm a bit over tired

Note 8 battery life

Hi all.....I have an AT&T Note 8 and the other day it did the software update (3BRB2) for the Feb security update.Since then, my battery won't even get me through the day with light use!
I am a heavy user for my job, and have always been able to get thru the day with no problem. Now I am lucky when I get to the afternoon!
Has anyone else who recently did the security update had this issue?
Thanks
I did search but found nothing directly related to this particular update..........LOL.
Hmm. Haven't noticed but I will keep an eye on it. I am also a heavy user for work so I will notice immediately. Today I worked from home so its been hooked up to a charger all day.

Me too on AT&T February update, me too with Note 8 but I don't see any battery loss o faster discharge. Try to reboot or restart your Note if that doesn't work then Factory Reset but that's is the last option you know that's work time after factory to configure as it's was. No matter what but every time I Factory Reset my formers phones configuration again is a fact, the back up and in a zip everything is back don't work for me.
