I have tried this process and it does not seem to work.
1. Install custom ROM
2. Ensure OEM Unlock is ticked in Developer Options
3. Reboot to Download Mode
4. fastboot oem lock
5. Flash stock RUU
6. Reboot
Can you please advise correct process?
Cheers
Flashing RUU does NOT relock the bootloader !
IF OEM UNLOCK IS GREYED OUT, it's unlocked already ! It doesent matter for what we are addressing.
1. Make sure to remove micro sd cards, or you CANNOT relock !!!<-----
2. FOLLOW STEP 1.
3. make sure USB DEBUGGING is ENABLED.
4. Boot into DOWNLOAD mode, and only download mode will work. Hold POWER +VOLUME DOWN or type, "adb reboot download" from fastboot directory.
5. Type, "fastboot oem lock" and a screen should pop up asking if you want to lock the phone, select YES or NO with the volume button and press power button to confirm choice.
If you want to unlock again you need to reflash the unlock token.
Usually, the culprit is the micro sd card as I found out. I also had relock trouble and tried a bunch of incorrect steps in other posts. I even got in touch with HTC special projects, but I figured it out and told them what I did.

Download mode, flash stock firmware (same version as what was on it before it was modified/corrupt) via sdcard method. All data will be lost.
See this thread too:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/u11/help/sprint-version-bricked-t3823545
It should be a total reset and therefore should not ask you for a pin as far as I know.
A couple issues I have come across in trying to recover and revive my phone. First, I am not able to find the stock OS that the phone has (2.42.617.6) I am able to find this one (2.42.617.7). I just hate to send the phone back to HTC and have them charge me up to $200 to unbrick my phone. But it is what it is...

I relocked my u11 with the Sdcard in, I flash stock ruu first & do a factory reset first, make sure USB debugging is enabled after flashing via Sdcard method, I also never have a problem using 125gb Sdcard ,which some say you doesn't work, I've done this on EU software, I don't always use the exact same version is 2.33.401. The prefix after doesn't matter, it's a slight down grade but same mid & cid, this worked for me on u11 & u11 + , I only get oem grayed out when debugging not enabled

Maybe the EU software is a bit different, my HTC U11 was the Sprint version (USA) and removing the card was the only way it would ever re lock. I have since upgraded to the Note 8. Not getting 8.1 through my carrier was a factor, as was wanting to try Samsung Gear VR. I enjoyed my U11 immensely.

Yes, first of all i read all other Threads with the Words (Stuck and Google Logo) and i use Google. I spent yesterday about 5hours und could not fix the Problem.
So, i tried to install a ROM (CM9), i do that with the Guide from nexusshack..
I think somewhere between (Wipe System) i got the Problem. Now my Nexus S Stuck in the Boot - i made some Screenshots.
Maybe someone can help me?
same problem here any help?
Would be useful if you could point out your nexus S model...
Anyway, since you have access to bootloader, just flash cwm recovery with fastboot, go in recovery and wipe all, mount USB from inside recovery and transfer another rom for your model to the SD card. After that just flash the new rom and it should work.
nexus s 19020a
Yup....just flash custom recovery....then you can flash other rom..
Hey guys,
like mentioned in my thread before a week ( I will let it die ;-) ) I got the same problem with an I9023.
I flashed factory images including bootloader and radio,cwm-recovery via fastboot, every single action succeeded, but I still got stuck in this *%&/(()-Google-Screen. I cannot boot into recovery, only bootloader is working.
i have the same problem does any one have a suggestion !!
thanks in advance
Had the same issue about one month ago. It was when I installed CM9, there were missing drivers. Do not remember, which exactly.
What do you mean with 'drivers'?
nexus S was in locked state...can't able to unlock thorugh "fastboot oem unlock" (FAILED <remote:ERASE FAIL>.. even all drivers were installed properly...if i try to get in to recovery mode there is an exclamtion mark...what it that..???
It means you have no recovery installed... Use Odin to flash a stock rooted Rom then flash recovery you must have erased everything now you need to start from scratch...

This is just a copy of the guide on myhuawei.net.
I did this because I had some trouble finding the guide since I always look for stuff like this here on XDA.
I also decided to do this because the guide was not in English and the translations by google were not so good.
Huawei Ascend Y201 Pro U8666
Root + CWM Recovery
I am not responsible for any damage you may do to your phone by following this guide.
The files you will need, download them and extract them to a folder on your desktop:
RootY201Pro.zip
UnlockBootloader.zip
Recovery.zip
(PS: Links removed, check post attachments)
- Now, get your phone and go to Settings > Developer Tools. Make sure USB debugging is enabled.
- Also disable Fastboot in Settings.
- Connect your phone to your computer via USB and let it install the drivers. Make sure they are installed correctly. Do not select "Turn on USB storage" on your phone.
Root + Unlock Bootloader:
1. Go to the folder on your desktop where you extracted the files.
2. Right click on unlockbootloader.exe and select 'Run as administrator'.
3. Click "ROOT Your Phone", the program will work and then close on it's own.
4. In your phone, go to the apps drawer and there should be a new app called Superuser.
5. Now go to your PC, open the same program, but this time click "Unlock BOOTLOADER".
6. Let it finish, the program will close on it's own, and then power off your phone.
7. Unplug the phone from the PC and we are done.
You have now successfully rooted and unlocked the bootloader of your device!
Installing CWM Recovery:
1. Turn off your phone if it isn't already.
2. Press and hold the following buttons simultaneously for ~10 seconds: volume down + home button + power button
3. Release the buttons and your phone should not boot, it should be 'stuck'. That's what we wanted.
4. Connect your phone to the PC via USB. It should install the drivers fine.
5. Open CMD and browse to the folder in your desktop.
6. Once you are in the folder type the following commands:
6.a) fastboot erase recovery, then press Enter. Let it work...
6.b) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, press Enter and let it work again.
6.c) fastboot reboot, and press Enter...
7. Your device is now rebooting. You can unplug it from the PC.
You have now installed CWM Recovery.
Instructions on how to boot to CWM Recovery:
1. Turn off your phone.
2. Press at the same time for ~5 seconds: volume up + power button
3. You should be now on CWM Recovery.
Don't forget to say thanks or to donate!

Hello, I have a
Nexus 5, bootloader unlocked on kitkat 4.4
I somehow forgot my new 4 digit unlock PIN i put right before I went to sleep.
I can't connect to my phone with the USB, doesn't show any files. Neither it has usb debbuging on.
I've entered PIN over 500 times but i still dont have "Forgot PIN/Password/Pascode" button.
I CAN'T , in no possible way wipe my data because the items i have there are crucial for me.
If there is nothing I can do then ill go hang myself.
Thanks
If your bootloader is unlocked you can flash a custom recovery, then pull your data from there using adb.
If your data is so crucial, maybe next time the best thing to do is keep backups and/or don't solely keep it on a mobile device.

In a custom recovery you have access to the entire /system and /data partitions once you simply mount them.
1. Boot into the bootloader
2. Flash a custom recovery using fastboot
3. Boot into recovery
From there on you can either use adb pull to retrieve files in your Internal Storage, pull app data if you know how, or remove the set lockscreen PIN/whatever itself.

You won't flash to "no recovery". There is a stock recovery (you can only really wipe data/cache from it hence the need for a custom one).
Technically you voided warranty when you unlocked the bootloader and triggered it's tamper flag, but it is easy to reset and relock after you finish doing whatever you want to do and reflash factory images.

Ok, i've got into the recovery. How do i erase the lock pin?
Nevermind, used this link to solve the problem
http://www.androidfanclub.net/2014/03/reset-android-pattern-lock-password-without-erasing-data.html
I'm not certain of any conditions that you need to have fulfilled in the past but try this. On any computer go to https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager login using the Google account that is used for the device and you should be able to see your device. Click on "Lock" and you get:
New lock screen
Your current lock screen will be replaced with a password lock. Don't use your Google account password.
New Password
Confirm password
Recovery message (optional)
That gets sent to the N5 as the new lock screen and hopefully problem solved.
Today I tried to flash a new ROM and basically bricked my Z3. However, I was able to install a stock firmware and got the phone working perfectly again. Problem is, I want to install a new ROM (elsewhere in the forum) but I have lost my recovery mode and fastboot mode. Can anyone explain how I can get them back or install a new one? I tried flashing the TWRP recovery onto the phone but it keeps coming back with an error. My phone is not bootlocked and is rooted. I just want some kind of recovery options. Please help.
Thanks in advance :good:

make sure you take a backup becuase this will wipe the device!!!!
1. reboot device to fastboot mode
2. run the flashall.bat file in NMK24B folder. this will downgrade everything to android N.
3. let it do its thing, once finished reboot device.
4. go through setup process then re enable usb debugging and reboot back to fastboot mode.
5. run fastboot command : "fastboot flashing unlock_critical" it should return device already unlocked.
6. place the 2 modem files in where you have adb/fastboot installed.
7. run command: fastboot flash modemst1 modemst1.img
8. run command: fastboot flash modemst2 modemst2.img
9. after both are flashed reboot device back to OS and you should be unlocked now.
10. you can now take the most recent update via ota and still be unlokced.

Sometimes it takes 1 day for this to work
Thank you so much for these instructions.... :highfive:
It's been so long since I used adb, it took me 10 minutes to hunt everything down again.
I completed all the steps, a few questions.. (observations really)
It pulled all OTAs and is now Android 10.
The phone does seem to work (data and voice).
It's also displaying my Verizon number.
However under "About Phone", the SIM still displays as Sprint. :silly:
It does not bother me. Just wanted to bring it up in case it turns out to be a broader issue.

This amazing tool does exactly that. Even a Sprint Locked phone with the Nag screen can be fixed.

make sure you take a backup becuase this will wipe the device!!!!
1. reboot device to fastboot mode
2. run the flashall.bat file in NMK24B folder. this will downgrade everything to android N.
3. let it do its thing, once finished reboot device.
4. go through setup process then re enable usb debugging and reboot back to fastboot mode.
5. run fastboot command : "fastboot flashing unlock_critical" it should return device already unlocked.
6. place the 2 modem files in where you have adb/fastboot installed.
7. run command: fastboot flash modemst1 modemst1.img
8. run command: fatsboot flash modemst2 modemst2.img

Here is a couple of posts that have outlined the process better:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75507693&postcount=221
However, I have to caution you: you will be altering critical partitions on your phone and if you don't understand what you are doing and just blindly follow the posts you can make a minor mistake and brick your phone.
If any of those phrases sounds unfamiliar to you then don't try this method or at least ask someone with more experience to help you:
Unlocking bootloader
Flashing factory image via fastboot
Backing up and restoring modemst partitions
my adb says waiting ''for any device''
