S6 Reboot loop/freezing constant blue notification light - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Left it to charge over night and when I looked at in the morning it was stuck on the samsung logo screen, Holding power button down on it's own does nothing and I have to hold all 3 and do a complete power down, I can get into the recovery menus sometimes but it will freeze again before I can do anything with them,Any way to fix this? I haven't tampered with the device in anyway either.

Oi Mate...
first of all, important:
For a Power Reset you push Power-Button and Vol-Down and keep pressed until it resets. NOthing more, nothing less.
Try to get into recovery to try some wipes (Data, Cache, Dalvik). Be warned: Data-Wipe means clean-wipe. ALternatively try to get in into DOwnload-Mode to see if you can flash a stock image.
YOu still might be unlucky. Now the time is starting where lots of S6's have 2 years or more of heavy duty behind them, so the population will definitely start to decrease. Good that I have 3 of them... Returns from colleagues from work meant to be thrown away .... NOT!

Silly me but that is what I meant anyway, Only managed to get into recovery once and it froze just as I managed to select cache, Will attempt a few more times then just accept it as a lost cause, Had the thing since August 2015 anyway.

Stuck at 1st boot screen

I've looked all over for the answer to this, and I've tried multiple things but nothing seems to be working. Last night my phone froze (for no apparent reason) so I pulled the battery. The first boot screen came and went but the 2nd doesn't show...it stays blank and then eventually I hear the noise my phone makes when it's fully started up, but the screen is still blank. I have to push menu and the home and call keys a couple of times to get the screen to turn on, and then I can see everything seems to be up in the background, but when I go to unlock my phone it doesn't recognize me pressing the buttons (to unlock the SIM) so I can't get any further. When I do home+power combination, the screen with the triangle and exclamation point comes up, but it won't recognize any of my button presses. I tried to use fastboot to bring it back, and it says everything went through but when it starts back up the same thing happens, it won't recognize me pressing the screen to unlock the phone. It will take maybe the first 2 keys I press..and it will lag while it takes them...but after that it doesn't take anything else. I don't know what to do so if anyone can help or might know what could have happened. Like I said, I was just on the browser last night looking around and it froze so I pulled the battery. Oh and I'm running JF 1.50 if that matters. Thanks guys.
Did you install hardSPL?
If not, maybe you can create a goldcard (search in this forum) and flash the basic system on it again!
I have the SPL for Sapphire ported to Dream.
I might have to take it in to T-Mobile because it boots up and just automatically freezes at the main screen.
The only thing I'm worried about is that I changed the first boot screen so if I do end up having to get a new phone I'm going to have to pay for it
wipe wipe wipe
no need to take it to t mob just wipe take the sd card put it in a sd card reader load up the root/hack rom and go from there no need to take it back cause t mob will tell hell no when they try ro boot it up
I don't know how to wipe it without going through the bootloader and that won't load up.
I also don't know how to flash an update without going through bootloader so I'm stuck.
try this
pull the battery hold down power + home put battery in without taking your fingers off thoses buttons wait till bootloader loads. it happent to me an endless loop everytime i pulled the battery it would power up without touching the battery so thats what i did

Serious boot-problem - HTC HD2

Hi,
I got my HTC HD2 only a couple of weeks ago, and I already got a problem with it
The thing is, that I can't boot it up properly; when pressing the "Turn on/Turn off/hang up"-buttom, it boots by comin' up with the white screen with the green "HTC"-logo in the middle and some system information in the left buttom.
Afterwards the animation with "quietly brilliant" comes up and the Windows logo with the orange background comes up - and then it turns off and boots up again.
I've tried to...
* reset it (not hard reset - I have some contacts that I don't wanna loose).
* charge it up (I can, when the windows-logo appears, see, that the battery's full)
* pull out the battery for several hours
Please help - I'm very sad about that I used tons of money on a device, that now won't work.
Is there any way, where I can solve the problem without loosing all my contacts?
I did it!
Ok, found out that all my contacts were synch'ed with my gmail.
I hard-resetted it, and it works now.
Thanks for your help
Lol well done!
For people that dont have push/exchange contacts etc, always backup using myphone, spb, sprite or other software.
Cant tell you enough how important it is to back up, unless you like loosing everything right?
Greetz.
Boot problem..
Hello there,
I bought my HTC HD2 like 2 months ago, and the first two days it froze like thrice !
Now, suddenly i find it turned off then when i try to boot it up, it get stuck on the white screen with the green "htc" and information in red to the bottom left. It hangs there!
It did later show the following black screen with white text:
"The device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tired to install an application from untrusted source. Press Volume Up to reset your decice or press any other button to cancel. This operation will delete all your personal data and restore the device to it's factory settings"
but the thing is, i can't press anything at this stage, nothing happens....
I did try to hardware reset, charge, remove battery and put back, etc..

You tried:
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it.
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
If that dont work try flashing a new rom using mtty.
If that still doesnt work I would expect it to be a hardware problem, i would send it back to htc or if without warranty take it to a Phoneshop (or open yourself), probably a wires loose or something.
Thank you for replying... but sadly no, it didn't work
I do have warranty, ill take care of that..
Thank you again.
did hard reset and returned to factory settings. all my installed applications were lost. pity.
All I wanted is to install the @#$%% russian keyboard!
ALWAYS backup first. Simple.

If its brand new out of the box, id take it back and get a different one. If its second hand, see if you can get into bootloader. If you can you can then flash a stock htc rom, if not its back to the shop.

Hard reset not working (among other things) on samsung captivate - please help!

I got carried away there, so I'll summarize:
Yesterday most of the apps on my phone started crashing. I tried clearing from recovery mode, but nothing went away. Today, I've tried to reflash to stock to get the phone completely clean, but also no good. Even using master clear and reflashing the rom doesn't clear the phone out. Everyone says it works, but the applications are all still there after the reboot, except now they all crash, including launcherpro, leaving me no way to do anything at all on the phone
I'm desperate because my phone is currently unusable. Please help!
Update: I found another method for doing it, listed below, which worked. Still no data though
Anyone have any ideas what might have happened/how I can fix?
2.- :::: CAPTIVATE HARD RESET :::
captivate must be powered OFF to perform this reset, If the device is on, turn it off
- Press and hold both volume buttons + -
- While holding down volume buttons + -, press the power button while maintaining the volume buttons pressed in for around 5 seconds
- Release volume buttons but, keep the power button pressed
- you'll see at&t start up animation release power button
- menu appears
- follow instructions using volume buttons
delete cache data, press power
delete all user data, press power
reboot system, press power
*** (optional) turn off the phone, put my sim card back, turn the phone on
Holy crap... I don't know what's wrong now... I did "Delete user data" and "delete cache" from the boot menu, and STILL everything is there!
What is wrong with my phone?
reflashing to stock... hopefully this does the trick...
ok I went through the process of flashing to stock, and it said it worked, but the old applications are still there!
Now, when I reboot, I get a ton of force close messages; presumably everything that normally would be launching on startup.
how do I actually clear this device and get it back to stock?!
for reference, here's the page I used:

Hey there,
I'm afraid this won't help much, but in the end I had to call the AT&T warranty department and get a replacement phone. There's a 1 year on the phone, and while I had to jump through some hoops, they did replace it. If you're within 30 days then you're definitely in luck, as you can take it back to the store you bought it at
Good luck!

Nexus keeps rebooting. Even if I'm in recovery trying to reset, it reboots

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my Nexus. It started rebooting every 5 seconds, with different outcomes.
At first it was rebooting, then updating the apps, then when it reached the block screen, it reboots.
Tried to enter recovery and it reboots even in recovery.
I can't recover the data because the system is not up for that long to allow internal drive recognition.
What should I do in your opinion?
I tried also to clear cache or enter safe mode, but it reboots anyway.. During the spinning logo, before, after. It's quite random.
Power button could be stuck
I have the same problem, although it comes and goes over the last 24 hours. At first I thought it was an app, then I thought it was Android System WebView. I saw a post that said it could be a sticky power button, so I tried pressing it in different spots and that seems to have fixed it for now. I may get the power button replaced if this persists.
Sounds like a bad power button. There are a few threads in this forum about it. Best solution is to have a lab replace it.

Is this the end of the line for my N5?

I'm a serial lurker here and hate to ask for help, but want to reach out (and finally start hitting thanks).
My N5 was on MMB29S 6.0.1, SuperSU version 2.65 for root, xposed v79 (gravitybox, APM+, snapprefs), and ran perfectly fine up until a few weeks ago when I started having issues. Apps would sometimes FC, and (not always right after) system would hang and then reset. Sometimes the screen would go black but notification light still would blink.
Upon reset, it would either (a) get stuck at google screen and bootloop or (b) get stuck at some point during the boot animation. If the phone did start, it would usually work for a variable amount of time - minutes, hours, but usually not more than a day. Other times, the phone simply would not start and required a slowly increasing amount of time to boot while holding down the power button, sometimes not even booting at all. The phone would sometimes be unresponsive to holding the power button for up to 12 hours before the phone booted up again. Not saying I help the power button that long, but tried frequently over that period of time.
Over the past few days I've taken to troubleshooting in the ways I could think of and what I've read here on xda (I can link to any of the threads if you are curious) and the rest of the web. I started by disabling xposed, restoring stock boot image and removing root, and have since flashed completely to stock MMB29V and have followed the advice of @audit13 to even flash the userdata.img file and perform a factory wipe before booting the phone for the first time.
Nothing works. Even after being bone stock now there are still random resets, with the power button having to be held down for quite some time to power back on (if at all). The only difference is that it hasn't been getting stuck on the boot animation when it does power on.
I'm a bit sad, and realizing that this is probably the end of the line for my venerable Nexus 5, but any help/suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance!
Download the Nexus Root Toolkit for your computer to try to restore your Nexus.
Could be a power button issue that's causing the resets? Have you tried removing the motherboard and quickly pressing and releasing the power button several times in a row using more pressure than normal?

I have yet to try that, but will try that in the next couple days. Might not get to it tomorrow as I have an upcoming exam.
I'm not completely sure if that's it though since the system seems to hang/freeze before powering down, but I can give it a shot. Thank you for the idea!

As a last resort I could try that -- how do you think that would solve my issue? Thank you!
Maybe a battery problem? I'm just guessing at the different things that may cause a boot problem or resets.
