Oneplus One Not Making Calls Over UMTS - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Oneplus One which I flashed with LineageOS 14.1 will not make calls. I have gone into the *#*#4636#*#* menu and saw that the default mode is LTE/UMTS auto (prl). If I switch this to GSM, calling works fine. Is there a way I can unlock an option for LTE/Gsm or make calls over UMTS somehow? Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Was the VoUMTS working in previous ROM?

On the last CM13 stock ROM, I am pretty sure that there was an option for LTE/GSM auto(prl), and that is what I am trying to get back here.

[Q] [SOLVED] Nexus S loses signal after reboot

Hi All,
After unlocking the bootloader, I used paul's Superboot to get root and used ROM manager to flash the latest CWM. All is well except every-time I reboot, I lose the signal (it shows emergency calls only) and I have to search for available networks in Mobile network settings.
Anyone else having this issue? Any fixes?
Cheers,
Sonny
Solution:
In the dialpad enter *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone information
Scroll down to preferred networks
Select "WCDMA only"
Click on Update
You need to re-enter the SMSC Carrier number. For WIND Mobile Canada, SMSC is 16135009000
Android requires you to enter this info in Hex.
Hex = 07916131059000F0
In the dialpad enter *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone information
Scroll down to SMSC field, enter 07916131059000F0 and done. Then reboot.
Me too
I have the same problem, anyone else?
Anyone else having this issue?
@sonnysekhon
sonnysekhon, although not a solution, turning Airplane mode on and off resolves this faster than searching for the network operator then registering.
i get that on my XT720
but not on my SNS
even on the XT720 it is only until it finishes booting up.
i think the SNS is faster than the XT720 when it comes to finding the signal

Ah, thanks, I missed it. I don't re-read OP on most threas unless it's a dev thread.
Sorry to post to an old thread, but I also get this problem.
I'm on stock 2.3.4 with 9020t nexus s, upon reboot it goes to a "no service" and I'm on mobilicity. Does anyone have the smsc # for mobilicity?
I've found 16478000106 on a random post and it doesnt seem to fix the problem. I've switched it to hexi format, to 0791617408000106 with WCDMA only and still no fix.

Hey,
For Mobilicity Canada Hex = 07916174080001F6.
Just tried 07916174080001f6 with WCDMA only. Still comes up with "No Service" at the top notification bar. Also tried to manually select and reboot the phone with the smsc settings.
Is there something I'm missing here? I've gone back to stock waiting for cm for 2.3.4 which I'm a bit paranoid it might have tampered with few settings.
EDIT: Problem fixed! Went to wireless settings and hit "Search automatically" and rebooted the phone. Connection was a zero for 10 seconds or so until it locked in with network. No service is definitely gone, thanks again Sonny!
Does anyone know the carrier info that I need for Koodo Mobile? I tried calling them but they're useless.

Nocturnal SE Rom Question

Does anyone that has this ROM running know how to keep your network preferences after rebooting? i.e. I'm using the Network app in the ROM to change my network type to 'WCDMA preferred' from LTE. This works fine, however, when I reboot the device, it defaults back to LTE mode.
Any clues?
Thanks

It's normal for it to revert back to LTE it doesn't stick to whatever setting you set when you reboot. You are required to change it every time.
Cheers.

Thanks for the input. I recall when I was running the stock Rogers firmware, I changed it to WCDMA Preferred and it stuck there even if the phone rebooted.. thought it was available for the same functionality on the rom..

Probably defective Modem or EFS

Hello, so I have a problem with my OPO. I was flashing some kind Android 6 rom (going from cm13), and when I flashed, I noticed that IMEI is gone, there is no Baseband version, and it doesn't detect SIM (no network). I tried flashing stock cm11 through fastboot, and then at step called rpm or smth my OPO died. Screen and everything went black (it was hard brick). I managed to fix it with some kind of chinese Qualcom tool (with Color OS). After reviving my phone from dead, I once again flashed cm11 and now it went all good. It works well, IMEI is there, SIM is detected, but the problem is, now everytime I try to flash other rom, there is no signal. All things working, except signal. Maybe there are additional steps going from android 4 to 5? I just flash roms through TWRP. Maybe I need to update modem or something?
Thanks for help guys
Right now stuck with cm11
First make sure you have TWRP 2.8.6.0 not 2.8.7.0 then flash this: https://basketbuild.com/filedl/devs?dev=jgcaap&dl=jgcaap/OnePlusFirmware.zip

What exactly does this firmware do? Actually I can't make or receive calls on 4G, idk why. Tried every ROM and modem out there. Data works fine, just the calls...
Edit: I'm already using the 2.8.6.0 version

The firmware contains the modem for the phone, and this is the latest. Try OxigenOS modem if this one doesn't work. If i try to make on 4G, the phone locks itself automatically on 3G/2G while the call is on

Try changing APN, make sure you are set on LTE/GSM Auto
If you are in USA use LTE/GSM/CDMA auto

Update Sprint Profile on CM13? Can't Get Mobile Data to Work!

I'm working on transitioning my Galaxy S5 from Sprint to Ting ... but I'm running into mobile data problems and I hope someone on here can help! I went back to stock so I could update the PRL (profile) and everything seemed to be working okay. I went back to CM13 and I can make phone calls just fine, but the mobile data does not work. In CM13, I can't update the PRL like I can with the stock rom. Anyone have a workaround for this? Is there a way to update the PRL in CM13? Will mobile data work even if I'm able to update the PRL in CM13? Should I try another custom rom or should I just make do with rooted stock? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Did you edit the apns to add in yours for ting? There is probably also a flashable zip to do it. I'm not on ting so not sure but as a boost client I have to flash APN fixes.

Thank you for your response! It prompted me to start digging more into the APNs and trying to figure out what needs to be done further. There is a Ting APN in CM13 ... and after messing with it a little, I at least got to the point that I could get 3G data working. So thank you for that!! I can't get LTE to work however. I'm in the process of digging around and trying to find out how to make LTE work.

Good luck man. I'm not on ting but if you could report back, after getting it to work, for others on ting. That would be awesome!
I ended up using the new 6.0.1 stock rom posted by muniz (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ment/rom-g900ppca-6-0-1-stock-rooted-t3387717) and LTE works flawlessly on it. If I can figure out how to carry and integrate the APN settings from that rom into CM13, I would probably be all set. But the key is figuring out how to make that happen.

You can either find a working app to back them up and then restore the APN in your new rom. Just go after and make sure it's enabled. Or you can wrote down the APN settings and manually add them in on your new rom. You can do it!
I extracted the file from Ting APMv5.zip and placed it in the /SYSTEM/ETC directory. I had to use root browser to have the privileges to do that. I then used the "change APN" app from the play store to "reset to default". I have to go through this every time I update to a new nightly, so I don't think CM13 includes the Ting Apn. Hope this works.
