Update Sprint Profile on CM13? Can't Get Mobile Data to Work! - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm working on transitioning my Galaxy S5 from Sprint to Ting ... but I'm running into mobile data problems and I hope someone on here can help! I went back to stock so I could update the PRL (profile) and everything seemed to be working okay. I went back to CM13 and I can make phone calls just fine, but the mobile data does not work. In CM13, I can't update the PRL like I can with the stock rom. Anyone have a workaround for this? Is there a way to update the PRL in CM13? Will mobile data work even if I'm able to update the PRL in CM13? Should I try another custom rom or should I just make do with rooted stock? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Did you edit the apns to add in yours for ting? There is probably also a flashable zip to do it. I'm not on ting so not sure but as a boost client I have to flash APN fixes.

Thank you for your response! It prompted me to start digging more into the APNs and trying to figure out what needs to be done further. There is a Ting APN in CM13 ... and after messing with it a little, I at least got to the point that I could get 3G data working. So thank you for that!! I can't get LTE to work however. I'm in the process of digging around and trying to find out how to make LTE work.

Good luck man. I'm not on ting but if you could report back, after getting it to work, for others on ting. That would be awesome!

I ended up using the new 6.0.1 stock rom posted by muniz (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ment/rom-g900ppca-6-0-1-stock-rooted-t3387717) and LTE works flawlessly on it. If I can figure out how to carry and integrate the APN settings from that rom into CM13, I would probably be all set. But the key is figuring out how to make that happen.

You can either find a working app to back them up and then restore the APN in your new rom. Just go after and make sure it's enabled. Or you can wrote down the APN settings and manually add them in on your new rom. You can do it!

I extracted the file from Ting APMv5.zip and placed it in the /SYSTEM/ETC directory. I had to use root browser to have the privileges to do that. I then used the "change APN" app from the play store to "reset to default". I have to go through this every time I update to a new nightly, so I don't think CM13 includes the Ting Apn. Hope this works.

APN issue after flashing Bricked

I flashed the new Bricked kernel today and it messed up my APNs. I can't change the MCC and MNC values. If I try to the APN won't be saved.
I already superwiped and reflashed everything even with different kernels but the problem still exists. My phone shows it's roaming and I don't have data access.
Now there's even a carrier list that wasn't there at all before.
Someone suggested I should remove market access emulate on boot, but I don't know how to do it.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

No that does not help. I was on the 3.33 firmware and I even reverted back to 3.32 and an older radio to try my older setup and see if that fixes it.
I still have no data Phone still roaming
Now I even flashed an old stock GB rom with old Hboot and old radio.
For some reason the phone still thinks I'm using Vodafone...
I tried APN Backup & Restore. When I backup the APNs it saves a xml file with a lot of carriers in it. Way more than what the phone shows
in the system. It only shows the Vodafone ones. Heck, I even have a carrier named "My Dads Internet" which is also weird.
I really have no idea what to do now, should I get a new SIM card?
Please help!
Well... 2 days of trying to figure this out. No solution.
Maybe my SIM card thinks I'm outside the country. I guess I'll have to call my service provider and see if I need to get a new SIM.
:/
Wow this is terrible ! I've never heard of this happening! I would definitely call carrier and see if you need a new sim card or what can they do on their end to fix the issue, especially if none here knows a fix or responds. I just wanted to wish you the best and let you know I really hope your issue gets cleared up soon! Please let us know what happens and what the fix was ok. Good luck to you!!

Thanks, I just put the SIM card in a friend's phone. Same problem, so I'm glad to know the problem is with the SIM card and not the phone. That's definitely a relief.
I'm calling my carrier!
Just to close this thread in case anyone is suddenly having this problem, you either installed Market Access or Market Enabler or your SIM card is just not working correctly.
My problem was the SIM card, I got a new one from my carrier, everything is working again

Pretty sure I messed up my phone and I need some help with possibly fixing it

I followed the super guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709) to a T and got cm9 on my phone. I was having data issues last night so I downloaded that Phone Info app from the Play Store. I changed some settings to try to improve it. It switched my data over to roaming and I haven't been able to get it out of there. When my phone tries to activate, it tries to go through Metro. Anyone have any idea what this is all about or how to fix it?
I once got stuck on cdma through phone info.. it wouldnt stick to lte ...i had to flash the stock image in odin to fix it.

I'm having the same issue as you. was using CM9 for a while and I think I was messing around with some of the mobile network settings and it never quite worked well again. I used odin to flash to stock rom and nothing. new SIM from verizon store and still nothing.
haven't tried the phone info apk though.

How to get out of ROAMING? (after flashing 10.1 official)

So...I went ahead and flashed the Dec 24th official 10.1 release with data working. I flashed with TWRP and it went smoothly. I couldn't activate the phone because it was stuck in roaming. I tried what ever I could do but could not get out of it. So I resorted back to full stock from verizon locking and un-rooting. Did that and I also flashed a stock radio. Still cannot get out of roaming mode.
Any suggestions? Kind of in desperate need of data to get a working phone!
Thanks in advance. I'm sure this problem has come up among many of you.

I thought flashing "[OFFICIAL]CM10.1 Official Nightlies for D2VZW GSIII (12/24 Official Data Works)" was the latest one. How would I go about "fixing" the mobile settings? via the settings menu? I cannot access that menu if I need to go there. I need to get past the activation screen. Also I am not so sure on performing the four corners trick in order to get past that screen.
thanks

Gotcha. Did it and it seems to be fine now. Many thanks! Now I am hesitating going back to 10.1. I think i'll just stick to CM10 for now. until such time everything gets fixed.

i just posted a fix topic for this but here this is how i got mine to work after flashing CM10.1 the 12/24
If you remove ur sim card and boot up and connect via wifi, u can then register and set up the phone. then shut down put sim card back in and boot up. go to system settings -> More... under wireless and networks -> mobile networks -> CDMA subscription and choose RUIM/SIM (NOT NV)

I didnt see a responce from here but ill do my best, flash back to the stock ROM using ODIN and you should be put back into the operating system still in roaming mode then you dial *2767*3855# as soon as you hit the # your phone will download a file and re-provision itself which will fix the roaming error.

Moto G 2015 - 3gen , Virgin Mobile XT1548 Cdma , No Custom Rom Avaliable

Good , someone who knows if there any Rom compatible with the Moto g 2015 1548 Virgin Mobile XT , cdma , as I tried eh cyanogenmod 12, 13 and do not work, flashed in and fix apn 3derp.
forgive mistakes but do not speak English and I am using translator:crying:
Put cm13, gapps and APN fix on your SD card
Boot to twrp
Wipe everything except SD card
Flash cm13 and gapps
Go to mount and Mount system
Now flash APN fix
Wipe cache and reboot system
I would also like a way to get custom roms to work with this phone. I have tried many different roms and the apn fix, and none of them allow data to work.

This doesn't work. I tried it. I believe that it is because I am using a Data Done Right plan from Walmart. The version of the phone that I have only accepts the Data Done Right plans. I believe that they might use a different APN. I have searched for hours on the internet and can't find anything that works.

I actually just searched the telephony.db file using sqlite and found the correct APN, and then I manually entered it into the rom and it worked. There were almost 3000 different APNs in the XML, so that approach was almost impossible lol. It was much easier to extract the correct APN from the telephony.db file because there was a "current" attribute in the "carriers" table that specified the currently used APN for the stock ROM. I made a post for the fix in a different thread. Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65987522&postcount=1254
mine wont let me manually enter it
