Gear S3 Frontier on iPhone (Pls don't hate me) - Samsung Gear S3

So, I know this site is mostly for android and such (definitely not iphone) but I'm currently using my Frontier on my iPhone (I use it because i'm still financing it, if I could, I would go back to android) but is anyone getting disconnection issues on the frontier (by disconnection, I mean when my phone is far away from my gear and i try to reconnect it, it wouldn't connect and I would have to perform a light reset to fix it) ? My iPhone has this problem the most, but it also happens on my Nexus 5x sometimes, could it be my watch or could it be because I'm not using a samsung device?

I have the same configuration as you (Iphone and gear s3) and the same connectivity issue. I need to restart the Gear to recover bluetooth connection between Iphone and gears s3

I had the same issue. The connection on my iPhone 5S wasn't stable at all. Didn't find a solution.

The problem I seem to have is if it disconnects I cannot get it to reconnect. I want it to connect via mobile network but the phone tries to connect via Bluetooth. It turns my phones Bluetooth on and of course it can't connect Cause I have Bluetooth off on the watch. I don't understand why it won't connect via mobile when it finds no Bluetooth

Note 5, Gear S2 Classic: Bluetooth connection cycling

I have a Note 5 and a Samsung Gear S2 Classic. The bluetooth connection between them, at times, is very intermittent. Sometimes, the connection stays rock solid for hours.
Sometimes, it disconnects, I reconnect using the Gear app, and it disconnects again as soon as I put the phone to sleep. I'll cycle through this four or five times, then it finally stays connected. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, since it has occasionally disconnected with the phone awake and the Gear app on screen. Oh, and it isn't a range problem unless 3 feet is too far between them.
Samsung support walked me through a factory reset of the watch and uninstall/reinstall of the gear app, but it didn't resolve the problem...trying to find enough time to once again be online with them.
Prior to the Gear S2, I had a Pebble Time, which never lost connection.
Android version 5.1.1
Gear S2 version R732XXU2AOJ3
Hi,
have you found any solution to your problem yet? I encounter exactly the same one with a Honor 7.
I got both my phone and watch one week ago and connexion is most often lost as soon as the smartphone goes asleep. This makes my gear S2 classic absolutly unuseable for notifications and connected functions (which is the main reason I bought the watch for, I would have bought a normal watch if I just needed to get the time :crying.
For information, my honor is based on a Lollipop 5.0.2 OS.
Thanks for your help.
I can tell you that I have the Gear S2 and Note 5 and there is no issue at all with mine, so it is not a compatibility thing at all. There may be some issue with your gear s2 or note 5

Help identifying indicator icon

My phone has had random vibrations lately (Note 5) and I think I've narrowed it down to something with the connection to my Gear S2. Everytime I feel the random vibration on my phone, my gear s2 turns on and has this indicator at the very top. It looks like a small watch. I couldn't find the indicator in the manual so I'm hoping someone here knows and can help me!
If I catch it quick enough, I think I see it connecting to WIFI, so I'm thinking it's my bluetooth breaking down. Is there a fix for this? Should I disable the remote WIFI connection?
I've included a pic of the indicator icon.
Mine does that every time it goes into standalone. I have the s2 3g. If I lose bluetooth it falls back on remote connect.

does it happen often to you? Seems like there is no rhyme of reason to it. I think I notice it more when my phone is connected to wifi at home, but I think I've noticed it at other times too. Wondering if turning off the remote connection would help. I hear the Note 5 has bluetooth issues too, but it works fine in my car and with headphones at the gym, so I think it's something going on with the gear s2
def confirmed it's my bluetooth disconnecting. Quite annoying. Any fixes for this yet?
It did, but since I've changed roms I've noticed it less. Maybe once a day now.

Samsung gear s3 classic connectivity

Brand new to the Watch, this could be an issue with iPhone or maybe it doesn't support it, but I jut got the gear s3 early, just while waiting for my new s8 plus to arrive in couple weeks, I set it up with the limited iPhone, but I was having bad problems connecting to the internet, it worked if I turned Bluetooth off and on and used wifi only. But one question does this Watch not just connect to my phone and then use the phones data like my Apple Watch did?
Or is this just limited due to iOS ? Downloading watch faces just gets stuck and goals all the time too, can't wait for my new s8, not complaining just interested on connectivity I expected it would use the data on the phone via Bluetooth. Maybe I just set it up wrong

Gear S3 bluetooth range awful. Anyone else?

Anyone else experience terrible bluetooth range on their gear s3? It is much worse than my old gear s2. I am connected to a S8 so even with new Bluetooth 5.0, the range is awful. Not sure why. I do have the Gear S3 LTE through verizon but that shouldn't matter.
Could you please give example?
1 meter or 2 or less?
So we could compare...
Question is because..
I have killed 1 SMD part form my SM-R732... during some soldering activities...
So I know why range for BT and WiFi is dramatically lost...
In my device. :crying:
Best Regards

I actually think it is not that bad. I can walk downstairs in my two story home and keep the connection but occasionally if I stray too far horizontally from where the phone is located upstairs, I will hear the Beep showing I've lost BT. Plaster/lath home.
Bluetooth 5.0 doesn't matter if both devices don't have it.

There isn't much of an antenna in the watch so you're not going to see the distances you see between two phones.

It is definitely less than my Sony SWR50 smartwatch
But can usually get one or two rooms over before it disconnects.
Its more than i expected.. more than a perfect with my S8+
