Hi,
Last night, I put my S6 onto ultra power saving mode before I went to sleep. All the settings were turned on but when I proceeded to my homescreen, I still had all my third party apps on the screen. The phone then froze and I couldn't navigate across my homescreen and my notification bar was stuck.
I manually restarted my phone and then put it to charge.....but it didn't charge......:crying:
I fiddled around with the USB port, tried a different charger, tried a different phone (and it charged without fail).
For some reason, wireless charging still works which moves me onto the theory of a hardware problem. I also put my phone onto safe mode and it still wouldn't charge, so clearly it wasn't a third party app.
I'm not 100% sure yet, but it appears that my phone might faintly be charging while its turned off.
Does anyone have any theories (and solutions) to my problem. I may end up factory resetting but I'm trying my best to avoid that. I still firmly believe that it is a software bug as the phone froze while I was changing the battery mode and that's when the problem arised.
Many Thanks

Sounds as Hardware Issue for USB Port , ok bro ,
is your phone recognize when you connect it to pc ?
are you tring to use different cable for charge ? may be problem in the cable not the charger .
if you are try another cable and the problem still exist so last hope to make factory reset and see if the problem will solve or not , don't forget to make backup of your data first .
i advice you to go to Techanical Shop and check your usb port .

Hello people!
I've bought SGS+ 2 days ago. It has a strange problem that doesn't the phone hard to use, but I'm afraid that there is something wrong with hardware and I'd like to hear your opinion.
What is the problem?
1.Turning on: When I push and hold the power button on the screen shows a baterry and it looks like it is charging, but there is no charger plugged in. Then I have to press power button once more to get the right boot to android OS.
2. Battery icon behaviour: After the android OS boots I see that the battery icon has a lightning sign on it like it is charging but its not. Same thing appears in Settings->About phone. It shows charging(USB) or charging(AC). Battery usage is always shown as 0 sec and:
-100% for the screen
or
-nothing
or
-lot of processes including android OS twice(one with 38% and the other one with 12% etc.)
3.Samsung Kies mode automatically on: After first boot The phone behaves very strange, it opens MTP Application every 1 second as well as it running Multimedia scanner everytime. I tryed to change mode for Mass storage in USB settings but it says I have to plug out USB cable(but it is not plugged in).I need to reboot my phone and then Samsung Kies mode turn itself on only once and behaving like it connects to the computer when I press home button I can use phone normal then but battery still looks like it is chragining.
4.Wi-Fi strange behaviour: I can connect to Wi-Fi but then in the broswer when I want to browse the site before it starts to load an error shows up "There is no internet connection" and I have to options [Settings] or [OK]. Whatever I choose Page will load it self and I can browse it. After choosing another page I have to press OK again and this pop up window shows before loading every single page.
What did I try to do?
I used ODIN to install the newest original 2.3.6 ROM(only one file tar.MD5). I got it done but problem is not solved(expect the one thing:when I turn on the phone in this clear 2.3.6 ROM there is no need to push the power button twice, the battery doesnt shows up at the start of booting like it was in branded 2.3.6 from PLAY all the others problems are still here)
My "fears":I'm afraid that there is something wrong with the phone hardware itself. I want to try to root the phone and install CM9 or 10 in hope it will solve the problem.
My question is could you tell me what can be wrong with my phone and if a repair service will repair my phone. I have the receipt but my warranty has no stamp etc. If its needed I can do a short video and put it on YT so you can see the problem on your own eyes.
Try to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe battery stats and wipe delvic cache accessing the recovery mode. You can access the recovery mode by switching on the phone by pressing and holding vol-up and power button. Hope it helps.
Thank you

unfortunately I did this already and still nothing. There is also a strange bug that Ive seen few hours ago. If I plug in USB cable or charger only to the phone(not to computer etc)the phone will stop freaking out and everything works fine then but I dont want to keep my phone with usb cable or charger sticked to its mini USB port.

Then it would be better if you get your phone to the nearest samsung service... It may be a hardware defect.

Hi mates, yesterday I've made a change for 7 inch galaxy tab 2, 8GB, more specially the p3110, as well as I rooted it and updatet it and about 6am insomnia makes me take the tablet, So far so ordinary ...
well then turn it on and tells me that my sd is empty Nothing, I lost the data and I am about to make clear the sd, pretends to format and passed 15-20 secs it power off.
I get out of bed and went to connect it to the wall charger, knowing as sometimes if you leave the battery holding power and swiping your finger across the screen some time reappears stack and reloads it, I do it today that should have full charge and nothing, doesn't returns, when I connect it usb pc and when I do turn on the tablet it sounds windows connected usb sound and at the second connecting it disconnects device again, and there will end up pressing the button again
I removed the back cover and I have even removed the battery about 2 hours, reassembled and still doing the same ....
Summary: Does not display anything on the screen and battery charging even having tried the method "samsung" when this happens, (which only have it, with its official android I had to do it once, and recalibrate the battery even reach 4000 and mark its 100%, hence looked last longer and it was when the update and was working fine about 3 hours with it, no problem opening emails looking face and such, nothing out of the ordinary, there is no heat either, doesn't gave any fatigue sign and the battery was at 80% when It turned off suddenly), when you turn the computer connected to the usb nothing still while connecting a second and off the next, only once, until you return to try give the power or any combination, whether recovery, download, nothing shows anything on the screen
however when I connect it to pc to it hears something in windows, that tells me that the board is not dead, and the lcd was working ok and absolutely have any shot.
can you think of anything? I'm already crazy with this ... odin doesn't sees it, that connects the second and still sounds the little sound of I connect I get disconnected every time you try to pull it out, hopefully a recoverable semibrick at home or less silly ...
still nothing??

Hi guys,
I am experiencing the wierdest thing on my brother's Xperia Z3.
2 days ago, the phone randomly stopped showing images on the screen, but the backlight would still switch on and off as normal when pressing the power button. If the phone is restarted in this state by using key combos, the Sony logo won't even show up. This problem started intermittently, but now it does this for a much longer period. The issue would usually occur after the phone being locked, or if it were being used, the screen would show horrible distortion on the bottom half and become non-responsive until the screen switched off and any attempt to switch it on would be make the phone behave as described earlier.
I used to be able to make the image work by plugging in the USB cable, but this method seems to have stopped working, or at the very least has a really low success rate. I have tried all the soft reset methods: Power+VolUp, yellow button in the sim tray, none of those work for me.
I have just stopped short of reflashing the phone with Flash Tools.
Has anyone had this problem before? It is really confusing me as to whether this is a software or hardware issue.
Any suggestions?
I reflashed the phone using Flash Tools and the phone is still behaving the same way; just the backlight is turning on. Besides that, the phone seems to be making the correct noises and responding to the USB cable. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be the screen itself? I'm worried that it may be the motherboard.
Ok, I found something that works. If I hit the device with my hand on the back or the screen a few times, it seems to bring the phone back. My suspicion is either a loose screen connector or something on the motherboard. I'm not really comfortable with opening the phone up, so this is going to be my go-to solution. Hope this is able to help someone.
Hi,
My customer brought me a phone after a water damage. He claimed that the phone has been working fine for a few days after being dropped into the water untill it has discharged. Now when connected to the charger it just normally shows battery percentage level and is charging fine, but if try to turn it on it just shows Samsung Logo, vibrate twice, again vibrate twice and turns off.
What I have done:
- i've fully dissasembled the phone and clean everything with isopropyl alcohol (99%) (most of the water damage was on the bottom panel with usb charging and LCD connector, mainboard and batterry looked untouched)
- i've put both boards for an hour onto the 100 Celsius board
- after another 24 hours i've reassembled the phone and the problem remained
- I've replaced usb charging board and cabel between it and main board with working ones (still the same)
- I've reflashed stock ROM for SM-A515F Poland (without CSC)
- wiped cache
Nothing worked. Moreover, when I tried to enter Safe Mode the screen went "static"? It just looked like analog TV when you have no signal. Every restart ended up with this "static screen". However when i enter the recovery or download mode it looked sometimes fine. After another Stock ROM flash "static screen" has no longer showed up, but the device still "turns off" after Samsung logo and 2x2 vibrates.
Right now I'm not really sure if it is software or a hardware issue. Had anyone dealt with something like this? Any advice is welcome
I haven't tried factory reset yet, because the customer has many important photos on the device (with no backup :/)
Have a good day!
P.S. Tomorrow i will replace LCD to check if it's faulty. If don't I'll be looking a way to retrieve photos from this bricked phone. It's locked with Google Account and PIN, has not enabled debugging or anything else. Is it possible to somehow restore photos from this phone? Some way to install CWM without unlocking BL (to prevent data wiping)? Then from CWM i should be able to fire up ADB and pull personal data? Has someone any idea if it is possible?
Hi again,
I was so happy that i've fixed this smartphone for my customer that i've forgot i've wrote here
Finally I was able to fix the phone. Even the screen looked fine in the download/recovery modes it turned out that it's faulty. With new screen phone is starting fine and everything works correctly. Here's the link where i show the old screen and new one and how the phone responds:
The problem I have is with the galaxy z flip 3, it worked just fine inthe morning but after it ran outta juice and I charged it to a certain percentage, it stopped working properly, and got into an infinite boot loop, I tried forcing it to restart by long pressing volume down+power , but it didn't work, then I tried opening the recovery by long pressing on volume up+power and yet it also didn't work (I think that maybe it's because it was trying to boot at the time), so have you guys any solutions , please do help me cuz this phone really is important and with all honestly, isn't even mine XD, I'll be waiting for an answer
Your failsafe options are contact Samsung or do a factory reset (and then potentially contact Samsung).
If you can't boot it to anything, the only real option you have is to flash firmware, which likely won't help without wiping.
Unfortunately, not booting doesn't have a whole lot of options that don't wipe data without being rooted. Even then, you'd need recovery.
I see, then I may consider giving it to samsung, as long as they won't reset it, cuz the only reason why the phone is so important is because of the data, altough, isn't there any other way to acess recovery? Cuz I had this problem with the s10 before and I fixed it somehow (a certain Bixby key combination), but this time it seems there isn't any hidden combination.
Samsung is going to reset it. It's a required first step for them to do any work on it, even if the work has nothing to do with the software. What may help find a way to recover the data is starting with how it got to this point. Did you install anything new, change any important settings, or anything else that could have been a part of the issue? If not and it is an unexplained hardware failure, the data is likely gone already.
If it's something you might have installed or changed, it's possible that putting the phone in safe mode and undoing it may solve the issue and let you boot normally.
Booting into Safe Mode:
Make sure the device is powered off (charging is ok, as long as it is not currently trying to boot)
Hold the side key to power on and continue holding until "SAMSUNG" appears and the device vibrates
Immediately release the side key and begin holding volume down until boot completes
If the device has booted into safe mode, you will see a translucent "Safe Mode" in the bottom left

Well I just asked the original owner (my mother), and apparently she doesn't remember downloading anything new into it, and it just went crazy by itself, also something else I wanna note, I tried charging it and it booted into recovery all by itself, I taught it was weird but Still went and wiped the cache and then when I tried restarting it it suddenly ran out of juice once again, also, it's second display shows some weird curruption/bug or glitch-like lines. So based off of this, can you really find the origin of this problem and if there is really any hope of saving it's data XD. Thank you btw, and once again, I'll be waiting for an answer
There are hundreds of reasons it could do that, including a faulty board. Thanks to the removal of physical sdcard support, you'd need to get it to boot into something with at least adb support to pull anything off it. Stock recovery doesn't provide any ways to perform a decent backup, but it sounds like the only option that wouldn't wipe the device didn't work.
I see, alright, thanks a lot, I'll consider resetting it
It may be worth trying to flash firmware first. Go into it knowing it may reset the device or leave you needing to reset it, but it doesn't hurt to try if you run out of safer options.
Same here, same symptoms, happened in front of my wife's and eyes face. We are fairly techy and understand our way around our devices. We also noticed the device crashed then would make it all the way to the home screen launcher and before catching signal the crash would cause a restart at that point I went in and did a cash swipe rebooted right back into recovery by itself then I unplugged the cable and it was acting as if it has a dead battery but when the cable was last plugged in during a couple of crash and then restarts all the way to the home screen I know the battery was at 70 something percent. My next step is going to probably be flashed the current firmware that just released on top of it as a dirty flash and see if I can get it to boot. If not then I'm going to do a hard reset and see if that works. When plugged in it automatically starts exhibiting symptoms as if the buttons are stuck. The devices in the OtterBox and it's fairly brand new I would say mint. Not dirty or any smudges either. all I'm saying is I'm one of those type of technicians that say yeah right when people say it just happened I don't know where but this actually happened I don't know when I was able to witness it. I'll come back and let you guys know what works and what doesn't. (By the way excuse my grammar I was voice typing while driving )

Hello everyone just a quick update. Once I got home I plugged the device into a Samsung fast charger and Samsung OEM USB type-c cable and realize the device booted all the way to the home screen but register the same battery level as I mentioned above. Device was working as if nothing happened to it. So I updated all the apps on the Galaxy store then updated all the apps left over from the Google Play store, I then proceeded to check for a firmware update because I know the April update just released and installed the update with no issues. Updated the apps that needed to be updated again somehow there's always something and unplug the device from the power cable. Everything was working if no issues about half hour later the device cuts off and does not want to power on. FYI I already had my wife contact T-Mobile and get a warranty replacement we only paid $5.00 so my thoughts and conclusion on what's going on something happened to the battery or it's defective. Btw we only use Samsung OEM cables and equipment at home and in the car while connected through Android auto. it's only working while being plugged in it's not charging all the way even though it's registering it's charge level while the device is on.
