Big thanks, you're rock!

OK, I think I should ask the question here.
Is there any older release or testing firmware of Nokia 8 TA-1012 available?
The only thing I want to do is make the Nokia 8 Proto functional again.

Hello, this NOKIA N8 firmware, which specific models apply?

I've been able to extract all of the Nokia 6 files. I have a TA-1025, so this will be no use for me I'm assuming. Would anyone be interested if I send the unpacked files?
Ok so interesting turn of events....
So I downloaded SUT L1, the same link that was posted earlier in the thread to see if I got the same error about the program being out of date for the firmware. Sure enough....
I got the same error.
So I started looking at the files for the SUT L1 program and the program op first uploaded for flashing firmware and I started noticing a lot of the files looked.... really familiar. They couldn't be the same, could they? There was only a couple of files that weren't the same, the biggest outlier being an exe called SoftwareUpdateTool in the SUT L1 program files. Surely it's not as easy as dragging the exe from one folder to the next ri-?
Yes, yes it is that easy. Can anyone confirm this does anything?

The OST I provided a link for is the most current, up to date flasher for the Nokia 6.
The software op provided was prompting for a network login when started. When the SUT L1 program was linked and suggested I noticed that the two programs (the software provided by op, and SUT L1 provided by another user) are very alike if not the same program. I simply took the launcher from SUT L1, that did not prompt for a network login, and copied it over to the program op provided. It now works and hopefully you can flash .nb0 files through it, though with the current files given I do not have the correct hardware to flash it to and I don't want to risk it! The program I linked is a Nokia 6 firmware flasher that I believe works.
Sorry for the confusion

Yes mate what you told is exactly right the one i provided need a network login to HMD global server for key auth . Once verified only we can flash the firmwares . I uploaded it hoping someone can patch it to get it working without network login . The SUT L1 looks similar to the OST in some ways but I don't know whether they are the same. And at last only way we need is a successful firmware flash regardless of which tool we use . I can only help nyou guys with all official firmware supports for whichever model Nokia release

EDIT2: After flashing it asks for password to load Android. System is encrypted. Wtf?
EDIT3: Did a wipe, works now. But it asks to download almost 2gb update and there is no way to cancel it. I hope it's not 9.
EDIT4: Yep, it's 9. Phone demanded to update to Android 9, only then it allowed to use it.

Hi there,
Well if you turn off your wifi and mobile data at the beginning of the setup you will not be forced to download the latest version of android.
Regards
KIBS2173
After the flash, if you are prompted for a code, do a full delete.
Do not use network during setup, there will be no update.
Perfect description!
Thank you very much!
before u downgrade u have to remove all the Google accounts. otherwise when u got finished downgrading u will force to update to android 9 unless u haven't unlock the boot loader..
if bootloader unlocked u can bypass setup wizard using twrp file manager.
Downgrading deletes all data, including accounts.
Simply set up your phone without a sim card and don't connect to wifi. There will be no update.
Thank you
I made an account specifically to thank you. This works very well.
Just a note:
Remove your google account from your device before flashing. Otherwise, it won't let you skip the setup when you boot the phone after the flash.
This is due to a security feature in Android called Factory Reset Protection (FRP). Which essentially makes sure that the owner of the device (or basically the last account that was on it) is the same one logging in after the reset. That's why it doesn't let you skip the setup, thus forcing you to upgrade to Android 9.
If you didn't remove your google account before flashing, you'll have to:
1- Do the Pie update during the setup
2- Sign in with the same google account you had logged in before flashing
3- Remove that account
4- Do the whole flashing process from the start again
You can save yourself from this hassle just by removing the account BEFORE you flash to begin with.
Needless to say, you should disable WiFi and remove your SIM card to bypass the update on boot.
---------- Post added at 01:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:17 PM ----------
Also if I may, I have a small question. After downgrading to stock 7.1.1, can I re-flash the December OTA update to get a more recent version?
I want to do this because there's an issue with USB connection and I am hoping that the December OTA fixes it.
UPDATE: I was able to get the OTA zip files from teamandroid (I can't post the link because my account is new , sorry)
I was on 7.1.1 June 2017, so I flashed July, August, September, and October in order.
This gave me Android 7.1.2, October 2017 security patch, and fixed the USB issue.

Hi everyone,
To prevent your phone from updating, after flashing and resetting, just skip the wifi connection, or eject your sim therefore no update will be found.

can someone help me i get this error on my Windows 10, do I need to install something?
NETWORK problem
Has anyone faced network problem , like VOLTE not appearing? If any fix is available please write it here !

Roll back to 3.39b sp02 from 3.51a MR

First of all.
Connect your phone to pc
Install the drivers
Download the ADB tool version 1.4.2 and install
Go to phone settings and tap about phone and go to build no. And tap 5 times on this. Then you have a developer settings in your main settings. Enter dv settings and enable the usb debugging on.
Connect your phone again.
Open ADB tool and type adb devices
And type adb reboot bootloader
First check active slot, by
going to fastboot mode and type fastboot getvar current-slot
Then change your active slot, type fastboot --set-active=a or fastboot --set-active=b according to your current slot.
it isnt work for me
thanks anyway
Yes, this is principle of A/B (used in N7p), in other slot is always previous system version, more info: https://source.android.com/devices/tech/ota/ab
I installed two unofficial updates (Jan 3.51A + Feb 3.51B) . Changing slot takes me to January 3.51A and thss I can't get any of the official updates installed. Is there any solution for my situation?
@hkmrayhan
If you installed twice the updates you modified both partitions, so the switch slot trick doesn't help you. It just rolls you back to the previous update.
Your only choice is to go with an N0B firmware flash. This will wipe everything (both a and b slots) and install the firmware back. There are two available that I've found so far : 132E Oreo and 339B Pie (found in a shared gDrive folder)
Links are available around the forum.
EDIT: not really the only choice. There are also Maintanance Releases otas (see thread for links) that are not differentials but rather full ROMs, meaning they can be "flashed" using stock recovery and they don't care from which pre-build version you come from.

Back to Stock Firmware flash
Sure thing, @hkmrayhan !
Here is the google drive folder (credits goes to @blackpanther0582, hope u cool)
You'll want to download either the B2N-339B which is Pie, or the TA-1046 132E which is Oreo.
After that you'll need nb0 unpacker tool and the Online Service Tool aka OST LA v6.0.4 (there's also NOST )
Here is the guide of what you have to do: Workaround for flashing Oreo by yourself
To sum it up:
1. Unpack the firmware with nb0 unpacker
2. Follow the guide and modify the 3 values from the .mlf file
3. Install OST LA v6.0.4 by running the .bat script as admin
4. Open OST, connect phone in Download Mode (Vol- and Power), select the modified .mlf file and the proper settings (see guide), flash

i thik this need unlocked bootloader or not?
If yes, then is much simpler via fastboot flash to a and b slot boot.img prepared from ota <= october
---------- Post added at 12:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:44 PM ----------
Here is howto (maybe not need using patched boot.img):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/help/pie-october-update-failed-t3862758/post78257961
Is October ota more rounded up, compete firmware package?
---------- Post added at 06:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:50 PM ----------
I was thinking about using fastboot flash to write the firmware from extracted NB0 package, but I don't know if OST does something more special with the package.
Further investigation needed!
Also might be useful a tool to merge an ota to the actual firmware before hand, so we can push them and rebuild to newer versions.
We have lots of ota packages links found by the community, but just two firmwares available.

This guide is working on "unlocked bootloader"
We are with locked bootloader and on Developer Preview 4
I followed the guide @hikari_calyx did in the thread mentioned in my previous post, and he specifies unlocked bootloader as a requierement.
Initially I thought it would not be necessary as OST is an official servicing tool, but I knew little because I was already unlocked. Also with locked bootloader you shouldn't even be able to use fastboot flash.
I've noticed many had been stuck in DP. Can you sum it up for me quickly ?
Have you tried using stock recovery with a MR ota (full rom or Maintanance Release). If yes what error are you getting ?
Latest MR now is WW 3.51F March. Give that one a try !
It requires an unlocked bootloader

[HOW TO] Recover from any hardbrick or red case in 9008 mode without ANY BOXEs

Well guys, its finally here!! You can finally unbrick your device without any jtag, medusa, octopus box!!
DISCLAIMER: IM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS DOES SOMETHING BAD TO YOUR DEVICE WHICH IT SHOULDNT.
WARNING: THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING IN THE INTERNAL STORAGE OF THE DEVICE!!
FAQ"
1.,)My phone blinks red and i cant boot into 9008 mode at all. What can i do?
A. From what ive expreniced, you need to take out the back and touch two test points on the g7 while connected to the pc with a tweezer.

2,) I keep getting shara failed, the firehose is in the right folder and the xml files as well. Everything is in the same folder.
A. There are two reasons why it may fail.
1 Make sure you install the drivers correctly.!! Windows 10 has driver signature enforcment enabled on default so you need to disable that and install the 9008 drivers. To check if your drivers are installed correctly open up Device manager via searching it in the windows bar then go into ports and make sure theres no question mark or an yellow exclamation (!) sign next to it. If there is you have you disable signature enforcement and install the drivers manually. To do that you can google it cause theres a bunch of ways to do it.
2. if the drivers are installed correctly then you should try two things. One run it as admin and check if you can open up parition manager or load the files. and two is to reboot into edl mode by holding down Vol - and then power then once it turns off and on again at the lg logo, hold it down and reboot into edl mode again.
3.Red case:
You may have the red case cause you locked your bootloader by accident or you never unlocked it or something happened. Just use this guide to flash the abl file https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/how-to-partitions-flash-abl-t-mo-t4051249 then do fastboot oem unlock then flash back the abl for your android verison.
Requirments:
-A computer of course
-USB cable to connect your phone to the pc
-This oreo firmware https://lg-firmwares.com/downloads-file/17341/G710ULM11g_01_NAO_US_OP_1112.kdz
-The unbrick files from here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gozwGTc8BT1w_gb230GUT4RP_Mwe5fz4
-KDZ Tools: https://github.com/ANEP-ET/kdztools/archive/master.zip
-Python installed :https://www.python.org/downloads/
Steps:
AA. You can download this, extract them and skip steps 1, and 5-9
https://drive.google.com/file/d/19JBomkFdFglUqFhF3jFsJ-H2WJN4Dwp0/view?usp=sharing Thanks to @avilav
BB. You can do it your self too ill leave them in the steps
1. Download and install python
PYTHON INSTALL STEPS:
a. Download and install python 2.7
b.Download and install C++ Compiler for python2.7: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44266
c. Download and install thus redistruble
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
D. After everything is done installing open C:/Python2.7/Scripts folder and right click and open powershell
E. Type CMD then enter and then put
Code:
pip install zstandard
F. After thats done continue with the next steps. And you can close that window
2, Download all the files above and extract them into one folder. Make sure to extract everything INSIDE the kdztools folder.
3. Run the qpst file you extracted and install it
4. A.If your phone is already in 9008 mode and stuck there make sure to hold down and power for at least 10-20 seconds while connected to your pc and should reboot back to it.
B. If it doesnt boot into download mode or android at all but theres a picture or bootlooping or at fastboot mode etc... or at the white lg logo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__MY0qB1G8c use this tutorial to boot into 9008 mode. Plug your device into the computer, then hold power then down the turn it off and then quicky let go of power and press and hold power then rapidly press the vol+ button and you should be at a black screen and should be in 9008 mode. To check: Open up device manager and check ports and should say qualcomm 9008 mode. If it says something like qhubulk usb an theres an exclamation on it make sure to right click update drivers and search automatically on the internet. Otherwise youre gonna have to find the drivers your self online which isnt hard.
5. Once you confirm that you are there right click in the folder where you extracted everything open up Powershell or if you have it to set to command prompt open that.
6. In powershell type cmd and press enter.
7. Type:
Code:
unkdz.py -f G710ULM11g_01_NAO_US_OP_1112.kdz -x
then press enter
8. Wait a while and ignore the warning about offsets and stuff like that and dont close it yet.
9. After its done open up the kdz extracted folder and move the .dz file it generated back into where you extracted everything and then run this command in that same command prompt:
Code:
undz.py -f G71011g_01.dz -c
10. Wait while this also finishes, again ignore the warnings.
11. Place the rawprogramfiles0-6.xml's into the dzextracted folder it created this time
12. Now its time to flash, so open up qfil, you can just search it in the search bar on windows 10.
13. In the qfil window, select click configuration on top then firehouse configuration then make sure you change device type to UFS then click ok
14. Select Flat Build then in the programmer path select the prog_ufs_firehose_Sdm845_lge.elf file.
15. In the search path put the location of the dzextracted where all the files are extracted should be where theres a bunch of different bins
16. In the Rawprogram and Patch place click load xml then navigate to where the rawprogramfiles are (should be where dzextracted ) if you dont see it. If you do see it then shift then click Rawprogramfile0 then Rawprogramfile6 and it should select all of them. Then it should say select patch file. just click cancel on the patch file.
17. Click download and it should start flashing the files and wait till it done.
18 Hold power and down for 10-20s it should reboot and it should be able to boot android. It may restart once so it erases user data.
19. You should be able to boot into android now
If it doesnt boot:
You should be able to enter download mode now to flash fw with lgup
Lets Thank:
@Xsavi For finding the firehose file for sdm devices
@quickwshell for the rawprogram generator.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you thank you it worked with my lg g7 g710n

It'z easier to use Cygwin. Download it and install. Open Cygwin
After the $ type pip install zstandard as zstd press enter it will find the .whl file it needs to run in python to extract any dz file your having problems with or other files you need for python.

So your device is bricked? I can share the kdz and dz files. Let me get things together and I will provide a link.

You cant use the 21d with the rawprogran files. These are only for that oreo kdz. You can flash them back to pie later.
