[RECOVERY] [F1f-Spectrum] [TWRP-3.1.1-0] For Project Spectrum Bootloader ONLY! - Oppo F1

This is an unofficial port of TWRP Recovery for the Oppo F1F on Project Spectrum Bootloader. Much Thanks and credit goes to the TWRP team, Lineage team, and brinleyaus for making this possible. This will allow flashing of modification zips (eg. supersu, magisk, xposed, etc) over the top of Project Spectrum or flashing spectrum based ROMS.
Instructions:
Already running Project Spectrum
- If you haven't already unlocked you bootloader you will need to go into SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE and tap BUILD NUMBER 7 times to unlock DEVELOPER OPTIONS, Then go into SETTINGS > DEVELOPER OPTIONS and enable them, also enable ADB DEBUGGING and OEM UNLOCK. Now reboot into fastboot (adb reboot bootloader) and run fastboot oem unlock.
- Install this image file through fastboot (If you are unsure of this step follow one of the many tutorials about installing TWRP through fastboot)
On ColourOs with TWRP
- Do a full wipe first or the install will fail. (In TWRP hit WIPE then swipe to factory reset.) Do a backup first as you will lose data.
- Flash this zip file through twrp and then hit "wipe dalvic and cache", then hit HOME then REBOOT then RECOVERY. (rebooting to the new recovery will ensure the recovery sticks) then Flash any Spectrum based rom or restore any Spectrum based backup. NOTE the ColorOs system and boot.img will still be there but wont boot so you MUST flash or restore a Spectrum based rom before you reboot to system.

Which file are you talking about, I just checked the links and the flashable zip was actually pointing to the full ROM which defiantly has the 3.1.1-0 version. (I just fixed the link to point at the bootloader, firmware and twrp zip.) Are you rebooting to recovery after flashing to make it stick?

No, Read the OP of this thread. There is a zip (and instructions) to return to ColorOs Bootloader, firmware and TWRP. From there you can flash any TWRP flashable ColourOs based Rom (ColorOs or LineageOS) or restore backups from them.

Which root method will be used for this?

@tywinlannister7 Thanks for quick reply.
As far as I can understand, this file should be flashed (restored) after restoring my TWRP back up of nougat stock rom taken in January-2017. Currently I am on RR-MM.
Shall I able to take OTA then?

For OTA updates to work, you'd need a stock recovery on your device too; TWRP is a no go. Once you've restored your TWRP backup of your Nougat stock ROM (which hopefully may have the stock boot still), you can flash the stock recovery linked here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/how-to-ota-rooting-nougat-npj-25-93-14-t3601747
I imagine the easiest option is to flash the recovery in fastboot (same as you did with TWRP) using 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img', then rebooting into recovery.
I think, though I've not tried it with a stock recovery, that you should be able to flash the recovery image in TWRP:
tap Install in the TWRP menu
Select 'install image's
Find your stock recovery image and select
Choose recovery as the image type
Flash and reboot to recovery.
Then, provided your system has a stock kernel, no modifications to your system and a stock recovery (bootloader doesn't matter), you should be able to update via OTA.
@echo92 Thanks for detailed guide.
I had flashed SuperSU on Nougat stock ROM, so stock boot might be affected. Am I right?
In short, I want to sell the device, so I want to return to stock.

Shouldn't create any such issues. Anyways, you can make an entire backup of the fsg and other partitions in twrp.
Yes, your data will be wiped though.

No Nougat modem is available until the flashable (non OTA) full stock 7.0 rom is made available from Motorola. This is not likely to happen. No issues have been mentioned running this update on a 6.0 modem. Not sure what the advantages are honestly. I never had problems with bt, wifi, or calls with the 6.0 modem firmware.
Create a backup beforehand and you can always go back to it.

I get "invalid ZIP file format" using TWRP 3.1.1-0 on an XT1575. Was running lineageOS 14.1 but I wiped system and data before trying to install the zip. On my laptop I can open the ZIP fine and extract the files, but that doesn't help.

The OP will need to comment - he may be coming from a rooted stock ; at least according the the thread noted above - if you have installed a custom ROM ; there are other steps besides just trying to flash this
I have NOT tried the OP's method or the referenced thread - so I cannot really speak from experience ; just pointing out other resources that have additional information -
Will this work with XT1572? Just confirming.
This is not a traditional TWRP zip file. It is a backup file. You need to unzip it and put it in the backup directory. You then restore backup, choose the nph25-200-22. . . directory, and away you go!

Well it worked, sort of. It booted to stock but it wasn't stable and the play store kept crashing, I tried all the usual stuff for that, clear services & play store data, uninstall updates, finally tried a factory reset and now I'm stuck in TWRP bootloop, even if I reinstall this image.
So very much YMMV.

[RECOVERY] Unnoficial TWRP recovery 3.2.1-0 for Galaxy S6 Edge model 404SC only.

TEAM WIN RECOVERY PROJECT (TWRP) version 3.2.1-0
What is TWRP?
Is a fully touch-based custom recovery, which allow you to flash some zip files, backup some partitions and restore the device.
This recovery is specific to Galaxy S6 Edge, model 404SC(SM-G925Z/Japan model, carrier Softbank). But i tested and worked on the Galaxy S6 Edge SCV31/carrier Au KDDI too. I didn't tested in any "Docomo" variant. In case you want to try, send me an message and i will provide the modified "stock kernel", to be able to boot on system.
I recommend to not try to flash this in any internacional model.
Compiled with the latest omni sources 8.1.
https://github.com/omnirom/android_bootable_recovery/
Warning:- I will take no responsability for anything bad, that can happen after flash this recovery!
Flashing this recovery, will trip the KNOX and void the Warranty. If you are ok with that, proceed downloading the recovery, flash with the Odin and enjoy.
In case you want to keep the warranty, this is not for you!
Starting from Lollipop, flashing any custom binary, will end up in stuck at boot. This is due to dm_verity. To be able to boot on system, after flash the TWRP recovery, is necessary to flash an modified kernel.
You can flash my custom permissive kernel for 404SC, from this link:- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850510939
Kernel source code:- https://github.com/frankbrazillian/android_kernel_samsung_404SC
This kernel is very close as stock, only making this kernel permissive... Compiled with Linaro toolchain gcc 7.
Or if you want to keep the "stock kernel", you can find the link to the model 404SC and SCV31 stock kernel, on the second post.
You will find the link to "stock recovery" too, in case you want to revert.
How to flash the Recovery?
I recommend to flash with Odin3 v3.12~
Link to download Odin:-
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1etF4YP6nJYq-CQEzZJqDv7YS39rQSsbT/view?usp=drivesdk
Note:- After flash the TWRP recovery with Odin, is necessary to put the device in recovery mode(pressing the combo POWER + HOME + VOLUME UP), and swipe to allow modifications when prompted, to make this recovery permanent. If you won't swipe to allow modifications or leave the device restart to system before enter on recovery mode on first boot, the TWRP recovery will be replaced automatically for the "Stock recovery", and you will need to flash the TWRP recovery again.
In case you still have doubts, post an message and i will try to help you.
How to root your device?
Download the latest SuperSu from this link:- (https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip), or the latest Magisk from this thread :- (https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445) and flash with the TWRP recovery. Since both root tools are systemless, if you wipe the data/factory reset, you will lost the root access. After flash the SuperSU with TWRP recovery, you will see an red message on top of the screen on boot, saying the Kernel is not SEANDROID ENFORCING. Don't worry, this is normal, since the SuperSU will edit the Kernel to be able to get root access.
Feel free to test and let me know if this recovery worked for you...
And please press the "Thanks" button, if this helped you in anyway...
Regards....
Frank.

Obs:- In the screenshots, the header color is mustard, but on the device is the real color "blue".
Since this doesn't interfere in anything, i just leave in this way....
Some screenshot's about the Kernel permissive and root.
In case you want to revert back to stock or want to keep the Stock kernel.
After flash the Twrp recovery, is necessary to flash this Stock kernel or the Custom permissive one. Both are already modified to be able to boot on system. If you flash only the Twrp recovery on Stock rom, you will be stuck at boot. This is due to dm-verity.

Obs:- For the SCV31 model, i didn't compiled yet the Custom permissive kernel, so is necessary to flash this Stock kernel, after flash the Twrp recovery or the device won't boot, due to dm-verity. This stock kernel is modified to be able to boot on system.

Basically exploiting the buffer between reboots while in DL mode. Smart. Hopefully when they fix it they simply throw an autoreboot after file complete, rather than some obnoxious knoxx hoops to jump through. I'm going to test this on my s6 right now. Actually I bet they end up making a softknoxx that gets flagged after any download, and throws a verify function.
So... Anyone who flashed this recovery on 404SC or SCV31 on Nougat, can give me some feedback?
Any issue? Worked for you?

Hi....
What do you mean, settings might not display the latest changes?
About the reboot problem, this can be a problem with the rom itself and not the TWRP. Can you give me the link of the rom you flashed? I need to reproduce the problem.
About the MTP, i'll try to fix it....
Maybe i will build an recovery specific for this model, just in case.
Thank's for your feedback anyway....

The link of the rom you post, i believe is not for your model... It's for internacional model or some chinese variant. Thats why you got problems...
Untill i fix the compatibility with aroma, try to flash some custom firmware specific for your model SCV31.
As soon as i can fix the mentioned issues, i'll update the thread with the links for download.
Thank's again for your feedback.
Regards......
Frank.

Actually the aurora rom work for most model if you flash the right kernel, and i am using it now. ( i reboot device by force )
I can't post outside links, cause i'm new here.
The rom and kernel is downloaded from other post by aurora team( not in xda ),and scv31 is in the support list.

I'm going to give this a shot on an old Docomo SC-04G I have lying around. Any tips or suggestions for the process? I see you mentioned about the source code but I'm not sure what I would need to change before re-compiling it. I do not have any experience with making a kernel passive.

Yes, that device is on 7.0 already. 7.0/SC04G0MU1CQF1. No, I don't know how to extract the stock boot.img or recovery.img. Trying to find some instructions on the forums right now.

Ok... Here is the link to download the stock kernel and stock recovery in case the Twrp won't work on your model... This is specific for the SC-04G model on Nougat.
Kernel:-
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gEh32YnXxJk5qWgT4WPVtX3vjRGMxivQ/view?usp=drivesdk
Recovery:-
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X0hRIUgZBKk4PuRLtPrETqFRG3cyFNaq/view?usp=drivesdk
First flash the TWRP recovery with Odin and after flashed, the phone will boot. Don't let the device restart to System.... Put the phone in recovery mode, (Power button + home + volume up). Swipe to allow changes to system. After put the phone in download mode and flash the "modified" stock kernel to be able to boot.
Reboot the device and you are ready to go...
Let me know if worked for you....
I will be uploading an new Twrp version, as soon as i fix the issues..
Press the thanks button if helped and enjoy....

dont install official twrp on existing twrp

Guys warning dont install official twrp on existing unofficial one it softbbricks the device i flashed fastboot rom and updated to 5.1.6 and followed the tutorial on official twrp to get it working
I just flashed the zip. I'm sure things go south of you flash the original .IMG by itself. I think you also have to reroot after flashing or you boot loop.

I literally just did. And it's totally fine. Just flashed the zip then rebooted recovery then reflashed magisk v16.0 zip then rebooted system. Zero issues whatsoever.
Where do you get oos 5.1.6?
BTW, you can flash official OTA in TWRP then just flash TWRP & magisk again afterwards.

No. I already had unofficial TWRP installed so I simply flashed the installer.
Here's exactly what I did:
1. Downloaded the official TWRP installer package
2. Hold power button, selected reboot, select recovery, tap to reboot.
3. In TWRP, confirm Lockscreen code. Select install & selected installer package swipe to flash.
4. Press home button, select reboot, select recovery, reboot.
5. In TWRP again (now official version) confirm Lockscreen code again, select install, select Magisk 16.0, swipe to flash.
6. Select reboot system. System reboots.
7. Go on XDA find this thread and say it worked fine.
8. This is where we are now. LOL
FYI... I used the unofficial TWRP provided by Zedomax (Max Lee from HighOnAndroid) originally. I didn't do all those other crazy versions.

I flashed official twrp on stock recovery and now I can't exit twrp in both slots
Confirmed working fine on official twrp
Reboot recovery
Flash twrp installer zip (official)
Reboot recovery
Flash magisk 16.0
Wipe cache/davlik
Reboot system
*** DO NOT INSTALL TWRP when printed just reboot system
Profit
Rooted running official TWRP 3.2.1 enchilada ??
Alright, this is a bit confusing.
Can someone tell me if I can update to official TWRP from unofficial, without losing my data/settings? The method OP describes (via fastboot) resets all my data I guess? Wish I had never installed the unofficial version....
I have this unofficial version...
I had the unofficial twrp from the very same link you posted. No problem in updating to official TWRP. Just boot into recovery, install, select the official TWRP installer (forget the img file). Reboot in recovery again, install Magisk. Reboot to system. I did not lose any data or settings (keep always a backup of your important files, you'll never know).
Thanks for the quick reply! I dared to try it and I can confirm unofficial TWRP can indeed succesfull be overflashed with the official one. No bootloops, no errors!
Phew... I had a full nandroid backup, but I do not like the hassle of going through unbricking and such....
I had uninstalle Magisk beforehand, could be the trick?
I do not know why OP was not succesful, but it seems not a problem for everyone.
This thread really should be closed because the OP is 100% not true. If you get a softbrick, it's because you didn't install the official twrp correctly. The instructions are bit involved and I see many people skipping steps because they didn't read or don't see why they need to do anything different from previous phones.
Question I updated from an unofficial version. i followed instruction someone posted on here. But since the unofficial and official look exactly same how do I know I have official?
It does work, u just didn't do it right, u can install official TWRP over unofficial.
Well, depends on which unofficial one you use(d) .
The unofficial one I used was quite laggy on first start, I had to flash some additional zips to get it working right (see the link for install process). So concerning that one: when it works fine from start, you have the new one.

[Guide] TWRP with Magisk on 10.0.4.0 Stock ROM

GSI IS DONE CHECK THE LINK BELOW, IT'S CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS BELOW IS THE STATUS ME WORKING ON IT
THE GSI PIE TUTORIAL
Grab these two files (Big Thanks to @Zerovoid from 4PDA, @Seryioo, and @mac12m99)
Fixed SDCard Support TWRP Image File (Download this and put this on your SDCard and Computer)-
Original Fixed TWRP XDA Post
Fixed SDCard Support TWRP Installer Zip (Download and put this on your SDCard)-
Fixed TWRP .zip Installer
But I got TWRP on 10.0.4.0 with magisk, and Justice Kernel.
THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE I'M DEFINITELY NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST DATA, SD CARDS, ETC
Start with the phone being on with USB Debugging enabled correctly and bootloader unlocked
Type: adb reboot bootloader
So flash the 10.0.4.0 ROM through MiFlash using the flash_all.bat, this process has to be done so backup your data before erasing.
After it is done flashing it restarts, go ahead and hold power and volume down right back to the Bootloader
Type: fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-daisy_zero.img
It would boot into TWRP, if you see something about decryption hit cancel this may mean you haven't followed directions so far
Tap install and find your SD Card, find the fixed-twrp-installer-daisy.zip where ever you put it on your SD Card and install it, this process takes a few minutes when finished DO NOT HIT REBOOT SYSTEM!
Hit the home button back to TWRP home screen and tap reboot >>> bootloader
Download this to your computer -
aboot.img
Type: fastboot flash aboot aboot_9.6.4.img
Then type: fastboot reboot
Afterwards your phone shall boot up to Android if it does hold power and volume up and release power and keep hold volume up when the screen turns back on to go-to recovery, if TWRP boots up you have successfully completed the task.
Now flash Magisk zip (optional)
Hopefully this helped kind of my first tutorial, this was my process.

That's weird, I'm running Android Pie on A2L and Wi-Fi looks great.
Have you tried performing a full wipe and flashing the stock ROM?
I had other issues which were fixed by flashing the stock ROM with a full wipe.
Tbh I don't think the patch updates are 100% trustworthy, so I simply update it manually.

You have to extract the file using WinZip, it's just like a .zip file. But after you extract the stock rom there should be another file in that extract that too and select the folder extracted folder with all of the .img in it in MiFlash.
You must have the Pie ROM to do this
Please make sure you have the latest ROM or latest patch from this link https://en.miui.com/getrom-354.html?

Thanks for the nice Tutorial, the installation works fine.
Backup to the sd-card is now possible, but the restore doesn' work. It stops with this message:
Cannot restore System -- mounted read only

So it's not mounting right sounds like it can right but can't read
I found the solution here:
https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-15952.html
- Go to the TWRP Home Screen and select Mount
- Untick "Mount system partition read-only"
Restore was starting then, but after 99% this error appeared:
The extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255
The device didn't start anymore and I had to set it up again.
