i have one question about rom flashing
is there a chance that some of the old files can be left in rom after you flash it?
i am asking because i have one program that used to be working, and then i flashed my phone to another rom, and it stopped
i flash to my old rom and it is still not working????
i dont know why is this happening

Do a hard-reset after you flash your phone.
i do it every time
and still the program will not work
edit: anybody knows how to format the device and then install rom?
Did you install the program to the Storage Card? If yes, wipe the Card and install again.
Using the wizard i sometimes needed to flash an old ship-ROM.
Try to flash the original ROM (downloadlinks at the first page) and then flashing your desired ROM again.
Maybe this helps.
now i flashed original rom, original spl
and then i flashed spl, then xda live 1.2 rom and now program seems to be working, i must test it to be sure
AND...... it is still not working
now i am going mad
i do not get it
it was working fine and i flashed new rom and then it stopped working
wtf?
i flashed back
and still not working
if anybody gots an idea it is welcome
i will try anything
I have the Optimus T and I installed oxygen ROM on it a while ago.. now out of nowhere my.sd card wont mount. I tried reformatting it to FAT32, I booted into recovery to see if it would mount from there.. but no dice.... I tried factory reset but that dint help either. I'm trying to install twrp and another ROM but i can't because the SD card wont mount. ANY help would be appreciated.
Anyone?.....
Is sd card detects in cwm recovery??

no it does not but my gs2 reads and my computer reads it so i know its not the sd card itself. only the phone is the one that wont read any sd card i put in it.

uh thats for changing baseband
what i meant was using kdz to go back to manufacturer OS
i use this guide http://lgp500-optimusone.blogspot.in/2011/10/how-to-install-firmware-using-kdz.html
Hold it you say you have v10?
thats a froyo base
and oxygen is a gb based rom
i think that's where your going wrong
use kdz and flash stock GB
and then flash oxygen
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
So when I try to install any of the available ROMs I get a encryption unsuccessful error message.
These are the steps that I take...I create a 2gb slot through safestrap and activate it. I then do the necessary wipes. After that I attempt to install. I find the file on the as card, run it through and the it gives me a successful install. I reboot and always get a new boot animation for different ROMs. As soon as the animation ends I get a encryption unsuccessful error message and that causes me to restart, and activate the stock slot which then I have to reboot normally into the stock ROM. The phone works completely fine there after with no issues. Any idea what could be causing this and if there is a fix? Much appreciated. thanks.

It looks like you're not backing up your stock rom slot and restoring it on your rom slot. I think this is a requirement.
- Back up stock rom slot
- Active rom slot 1
- Restore stock rom slot back onto rom slot 1
- wipe
- flash rom

Do you have to do that for every slot? Or just slot1?

I just did that with no success... The only rom I've been able to flash is the batakang that has the gaps included. That's it. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...
I'm only using one slot but I would think that you'd have to do that on all slots.

disregard anything what I said... I was a little confused between different razr models. I thought I had the XT925 and obviously have the XT926 which is the verizon one. Sucks having a locked bootloader but safestrap sure does help when the rom is safestrap compatible. Thanks anyway.
Hi All,
I flashed the new AOSPA 4.2.2 Rom on my P500.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213967
I went through all the installation instructions:
1. FORMAT SYSTEM
2. FACTORY RESET
3. INSTALL ROM, GAPPS
4. WIPE CACHE & DALVIK CACHE
5. REBOOT
After which I no could no longer connect to my network.
I re-flashed my previous rom(the 4.1.2 by Rashed) and still I am receiving no signal.
Baseband version says unknown version.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
1) Were you having old baseband (v10) ?
2) Did you trim the ROM before flashing ?

I used to have the new baseband as I was running 4.1.2.
I used this trick to get the phone working with 4.1.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2110929
I simply put the rom on my Sd Card, booted with clockwork recovery, performed those resets and erased the caches. Then I just installed the 4.2.2 by selecting the install via zip.
Did you flash the baseband fix with this ROM ?
You also need to trim the ROM before flashing gaaps by using Oone ROM editor (search for it on the forum)

Yes after I flashed the ASOP ROM I tried flashing the BB fix.
After I went back to 4.1.2 I flashed the BB fix and still nothing happened.
I'll try trimming the rom.

Ok, so I deleted all the cahes and performed a system reset on the phone, I then reinstalled the CM10 Rom by Rashed and then I installed the BBfix, and now it's working just fine.
Thanks for your time.

also no carrier!
I also have the same problem, I have followed the instructions carefully, even formatted system with debug_format_system.zip, also used oldBBfix_signed.zip and still have no carrier. What would I trim from the rom with the tool you suggested? Thanks for any help!
***UPDATE****
I trimmed the rom per Oonerom help instructions, formatted my SD card, still no joy...I'd like to use this rom if I could get carrier to work!
This ROM works perfectly fine with me.I am on new baseband.

Myself and several others are using the P509 as well. The following is my method for installing ROMs::
1) Trim ROM and copy to SDCard
2) Boot device in to recovery
3) Factory reset
4) Advanced->Wipe Dalvik cache
5) Install ROM zip
6) Install old baseband patch zip ( See LG Optimus One FAQ post #9 for zip )
7) Reboot device in to new ROM
8) Optional - Install Link2SD, Mounts2SD, etc...
9) Reboot in to recovery
10) Install GApps zip
11) Boot device in to new ROM again and enjoy
Thanks!
Thanks, I'll try that method tonight!

So this is what I would recommend you do. Perform a factory reset, flash all your caches. ect. Then flash the ROM, you can trim it but mine worked fine without any trimming. If you need the extra space then trim otherwise it doesn't matter.
After the rom has been flashed reboot the phone and boot into the Operating system. After you go through any initial set up, reboot the phone and then flash the Old BB fix. reboot again into the OS. After that go ahead and flash the Google apps.

I followed your advice, but still no carrier, ugh!
I even formatted the sd card to make sure there isn't something on there keeping it from working. Haven't given up, but running out of things to try, thanks again for trying to help, I do appreciate everyone's tips.

Are you with Simple Mobile? If so, the APNs aren't setup correctly. I have to manually enter my APN information after flashing a ROM. There is an APN for Simple Mobile named 'simple', however for data connections one need to be created name 'Simple DATA'. The APN information is freely available on Simple Mobiles web site or I can upload the information here.

I believe that IS the problem, all of the information in "about phone>status" is blank. I ended up flashing Rashed97's CM10 in order to have a working phone, and I have no problems. It may be that I am running too old a recovery. Back when I first rooted this phone the only recovery was Delisdre's and I'm still using it. If i knew a newer recovery that was known to work well with this phone I'd upgrade, and try that.

Settings->About Phone being blank tells me that you have the wrong radio libraries not an incorrectly setup APN. As in either old baseband with new baseband libraries or new baseband with old baseband libraries. What version of Android was on the device before it was rooted? Android 2.2 is old baseband, Android 2.3 is new baseband. It's possible that the baseband had been upgraded which is causing the confusion.

But fred's on p509 which means he's on old baseband only, same as you. I think a proper trim( maybe the libraries have not been written properly due to lack of /system space), a clean reflash & the old bb patch should work.
@ fred - do not flash gaaps. Try only the rom & the old bb patch. See if you get network after checking for proper apn. I use AmonRa recovery - works with all roms
Thanks guys, I'll try once more with a trimmed ROM and no gapps, will report back!
