Fingerprint Honor 6x does not work always - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Hello guys, my fingerprint reader is not always working as it is intended. If it is working unlocking my phone isn't a problem, it is as fast as it should be. Also guestures on the fingerprint reader are working fine - then sometimes the fingerprint reader doesn't recognize that I put a finger on it. No vibration and no unlocked phone (obiviously) and I have to enter my pin to enter my phone.
Reboot doesn't resolve this issue, as it comes back a few minutes after restart. Phone is about a month old and on the latest Emui firmware. Any suggestions beside full wipe and returning to service center?
Thanks in advance!

The weird thing is that it doesn't even vibrate as to show that it didn't recognized the fingerprint, but it just doesn't show signs of life... And neither a reboot solve the issue instantaneously? So strange. Tell me something more, did you updated OTA, or with Firmware Finder? You have something like Greenify installes? Other?

No a reboot doesn't change anything - there is no app installed for battery optimization or a taskkiller or something similar. I've got the phone a month ago, everything else works flawless. I did the first update to android 7 via sd card and received another ota update some days ago. Every update was an official update from Huwaei/Honor, i have a c432 BLN-L21 device with no carrier lock or branding. Build: BLN-L21C432B365, Security patches from 1st August.

Just checked my build, man, and... we're exactly on the same, identical build. I only have to download the update and apply it because I'm still on B360, thing that I'll do probably tomorrow (even if I'd like to download the full package of 2,45GB and not only the upgrade of 547M, I'd like to keep the package for future eventualities since that Huawei removed firmwares from their site). Don't know if the first update via SD card could be responsible somehow or not of this, you remember if the update made by SD was the correct version of firmware that was matching with your initial build?

Does it happen mostly after you take out your phone from pocket and try to unlock with FP? Or some other behaviour while unlocking normally

It makes no difference if I take it out of the pocket or it is just lying around before trying to unlock it. No other faulty behaviour beside the unlocking problem.
@RedSkull23 I'm pretty sure I had the right firmware and that it was matching the product exactly.

Well this tightens the circle of possible causes of this, did your phone ever dropped? I'm starting to think at an hardware problem now...

Try performing a hard factory reset but wipe the Cache Partition first. Be sure to back up all your data before you do this. That should help with any software conflicts.

Seems more of a hardware issue or may be a factory reset can help him here

Even I had the same problem. So the solution is to delete your previous finger print and than enable a new one. Hope this helps....

Windows Phone 7 Error Code: C101002E

I have been having this error where the phone prevents itself from booting, showing a screen that tells you to connect to PC , for a while. Only way to fix it is to remove the battery and restart but that is just a temporary fix. What exactly is this? What causes it? Is it a software issue or a hardware issue? Should I get an exchange or do you guys think this will be fixed with the next update?
Thanks
Never seen that error message. I'd say reset once, if you see it again, get it exchanged.
Yea this my 4th HD7 it shows the error code when you plug it to the PC in zune. Funny thing is that I owned a speck case and I reboot the phone in the case till then. This time i pulled the battery out, put it back in and powered the phone on without the case and it is working fine. I guess the case is pushing down a button or sth and that prevents the phone from working properly. Very weird..
Hey there! I've been having the same error! This is my 2nd HD7, I own the Speck case and I do not think its the case. This issue is happening on mine with or without the case. Pulling out the battery just doesn't cut it. I have to:
1. Remove the battery
2. Plug the USB Charger
3. Insert the battery back
4. Turn on.
I love the phone but this is really frustrating!
Edit: Too bad I can't post the link to youtube due to member status. But the video is up just search for it "c101002e"
Just happened to me too. First day using the Speck case too and i let the battery drain till it died and upon reboot it showed the 'plug into computer' screen. Hope it is just the case causing problems.
did you all updated the sd card ?
you could try to reflash this rom (if you are on t-mobile USA ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810346
Take this one "RUU_Schubert_TMOUS_1.20.531.01_Radio_5.51.09.11a_2 2.31.50.09_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE"
its just the stock tmous rom .
Weird coincidence that all of y'all are using the same case. Maybe it is damaging on of the buttons?

somewhere on the board they did tell that this case make the buttons really sensitive and it make the phone unusable .
theres a thread on tmobiles forums talking about the same issue, and most if not all the people there have the speck case. Someone says they tested it with and without the case and came to conclusion that the case is putting too much pressure on the camera button, which seems to be causing the problem.
would post the link to the other forum but i cant find it lol

Yea that was pretty much what was happening to mine. Although I remember trying to boot it without the case and having the same error before so what I did that I did a hard reset ( press power and both volume buttons at the same time) then when the phone booted, I rebooted it without the case immediately and its been working no problem since. I am pretty sure that case pushes the camera button since it grips the phone very tightly. I even overloaded the ram by opening lots of apps that runs in the background and then rebooted but it is working perfectly fine as of right now. Weird.. I am guessing its just a weird bug not a hardware defect.
I found it in a post in the mozart forums, so i tried it, as you do, cause its something new to play with cause my TP2 didnt like swimming, but anyway it was something about hoding down the camera button while power on, and it brought up a picture of a phone and cable and instructing you to plug it into a pc and when i did it started Zune and something about restoration error, so like in the previous posts it may be a stuck or faulty button somewhere on the phone that is causing it.
i didnt watch the video so if that had it in it never mind
cheers
Today 11 April 2011 I got notification about NoDo update for my phone.
It is HTC Mozart on Orange France network.
The pre-NoDo update was istalled about 20 days before.
The update got stuck at step 8. It seemed I had an unusable phone. In a periodic reboot mode into the update screen.
I checked on my W7 64 bit laptop the relevant backup folder, where all my phone data was supposed to have gotten backed up during the update. The folder was empty.
I therefore realized my phone got its rom corrupted during the update and I could not get back my pre-NoDo backup, since this latter was missing from my laptop.
Zune was on no help, stating a C101002E error.
The Windows Phone Support Tool was also of no use, reporting an error code while trying to restore my data.
XDA-forum provided me with a solution:
I went here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000781
and downloaded both bootloaders with relative roms.
After getting into the bootloader screen (red, green and blue screen), I installed the first ROM provided by Ansar. This could not install succesfully.
With the bootloader tool I could nevertheless confirm my idea I did not have anymore a functioning rom into my phone.
The second rom, the one ending with "Signed_by_ansar" could be succesfully installed.
I now have a Mozart fully functioning.
I had to restore my windows live account, Gmail, etc. My apps did not come back up after syncing with Zune.
I realized I just lost all my SMSs and home screen settings.
My phone was originally network unlocked and remained as such.
I got a notification that there is an official update for my phone the first time I rebooted. I will wait before attempting this update. The ROM by Ansar has got anyway copy/paste, being a NoDo ROM.
The ROM from Ansar, although for Orange France, removes the Orange splash screen when the phone starts. I guess if I need to use warranty on this phone right now I may have some issues with Orange France. Maybe when I update the phone following the update notification I got, I will re-establish a fully certified Orange ROM.
i9o pls and any one pls help me , i faced problem with [260] connection problem between my hd7 and pc vista 64 bit, actually i followed to steps in forum (error code C101002E) and drivers were installed (htc usb sync) before i started to flash rom NoDo bootloader 1, But no way still the problem [260]. i also tried another RUU htc asia xxx707xxx. because i have spl 1.23.2250.0(112138).also some links of RUU to download signed by ansar disappeared in rapid and other sourses, pls help to solve connection problem
Microsoft has release the Windows Phone Support Tool to fix this problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2530409

Do you know what this tool does to the computer?
I would try it but honestly don't want to do it before I have info what it does to my PC settings. Unfortunately MS doesn't share with this knowledge.
Hi everyone!
I have a big problem with my new hd7.
Just bought, and wired for the very first charging but the phone continues to restart by itself.
Tried a hard reset, to set it in download mode and fix with Windows Phone Support Tool but still nothing to do. Even tried to install a new ROM but at the first start it continues with its loop.
In download mode zune tried to upgrade to nodo but it shows the error C101002E.
Don't know what else to do. Any idea? It's new!

Things to do before updating?

Allright, I finally got my Honor 8! FRD-L09 in Belgium through V-mall.:victory:
I got a notice there is an update available. I am currently on EMUI 4.1. On my older devices I never update and just flash higher versions instead.
Anything I should do before initiating this update?
Are there any reasons not to update (yet)?
Is there anything I should do like backups and all?
I'm currently trying to do an adb backup but I forgot what exactly is included in that. It's not the same as a nandroid is it?
Some weeks ago I saw some people need some files still. Forgot where it was or which wording was used. Does anyone still need something from a new user? Likely the request has already been filled with more people having the device by now.
I'm going to check out this thread later and mess around with xposed and those cool things.
Anything else I need to know about my device?
Thanks guys! Let's make this device awesome!:highfive:

Hi miva2
Since getting my Honor 8 i've had a couple of ota updates which have installed fine (apart from installing some chinese app updates, but that happened because my phone is the chinese version with a supplier-installed mod to mostly make the phone english)
as far as I'm aware an OTA update should preserve all of your data and settings, but it can't hurt to regularly back up your personal files.
For this I use a nice little app called MyPhoneExplorer
not sure what the difference is between an adb and nandroid backup other than what I read here http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/48833/whats-the-difference-between-a-nandroid-backup-and-an-adb-backup
Hope that helps
The initial thing is to charge your mobile above 70% and take a backup of your data. In the future if any problem arises, then the first thing to do is the Factory data Reset.
So its better to wipe the cache and install the update.
Also remember your Google Password which is used for Login into your Android Google Account. All the Honor mobiles released in 2016 has Factory Data Protection. So you need to remember the username and password u used for logging in this mobile previously.
Before OTA update, check the instructions on screen, if any, usually it will show you to charge your phone above 50%. For major update, it will also remind you to backup your data (but I've never done that...)
Just make sure to have 70% of battery, or plug it in the charger
Thanks for the tips!
I'll try to make an adb backup again later. Had trouble finding the device through adb. Probably need some drivers or something.

OTA update won't delete the data. However it is recommended to reset once after the update.
So taking backup is useful.

You're absolutely right there bro
It's obvious, it became a habit in me
It is recommended that you update to the latest version as soon as possible. After you receive an update notification, you can enter Settings > Updater to check the update and choose whether to update. It is recommended that you update using a Wi-Fi connection.
Normally, system updates will increase your phone's performance, and strengthen personal privacy and data security protection. They also provide new features, therefore it is recommended that you update as soon as possible. If you do not update, you can still use your current system normally.
Performing a system update will not clear user data, but in order to protect your data security, it is recommended that you back up your data before updating. (NS)

Okay so backup is just for user data. nandroid is not needed.
With reset I assume you guys mean a factory reset and not just a reboot.
Hope I get my sim card soon (mine was too big) so I can actually start using this phone instead of having it decorate my bedside table.

Yes we mean the factory reset.
In the meantime you get the SIM, you can update through Wifi (if available).
SIM is not mandatory to update.

Sorry, bad use of language from me.
Not complete apps, but every now and then stuff pops up on screen, all in Chinese, that I don't understand, one such screen must be some media portal as there was hyperlink pictures (bit like a Chinese version of YouTube) but selecting returns server error.
I accidentally installed last ota and the next update notification screen that popped up was also in Chinese language. All my location settings are English so I figured the Chinese stuff must be updated system files because they started appearing after I installed updates (guess that's why supplier recommended no ota)

I did one OTA update from b106 -> b135. Next one is to b160 and says it includes 3 patches. I didn't get any chinese popups or anything. I uninstalled most of them and disabled notifications/autostart on the ones remaining.
What version are you on and hows your standby time? Just testing the phone a bit now and standby isn't looking too good. Left it overnight with Wifi on and it lost around 10%. Wondering if its the rom, some setting or normal?

I'm on version 160, can't resist installing to see what gets improved, but I think it only a matter of time before an ota install breaks this e-mod-rom, I guess when that happens I'll just have to either pay e-to-talk for replacement rom or factory reset
I leave phone overnight with wifi on and bluetooth on (linked to my pebble wristwatch) and tend to lose 3 to 4 % by morning, really impressed with battery life. Have you found battery management app? I'm sure you would have, it's got some nice features for saving power

It maybe because I had no sim in it and the phone was constantly checking for it. Turned on airplane mode and left for 8 hours, it lost 1%. Now trying airplane mode with Wifi on.
How do you know the rom is modded?

How do I fix strange behavior after 7.1.1 OTA update?

I have a Pixel and recently received the 7.1.1 OTA update. This morning my phone restarted and failed to boot properly. It does boot, and I get to the home screen where all apps seem to be functional. But there are several problems, including 1) I can't turn on cellular data, 2) the home button and the task switcher button do not work. Also, when I press the back, home or task switcher buttons, I get vibration feedback which is not how I had the phone set. Another odd thing is that when I check settings, it shows that the phone is on Android version 7.1 It is as if the phone tried to revert back to 7.1, but did not do so fully. Another anomaly is that when I got to the Play Store, all my apps appear as if they are not updated, even though I just installed available updates yesterday.
When I go to System Update, it shows a 261.9 MB update available to download. I assume that's 7.1.1 OTA update. I could try downloading and re-installing it, but before doing so, I wanted to see if anyone thinks that could cause more problems. Or, does anyone have another suggested step I could take. I would like to avoid a factory reset, if possible. Hopefully, there's another simple, quick solution.
Most likely it is easily fixable by just flashing the full stock 7.1.1 image from Google. Unfortunately it will wipe your device, but it is basically a surefire way to fix whatever went wrong.
It sounds like what happened is the OTA failed somewhere, bad download etc. As the pixel has the dual partitions if an OTA fails it will revert back to the last known working system. As @renegadeone8 mentioned, flashing the full 7.1.1 zip should cure your issues. You will have to unlock the bootloader to do so. (No a bad idea anyway imho Incase you have errors)
No harm in trying the OTA again. If it fails you won't be any further behind than you are now.
I'm having very similar issues, I also have no notifications and cannot pull down the full drop down menu or turn my data back on.
Thanks, k.s.deviate. I wish I had read your response earlier. It probably would have been good for me to at least try re-installing 7.1.1 again. However, I read from users on a different forum that they had experienced odd behavior very similar to what I experienced. In their case they didn't realize, at first, that the problem was associated with the 7.1.1 update. So, they re-installed it. Unfortunately, they had the same problems re-occur. For them the only solution was a factory reset and then not downloading 7.1.1 again.
That's what I've done. Everything is working great now. Android shows the 7.1.1 update available. Based on your assessment, I'm partially tempted to try installing it again. However, if it does end up with problems again, like it did the first time, I don't feel like I have the time to go through the whole factory re-install process again. So, I'm just going to stick with 7.1 for now and wait until either 1) I feel I have more time or 2) Google releases another update (7.1.2 ?) that might fix this problem. Thanks, again, though for your feedback.
exactly same here, so bad download could be ruled out. Also I've seen discussion on reddit and google forum, but unfortunely no solution was presented

Oreo on mate 9 without unlocking bootloader? Or a good method to fix all

Hi,i'm new on huawei. I need help to test the upgrade Oreo on a Mate 9. But i read that method needs Unlock bootloader actually or pay a lot funkyhuawei for credits. And other thread doesn't seems very simple to understand. The mate 9 in question is c432 european variant. I need this upgrade because on the latest upgrades:battery is horrible for 4000 mah (needs 2 charge on a day often ), sometimes phone remains with black screen and doesn't start (it needs forced reset), ui crash sometimes crash randomly, speakerphone sometimes breaks mic (and sometimes not), bluetooth sometimes on car doesn't work on mediaplayer and notifications sometimes arrive a lot later (i disable autoclose for all apps) . I tried a reset from recovery but it doesn't change a thing. What should i do? Oreo can fix those things? Because is a shame that a high end(and overvalueted in my opinion) phone have this horrible problems. Thank you and sorry for noob questions.

I'm not sure if Oreo will fix all your problems, but only way to install it is: apply to beta and get in (not sure if it's still open), use HWOTA which requires bootloader unlocked or funkyhuawei. Those are your options, or wait for release of course.

I try some weeks ago on beta ,but they cancelled the subscribe after almost 3 weeks who i send the request. This is really sad. Funky huawei doesn't need unlock bootloader ?but i read that you must pay to do something(and it is a shame..fw upgrade with money?it is android?)A hint to solve problems? It isn't mine(but of my GF) but i try everything .Sometimes phone, when it recieve calls doesn't ring or ring only last 5 seconds. All of those problems are a shame for a high end phone with high price.

Oreo will not help with your issues.
Try another factory reset, DON'T install any apps and see if it keeps happening. If it does, send your Mate to a repair centre. Might be a defective device (rare, but happens).

Oh well. I must try it by myself, but I think is almost impossible because it is of my gf and I must convince her to try to do a little change to try it. Thanks for reply I wait another answer. I try 4 resets. But same problems.
i use a new C432 (B197) No sync; no W-Lan; 2G; no BT; No NFC; 130 apk’s installed and have 0.2%/h battery drain- = ~5%/24! This is only 30% of my older LG G5.
If it is not possible to solve this problem with a factory reset, return it to the store you have buy it. If this is not possible, everything else will have a high risk to get a paper weight!
(After my own experiences, i would try to flash the full stock rom image xx29c432b198. But i can not recommand this way to somebody else, if he do non know more about this procedure)

(After my own experiences, i would try to flash the full stock rom image xx29c432b198. But i can not recommand this way to somebody else, if he do non know more about this procedure)

You can download the beta oreo for your mate 9 from the following website:
http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=MHA-L29&firmware_page=0
Extract the update.app from the zip file. Create a folder "dload" on your sdcard. Turn off the phone and press power+volume up+volume down at the same time for the software to be updated even with locked bootloader. I do not think your phone's problem will be solved just by the software update. However you can always try to update your phone to oreo.

No you can't. dload only works with "offline" firmware (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/development/rom-service-roms-t3693545).
Did you buy it new ? How old is it ? is it for your region ? Why have you not contacted Huawei ?

Mobile data problem after updating to Oreo

Hi,
I have my Honor 8 since January, it's FRD-L09 model. Recently I have updated to Oreo (FRD-L09C432B521) via HiSuite (of course did a factory reset after the update). The system works just fine except cellular data. More precisely, it's about turning it off. When I turn on the data there's a stable connection to LTE and everything is ok, but when I turn it off phone goes crazy. The device starts to heat up, all system apps (e.g. Settings, Contacts, Messages) are crashing. Sometimes there's also problem with touch - phone recognizes it just fine, but it doesn't respond, e.g. when I touch "back" or "home" button in the navbar there's an animation, but nothing happens. The phone also randomly resets. The only thing that helps is forced restart (holding the power button for more than 10 sec).
All this things happen ONLY AFTER turning off mobile data, so it basically comes to restarting my phone every time I turn off cellular data.
Did anyone have a similar problem? Is there any solution except rolling back to Nougat? Thanks in advance for your help, people

That's really strange, mine works perfectly even after Oreo without a factory reset. You should try another factory reset or a rollback to Nougat and then update to Oreo again (Maybe something went wrong when you update, but I'm not really sure).

Probably that's the only thing I can do since it looks like no one ever had such a weird problem Thanks for your time anyway, I'll try to do as you advice and write here if it helped.
Factory reset is mandatory, as far as I'm concerned, when doing a major update. Battery and general stability usually improves.

I did one after the update. Then the problem ocurred, so I did another (this time I wiped data & cache through recovery) as Kiruke adviced. Didn't help. The problem is present even when the device is clean. I also downloaded the last system version through eRecovery (unfortunately it seems in my country, Poland, Android 7 is no longer available because it downloaded B521), also didn't work. I tried resetting network settings, no luck. I contacted with Huawei support and it seems the only solution is to wait for some another update.

Have you tried to downgrade to some other version, going full stock and start the updating process over again?
Or even flash a OpenKirin ROM to see if the issue remains...?
Never came across this situation in all the devices and ROMs I've used.
