high graphics problem - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

how to run asphalt 8 in high graphics in honor 6x without any issue of lagging

That's an unusually demanding game. Unlike most games, you'll have to turn down the settings on midrange devices. I think an Honor 8/9 or a flagship device can do it, but not our 6x.

The honor 6x isn't capable of running asphalt 8 at Max graphics without hiccups, medium is good

3D performance is so bad?

Hi,
I've seen Antutu score is very high because the CPU is a monster. But the score of 3D performance is low and tests seen laggy.
What is really the performance in 3D games?.
Please, tell me your experience.
Greetings!

I want to know as well
Mate 8 using T880MP4 and GPU is just same performance with Samsung Note 5 T760MP6. Huawei not good at GPU for their chip but Mate 8 is enough for all current game. If you are a phone gamer, better wait for S7 with T880MP12 (Exynos) or Adreno 530 (SD820). I don't know why Huawei they don't use T880MP12.
The Mate 8 GPU T880MP4 is enough for the Phone, Display and Games. It's better for Accu!

i can tell you why: throttling!
with mp12 gpus ull get great scores for benchmarks but once u stress the system for more than one benchmark run (say, when gaming! ), throttling kicks in and u lose a great chunk of that wonderful performance. the kirin 950 doesnt have that problem, it stays right at its max. performance no matter how long u stress it and yes, due to the fullHD screen and absense of throttling its more than enough for all current games. i dont game much tbh, but i havent seen any lagging yet either...

I always felt like devices like oneplus 6 offer a better graphics and framerate when I compared my gameplay with their gameplay (I didn't technically check anything just by the looks I felt that). But with GPU turbo update I really feel like a lot has changed in my PUBG gameplay.I feel the new graphics are super fluid it's much better a competitor now to other devices now than before.
In games like PUBG a better graphics and stable framerates surely gives you an edge to get that chicken dinner and the battery drain is now significantly reduced too. Previously every Classic Game I played ( 25-35 mins ) used to consume 8-11 %of my battery but now its only consuming 6-9% battery that's a great improvement actually.I mean with 50% consumtion of battery I can now play 6( or 7 sometimes) Classic mode games of Pubg now without GPU turbo update I don't think it would last more 5 Classic modes.
Overall I think it sure is a game-changer update for every gamer considering the framerates stability and battery consumption, that's what every gamer needed right ?
If you ask me,I would say it sure adds another reason to prefer Honor 10 over other devices for a normal user and as for a gamer it's everything they need !
So Huawei is literally paying XDA (and to an extent, users) to be able to claim positive feedback from the community? This is not advertising, this is buying reviews. I strongly suggest to terminate the contract with Huawei as soon as possible.
I understand that the people responsible for marketing are not the ones responsible for the bootloader decision. But this is definitely coming from the marketing team, wich shows that these people (or at least the majority of them) are just as deceptive.
This is a reason for a full boycott of Huawei and Honor for me and hopefully more people.
Analysis of GPU Turbo on the Honor 10
GPU Turbo technology by Honor & Huawei -
Intro -
GPU turbo is the latest in the line of innovations from Huawei & Honor to improve upon android and provide a better Gaming experience on their devices. CPU Turbo technology has also been announced with the launch of Honor Note 10 in China, but CPU Turbo and “the Nine” cooling system are a blog for another day (After the global launch at the end of August). In this blog, I will limit my review of GPU Turbo on the Honor 10, which is the first device from Honor to receive the tech via an OTA starting the 3rd of August, 2018.
Honor has launched quite a few devices in 2018 with HiSilicon’s latest and greatest, the Kirin 970. The Kirin 970, being based on the Cortex A73 and A53, with the Mali G72 MP12, falls behind when it comes to the modern Snapdragon 845 with its Adreno 630 GPU, considering most games are better optimised to run on Adreno devices. Honor / Huawei’s answer to level the playing field in terms of gaming is the GPU Turbo technology.
Essence of GPU Turbo –
GPU Turbo is basically a software based upgrade to Kirin based devices, that through certain tweaks improve the efficiency of the GPU. It is no way a FPS booster, but a software that stabilises GPU performance variations and reduce GPU battery consumption. It liaises between the app and the APIs that govern graphics (Graphics drivers) and identifies what graphics assets are to freshly loaded and what can be reused and hence can be used to reduce the GPU load and power consumption. Huawei has claimed a 60% performance boost and a 30% better battery efficiency. GPU turbo is rolling out to most of the Huawei & Honor devices released in the past 2 – 3 years and Huawei P20 series and Honor 10 would be the first in line to receive the updates in August.
GPU Turbo on the Honor 10
What changes have the GPU Turbo brought to the Honor 10’s gaming performance ? To understand this, we need to understand the caveats of the
GPU Turbo technology. The GPU Turbo technology requires the app or game to be optimised for the GPU Turbo tech and only then will there be a difference in performance. Currently only PUBG and Mobile Legends.
Here is the review of GPU Turbo in terms of PUBG gameplay pre and post update –
Observations pre update –
W/O GPU Turbo
The framerates were 30 FPS give or take during the homescreen, but as soon as the match begins, the variations in FPS spiked. The FPS ranged from 15 to 32 FPS at different points in the game.
This gameplay is at Ultra settings at HDR, with the auto adjust graphics feature switched off to maintain a level base point and standard circumstances. The battery drain over an hour of PUBG gameplay was 28% at a constant CPU temperature of 42⁰C and a processor load of 18%.
Observations post update -
With GPU Turbo
The framerates didn’t improve any farther than 30FPS, but with the GPU Turbo, the framerate variations were next to none, with the framerates hovering near 30 FPS throughout the gameplay (+/- 3 FPS).
The battery usage for an hour of gameplay was 23% at a constant CPU temp at 40⁰C, with a processor load of 13%. That is impressive considering that it is the same hardware, but the numbers advertised by Huawei & Honor doesn’t seem to materialise under everyday conditions.
Inference / Expectations –
Considering the fact that GPU Turbo is supported by two games as of now, Huawei & Honor have to push more developers to support their new tech and with the Note 10 on the horizon, introducing CPU Turbo, the gaming vision of Honor seems apparent. It is to be seen how mobile gaming would change as Qualcomm has announced similar CPU and GPU announcements for their SoCs.

Pictures didn't load in the previous reply from a PC. So I added them below, pre GPU Turbo framerate, Post GPU Turbo Framerate and Post GPU Turbo System stats -
Honor 10 Turbo update:
Hello I am from Pakistan today my honor 10 was updated to turbo and frankly speaking my experience was really ausome after the update the device normal battery life have much improved and while gaming it is really ausome and most of the heavy game's are played very smoothly and after the update the device speed has also improved and I really want to thanks Huawei for this update after the update the Huawei device are far better friendly used as compared to other brands...
I really love to test that and so many other thing like camera; but after some Economical problem in Iran ( I am not Iranian, I just live in Iran) my dream to have one honor is getting further away ( almost inaccessible)

Marketing team at Huawei should understand that locking down the bootloaders of their phones while sponsoring a forum that lives on unlocked bootloaders is adverse publicity, to say the least...
Honor 10 GPU Turbo is really great. I have updated the system yesterday and spend some time playing Mobile Legends and PUBG. Playing the games is really smooth comparing with before the update, no more pause or interruption during playing. Honor is really doing a fantastic job on this update. Really to have Honor 10 as my device.
fake contest marca xdaroni, dont bother
Honor 10 is amazing
Since two weeks now i’ am testing the Honor 10 with GPU Turbo, at the beginning i didn’t find any differences, maybe only on loading time. But after a couple of days, playing at PUBG and Asphalt 9, my favourite games, i have find a real improvement on the game itself. Honor 10 it doesn’ t have any lags and now with the latest upgrade it show up more details during a game, and of course, loading time is faster too. By the time i have also monitored the battery, and yes, there is an improvement on the battery as well.
Before Honor 10 was already a best buy for me, but now, it is even more, all your money will worth the purchase. I wish to say well done Honor.
Overall review
The GPU turbo really kicks in when bombing or shooting,to give 4D gaming experience. Battery usage was optimised by an incredible amount pubg(0.7) at medium graphics,30fps ran smoothly for hours (6hours to be precise).thermal throttling has exceptionally decreased,I fast charged and played simultaneously but to my surprise the game was going smoothly, the peak temperature was 43 degrees Celsius which is THE BEST. This truly is flagship in its own league there is no competition for such beast of a phone hats off to you guys. KEEP IT UP!!!!!
Unfortunately, with a locked boot loader and a suspension of the policy to allow it, there isn't a lot of purpose to exploring the other features.
I'd happily leave a review, but unfortunately the update hasn't even shown up on my device yet (UK).
Not exactly fair to announce a competition with a 10 day limit when some people seemingly may not even receive the update before the deadline!
Honor gpu turbo is laughable at best especially when similar devices already outperform Honor devices without the need for a "boost". After the update my OnePlus 6 still reigns king when gaming or any other tasks I perform and that's on my stock rom slot A, you know because we can unlock our bootloader and flash custom roms. My Honor device is more than likely going to be sold or used for soldering practice. It's really a shame that a company allows it's customer base, developers and modders to push them to the top only to pull the rug out from underneath their feet. Vaguely reminds me of another company ?? that refuses snapdragon users to customize their over priced devices.......
Conclusion : This update should be called gpu fps stability update because that is all it has done in 2 games only. Could be months or longer before more developers adopt this stabilizing update. PUBG 27-32 fps to a stable 30-31 fps but again compared to the OnePlus 6 at a very stable 40fps and very soon to improve, it's pointless to bother with my Honor devices. Simply put what is marketed is NOT the actual improvements you will see except a small gain in battery life.
"You have ten days to submit your GPU Turbo review before Honor picks some winners."
5 days passed, got 10 days to submit the review, but still haven't receive the GPU turbo update.
or can i review without using the technology itself?
I am game developer in Bohemia Interactive Game Studio so games are my work. And after i install GPU turbo update, i noted better FPS and also battery life, but only in supported games.
Yeah, I have a comment to make.
Sucks that your parent company is so openly and shamelessly rejecting and neglecting the American Mate 10 Series.
You can make that into a question if you'd like and maybe go the extra mile for, somewhat disgruntled customer and provide a decent, convincing explanation.
We don't have to further derail. A new dedicated thread or even a pm would do.
Rant, only at this time and place, over.

God bless Microsoft for making the app, Huawei for wanting it, and Google for the implementation of that API.
Got the honor 10 GPU Turbo Update later than expected. But upon trying it out, framerate stability is improved. I have yet to notice significant difference in battery life. There seems to be many variables at play (screen brightness, volume, network signal, etc.)

Why asphalt 9 lagging in Redmi Note 7 pro?

Asphalt 9 frame drops in redmi note 7 pro and also not available motion blur even in high graphics settings .Almost 1 year since device launched even though SoC SD675 not compatable ?

Use a custom kernel, that gave me around 40-60% FPS boost in some games.

ZenFone 7 Pro Issues

Hi folks, I recently bought the ZenFone 7 Pro, I could see that it has a somewhat out of curve consumption, I drew these conclusions comparing with my Motorola Edge Plus where it has a stand by much more efficient than his and also a management in the cores. Another point that I would like someone to test to see if it’s not just me, the game Genshin Impact after 3-8 minutes of departure the game starts to give absurd dropframes (something that my edge plus and s10 lite could run without presenting this type of situation) someone else with the same performance problem? And apparently the device gives a lot of thermal throttling.
If any of you have the same problem, we have to knock on Asus' door and ask for a solution on top of that.
I put two prints of the motorola edge plus, one related to the use of the CPU with nothing open and the other of the thermal throttling test.
I mean, for hardcore gaming I'd say one would be better off with an IPS display (like Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro). Just because of the burn-in possibility. But, that phone would also throttle most likely. I have one, but yea I hate games for Android - I play games via emulator all the time (and cloud gaming).
High-end SOC in phones will always thermal throttle unless you purchase a gaming phone like an ASUS ROG, or Black Shark, or whatever else. These chips produce a huge amount of heat that needs exceptional cooling.
Even high-end phones just don't have enough cooling to deal with the sustained heat load coming of these chips. To name a few: so, for example, Zenfone 7 Pro, OnePlus 8 Pro/8T, S20 FE. And the Zenfone 7 Pro uses a binned, even faster CPU (865+).
Keep in mind that IF the game is FPS locked to refresh rate and the other phone was 60hz, then your Zenfone 7 has to push +30FPS resulting in way more heat. (60 vs. 90)
Basically, there is a lot involved.
I'd limit FPS to 60 if possible as starters.

I agree with you on certain points, but on others I disagree. If you look at the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Motorola Edge Plus, both have the same cooling system compared to ZenFone 7 Pro (a copper plate with thermal paste, S10 lite has only the copper plate without thermal paste, just look for videos "teardown"). Apart from Zen 7, the Motorola edge plus runs this game perfectly and does not have all the conditions that the Black Shark 3 has for cooling, same happens with s10 lite ... on the s10 lite I recorded a 1h video running this game and without thermal throttling heavy or draining the battery. As for the Zenfone 7 Pro, I'm sure Asus didn't optimize the kernel well, besides giving a lot of thermal throttling to the genshin impact, its standby is horrible (which is justified by the CPU oscillations in the print that I posted and you can see compared to edge Plus) 6h I left it quiet, it went away 3.5% of the battery, while on edge plus it was 1%. I asked people to test it, just to be sure of the presence of this bad optimization.

Suggest gaming phones with no heat issues

Hello
Please suggest me some phones for play call of duty mobile (for 1 to 3h play with low graphic but max FPS) with no heat issues
and cool down self to keep total temp under 40°C
As you know, top 3 snapdragons models
(888+ and 888 and 870) have a overheat problem, i have Poco F3 And i think if i buy Black Shark 4 or Nubia 6 or Rog Phone 5,
i never have overheat but i see many real testing videos and i understand all these phones heat like a sun!
Thanks for your time.
