lol cheers didn't realise

Also for G950F ?

Maybe a little more information, bud?

I do not believe OP realizes cf auto root website auto generates root files for model. I expect this root to fail if flashed...
I'm assuming he saw model supported and assumes it works. Last I heard they didn't wanna put in the work for this yet.

You can search cf auto root site for for your model. Do not try to flash root for a different model phone...ever.
When it comes to s8 I'd do more research on cf auto root, something tells me it's not that easy

Re
In official page cf auto root its avaible root for this firmware, why u dont believe?u can check this, and now: anybody was rooted with this cf auto root linked here or not?

[Q] Now that we have 5.1.1, what's the best way to upgrade while retaining root?

I have heard people say to use Flashify, but what needs to be done to the 5.1.1 rom in order for this to work? Do we wait for someone to deodex the rom or...?

Wait.
Am I wrong for saying this? As I have heard no one else mention it, but.
Unroot, upgrade with Smart Switch, reroot when able to on 5.1.1.

No one knows when or if a root method without tripping Knox will be available for 5.1.1.

No you do not. It is built into the phone and accessible via the dialer without root. The OP did not enter the code correctly.
You need to root your S6 to change CSC.

No you are not wrong. You do not need root. I've done it multiple times on the Note 3 Galaxy S6 and my friends Edge. Only the CSC Changer app requires root.

It absolutely is possible, and absolutely does not need root. For those saying its not possible without root, can you please explain to me why this video shows me doing it??? @roydok Its possible and easy!
This is a factory wipe on a fresh firmware unrooted with status showing as Official and root checker showing no root.
https://youtu.be/c7BuS5EF3Yk
PS please excuse my dickish attitude in the video. Drinking with the Irish brings the nasty out in me
The procedure does not work on my dual SIM G920FD Duos S6 no matter how many times I try entering any of the 2 IMEIs of my S6. I guess root is the only way for me to change CSC.

It seams there is the caveat. We sorry saps in Canada haven't been given the 5.1.1 update. We're the bastard redheaded step child of the S6 community. They must have locked it down in 5.1.1. When we finally get it here I'll let you know what I find out.

Root and more on J7 Star for Tmobile (SM-J737T)?

Does anyone know anything useful on rooting a J7 Star (SM-J737T) from Tmobile? How about for getting a builds of TWRP and LineageOS for it?
Following this thread. I'm very interested on the information you seek.
I just spoke to one of the top contributors to TWRP that did the Galaxy a8 and he may do the j737. I'm sure if we donate it will give him more of an incentive !

Try building a cf autoroot file for your device and flash it. Make sure frp is disabled. If it fails to flash the bootloader is locked just saying but if it does flash your good. That is always the first test you should do before going for custom roms and recoveries. Update: this phone is so new that it isn't listed on firmware.mobi
