Does anyone know anything useful on rooting a J7 Star (SM-J737T) from Tmobile? How about for getting a builds of TWRP and LineageOS for it?
Following this thread. I'm very interested on the information you seek.
I just spoke to one of the top contributors to TWRP that did the Galaxy a8 and he may do the j737. I'm sure if we donate it will give him more of an incentive !

Try building a cf autoroot file for your device and flash it. Make sure frp is disabled. If it fails to flash the bootloader is locked just saying but if it does flash your good. That is always the first test you should do before going for custom roms and recoveries. Update: this phone is so new that it isn't listed on firmware.mobi

No you do not. It is built into the phone and accessible via the dialer without root. The OP did not enter the code correctly.
You need to root your S6 to change CSC.

It absolutely is possible, and absolutely does not need root. For those saying its not possible without root, can you please explain to me why this video shows me doing it??? @roydok Its possible and easy!
This is a factory wipe on a fresh firmware unrooted with status showing as Official and root checker showing no root.
https://youtu.be/c7BuS5EF3Yk
PS please excuse my dickish attitude in the video. Drinking with the Irish brings the nasty out in me
The procedure does not work on my dual SIM G920FD Duos S6 no matter how many times I try entering any of the 2 IMEIs of my S6. I guess root is the only way for me to change CSC.

It seams there is the caveat. We sorry saps in Canada haven't been given the 5.1.1 update. We're the bastard redheaded step child of the S6 community. They must have locked it down in 5.1.1. When we finally get it here I'll let you know what I find out.
I really hope someone can help me. I like many, tried to update my ascend mate 7 to Marshmallow from B331 and it failed and I am now stuck in bootloop. My phone is not rooted and the bootloader is not unlocked. I have tried to get an unlock code from Huawei twice to unlock the bootloader, and I haven't been successful. I have tried to flash a handful of firmwares and have been unsuccessful. I even tried to flash a stock ROM and that failed. I don't know what to do. I don't know anything about rooting, it's completely foreign to me. I can't afford to buy another phone and I can't really afford to send this in for repair. Someone please help!!

Whats the best way to root a Galaxy J7 from tmobile USA, model SM-J700T?
I thought I would have this j7 rooted already myself.
Ran into fastboot issues like in the V10 forums after mm update. Seems fastboot oem unlock is disabled yet you can click to unlock in developers? Kinda of pisses me off about that. Everyone blamed LG for that but now I see a 2nd T-Mobile phone with same issue.

Yeah the J7 is good for the price without all the bells and whistles. I am seriously thinking of returning it for a refund and getting a Note 5.
I can understand that. I didn't get a note partly because since i want to remove as much samsung software as possible, it makes the s-pen almost unusable therefore a waste of the extra money. Also, i am little impressed with this device for the money. Had it been only 1-1 1/2 gig of ram like the other models I'd pass on it.

Just follow this it will work. After unlocking the bootloader (official or unofficial bl unlock), run the cmd for flashing the official twrp "fastboot flash boot_a twrp-3.2.3-1-NB1.img" & "fastboot flash boot_b twrp-3.2.3-1-NB1.img" then after flashing run the cmd "fastboot reboot recovery", then flash magisk for rooting.
