I am bit curious about the Motorola Services that are continuously running in background.
Can I stop and disable them from app manager or Greenify?
What that services exactly do? Disabling them what will be the side effects if any.
Motorola services is running 5 services in it:
1. sundryService
2. Checkin scevice
3. OTA service
4. CloudConnectServiceDeviceManageme
5. Motorola service
I am not very much bothered about 2, 3 and 4. What are the rest.
Any help?
You can Greenify them, no problem.

Do I need to Greenify each and every service separately or Greenifying Motorola services alone will do for all?
I hope there is no side effect of Greenifying those services. Please let me know.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603738 this is a thread on what services are safe to disable. No greenifying Motorola services alone won't disable everything, you have to do it one by on. Hope it helps
I have used apps such as "BetterBatteryStats" "AppOpsXposed" "Amplify" "PowerNap" "Greenify" to find apps that could and mostly should be frozen/disabled.
System apps can be frozen through titanium backup!
Free alternative debloating software!

I found some great information I wanted to share. Three apps ims, mlt, lte phone drain the battery severely. With our them, I have had normal battery life. 5 hrs or screen on time.
I attached a list of the bloatware I disabled with titanium backup.

That sucks. I'm worried about rooting because I have the h950 and we have no way to return to stock yet.

MLT can be disabled without root just by entering to the hidden menu.
Type 277634#*# in the dialer. Go to SVC Menu, then MLT.
Anyone use app ops to disable permissions like keep awake?
Which apps do you recommend?
Updated the information

Hey guys, I have made adjustments to my phone to increase battery life, remove bloatware, and decrease lag. They have significantly improved my phones experience.
Bettery battery life
App ops to disable keep awake of multiple apps like google play services and google now. Disable other permissions
Disable many of the useless google app wake up paths with greenfly or disable services
amplify xposed module
Safe bloatware list
I attached a list of the bloatware I disabled.
Decrease lag
Adjust thermal settings
Change cpu governor to interactive.
change i/o scheduler to noop and read ahead to 1024.
Let me know what you think!

Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure why. I have the same things and more frozen along the same rom. Works fine.
Anyone else have this problem?
I'm afraid you might of froze an important system app

I actually removed the apk's for all of the files noted in your thumbnails with titanium backup. That must have been the difference. So in your case you just froze everything with xposed?
How do you change the kernel & Cpu settings?

Do you really notice improvements in battery life?

yes. The biggest improvement would be from the xposed amplify battery module.
Hi,
I'm considering to get the device soon but one thing that's frightening me is battery life and more precisely SOT :S
I've read that without these mods users gets 4 hours SOT in average.
Knowing that I have an heavy use of my smartphone (BT always on for my smartwatch, often streaming music in 3G/4G on Spotify, Facebook/Messenger sync, internet browsing and games ...) I wonder how much SOT/battery life do you get with these mods ?

rooted, h955ar rom over h950, removed almost all lg software and greenify only, I have premium, but no xposed.
I have no idea what could cause it... I installed greenify, amplify and naptime but it wont stop. Please someone help and if it matters im using NucleaROM 1.7 with xposed installed.

I won't really give you the answer you want but it's very simple to find out.
Google bam_dmux_wakelock
You'll find tons of info that's easy to understand (hint - mobile data)
I googled but i can't still figure what it could be... I got all my widgets on manual refresh, i don't have maps installed and i use GPS on high accuracy.
hello guys.
i need an app that can block wakelocks and Alarms manually.
i tried myandroidtools - servicely ....but they coudnt find any of the alarms that i need to block.
i have idle drain.checked with betterbattery stats and found out what is draining battery in idle time.i am using Phoenix aex that has alarm blocker itself.i blocked them and my idle drain fixed.
i need an app similar to this that i can use on any rom.
i hope you guys can help me.
thank you.
If what you need is a receiver blocker (from what i see from your screenshot) you can use ROM Toolbox Pro , Auto Start Manager tools inside that app will do the job, it has Advanced freezer as well,
Combine it with my magisk module for GMS, and AppOps from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rikka.appops install it as system plugin to get a full feature,
Deny keep awake/prevent phone from sleeping permission for Google Play Services and Google Play Framework

There is an app called Amplify I'm pretty much sure you're looking for this one. But it needs xposed to work. If you really want to block alarms just go back to MM

With all the work Google put into background battery life in Oreo, are apps like Greenify needed anymore? That was one of the primary reasons to root IMHO. Do we need that?
I'm wondering the same thing.
Oreo caches apps in the back ground.
It works, but I still use Greenify to clean up the apps that I do not want cached.

I personally felt the need for greenify was obsolete since Nougat arrived. Also in my experience I found that using it was detrimental/made no difference to battery life over time.
When I first got my Pixel 2, idle drain seemed high, so I tried Greenify. It seemed to help. I then uninstalled Greenify and there was no difference in battery life. I now believe the initial drain was just part of the phone calibrating itself and Greenify did not really do anything.
For some apps like instagram/facebook you really need greenify to prevent them running in the background.

Can't you just use oreo's settings to limit background activity and to optimize battery for those apps?

They still manage to run in the background for me Same with microsoft office apps!

I use Greenify to control the play store app, services framework, and other system apps that think they need to suck down the battery. I use Google Maps all the time but I don't want it running in the background when I am not using the phone. My phone is not rooted and I plan on keeping it that way for awhile. So far the battery is lasting a long time but I don't use the assistant or any other service that goes beyond making phone calls and texting. Facebook and the others can keep their battery draining apps to themselves.
I swapped out Greenify for Naptime. Naptime makes a difference.
