I was doing some googling and this is as good a place as any to find users who have a clue.. so Im wondering if anyone has had this problem or a workaround.
I have a SE X1 (winmo 6.1) I configured my imap mail perfectly, but the only folders my device download from is the Inbox. I have other folders that I use to sort mail into (via mail rules on my desktop).. which are not downloading mail at all. I can see them listed, but they all show empty.
I was hoping this would be fixed in winmo 6.5, so I upgraded my X1 to 6.5 and the problem still exists. Has anyone else managed a workaround to synce other folders.. to clarify in the diagram below .. is an example of my structure .. in the example I am not getting mail in my client 1 or client 2 folder
Imap - Inbox
- Sent
- Client 1
- Client 2
- etc...
I hope that makes sense
Hi
I've got the same problem. If anyone has an answer...
Furthermore, the folders of my pocket outlook, like "sent messages" are created in my web mail account (like yahoo), because the name of theses folders (sent, trash...) are not the same.
UP!
I also have the same issue...
May be somebody can give an alternative?
Sync other folder
You can sync any folder you wish by selecting it as a managed folder. To do so follow these steps.
1. Open your mail box.
2. Click the options button and select Tools
3. Select Managed folders
4. Select each folder you wish to sync then click ok
The next time you send and receive mail the folder will be synchronized.
I had this same problem and just recently discovered this solution. In my case I would send a message from my Yahoo email account and although it would tell me it was sent, I would have no verification after the fact. It was not listed on my device in the sent folder nor was it listed via the website in the sent folder. I had to send a test to another one of my email accounts to verify the send funciton was actually working.
PLEASE NOTE: You should make sure your sent folder is fairly clean before syncing. I did not clean it first and it had to sync over 300 messages from that one folder.
I have tried this, but it appears that only allows the sync via activesync and not via the normal internet connection (ie when you are not connected to your pc) .. am I missing something ?

This is the way to do it on Win MO 6.1 - I have this set up on Blackstone.
Unfortunately on HD2 (6.5) I can not find Tools and manage folders choice.
Anybody knows where it is hidden?
FOUND IT!
Before someone else spends hours looking - Disable Sense, go to win standard GUI - all settings are there. Same thing with repeat sound in alarm.... GUI is hiding settings!!!!
Why HTC thinks they know what I want to see and adjust?
Often I do not want it the way I want it!!!!

I think you'll find that the option is there, it's just not immediately obvious that one needs to scroll down.
From your home tab, do the following:
Email tab
Inbox (left soft key)
Menu
At this stage it APPEARS that 'Go to >' is the last menu item. It actually isn't. If you scroll down you will reveal 'Tools' 'Select Messages' and 'Send via Bluetooth' .
'Manage folders' is in the 'Tools' sub menu.
No need to disable Sense.

Hi Franwella. Excellent tip. I could not spot the tools option and you led me straight to it and now I have managed to sync IMAP sub folders with my Gmail account. Brilliant ! Thanks.
Cannot download messages from server over IMAP
Hello,
I would like to ask you for some help because I cannot find a solution to my problem and I really appreciate your expertise.
So, here is the problem:
Facts.
I have 2 email accounts:
- the main business account running on a IceWarp Merak 9.x server
- a personal account running on Gmail server.
Problem.
If I receive on both addresses (servers) the same html e-mail witch contains formatted text and pictures, then using the native e-mail messaging client of my Windows Mobile 6.5 HTC smartphone, here is what I get:
- on the main business account the message cannot be seen. What I see from the message is only BODY.PEEK[2]
- on the Gmail account I can see the full message, exactly as I can see it on my desktop.
I played with all the settings from „Message download limit” and „Download attachments„ for the main business account, in order to get it working. Here is what I found:
- any settings for „Download attachments„ does not change the behavior, the result is the same (BODY.PEEK[2])
- for „Message download limit” if I choose „Headers only”, download headers and then mark the message for download it is working. But this means that I should connect twice – more bandwidth and more time spent until get the messages. If I choose any other option except the above mentioned, I get the bad result BODY.PEEK[2]...
This problem is very annoying because I cannot read my business mails if I'm out of the office.
What do you think?
It is a server problem (IceWarp Merak 9.x)?
Or the native messaging client from Windows Mobile 6.5?
Can you help me to solve this problem?
Looking forward for your reply,
Best regards,
Stefan
Hi everyone,
I've been searching for an app to do this but I haven't found one. I might write up one soon but I'm too busy, so today I found a relatively simple way to do it manually. Basically, this gets Facebook contact information, including email and phone numbers, of all your friends and copies them to your Gmail contacts. There are quite a few steps, but this is really something you have to do once. When this is all said and done, your Google contacts will have all the necessary information, and you don't have to worry about rejoining all the contacts if you lose the data (by flashing a new ROM, for instance).
Things this will not do:
1. Grab contact photos. There might be a way around that, but I'm not sure.
2. Link social media, like statuses and such. This is all STATIC information.
3. This only works on Galaxy S phones (I think). Other phones might be able to follow the same general procedure if they're able to import ALL facebook contact into the phonebook.
This assumes that all of your contacts on your phone are synced to your primary Gmail account.
So, here's the procedure.
1. Create a backup of your Google contacts, save them to your Desktop. You can do this by going to Gmail -> contacts -> Actions -> Export.
2. To be safe, you can export your phone's contacts as well, in case something goes wrong. To do this: Contact -> Menu -> Import/Export -> Export to SD.
3. Import ALL of your Facebook friends into your contacts. To do this: Menu-> Get friends -> Check all of them, then press Save. This part can take awhile, so be patient.
4. Export all of your contacts to your SD card again. Contacts -> Menu -> Import/Export -> Export to SD. This includes ALL your contacts, existing and facebook contacts, but the important part is that the Facebook contact information is included. The file will be named 0000x.vcf, where x is some number, and it should be located under /sdcard/external_sd.
5. Transfer that .vcf file to your computer. You'll need a file manager like Astro, and you can email the file to yourself.
6. In google contacts, create a group called "Original Contacts", and add all of your current contacts to that group.
7. Also, create another group called "Facebook" (or whatever).
8. In google contacts, import your .vcf file, which was exported from your phone. To import: Contacts -> Actions -> Import. Check the option "Add all contacts to this group:" and pick the group "Facebook".
9. When that's done, go to "My Contacts" -> Actions -> Find and merge duplicates. Check to be sure that the right contacts are being merged, then press OK. All of your existing contacts that have associated Facebook information will be merged.
10. Go to your "Original" contacts group, and remove the "Facebook" contact label from all of them.
11. Go to the "Facebook" group, select all of them contacts, and delete them.
12. Ta da!!! All of your original contacts now have Facebook information right in Google contacts, and data portability is no longer an issue! All the contacts you didn't care about are also gone as well!
13. This step is optional. By doing this, you might find that you'll get contacts that have duplicate entries for phone numbers. To fix this, you can export the "Original" contacts group as a CSV file, open it up in Excel, and quickly remove all the duplicate phone number entries. This is actually a very quick process - it took me about 2 minutes. Save that file, then go into Google and delete ALL of your contacts. Then, import that CSV file you just edited. Now, you have all of your contacts but all the duplicate data entries have been removed.
14. Clean up: you can delete the Facebook group and the 'Original' contact group, as those were just to keep things organized.
Photos are probably not preserved. They weren't for me - other people might have different results based on whether they perform the optional step or not.
I hope this helps everyone!
I upgraded from a HTC Imagio running Windows Mobile 6.5 to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it is my first foray into the Android world, so I hope you can help with the following. As you can see, it was a big step up the ladder of mobile operating systems!
1. If I have a name prefix for my contact in the contact list, like Mr./Ms./Mrs./Dr., the name does not autocomplete for that contact from the phone keypad. When I enter the letters of the first or last name on the phone keypad, the contact does not show up. However, if I delete the name prefix and leave it blank, it shows up fine. Is there some setting to have all the contacts show up or is it a bug? Is it happening for others too?
2. On the Windows phone, I had a reminder application which showed a list of all reminders. I could set the reminder to repeat after any number of days/weeks/years. However, in the Android Calendar, when I set an event, I am unable to set the number of days/weeks/months/years it has to repeat. For example, I need an event to repeat every 365 days (calendar with no leap day) but I cannot set it on my phone or in GMail. Also, when the alarm goes off, I would like to be reminded again after a day or a few hours or a few minutes until I dismiss the notification so I can have the remidner go off a few days before the event as a reminder. I don't know if that is possible too. I looked at a couple of apps from the Play Store but could not find one which does everything. Anyone know of a trick to get this to work?
Update: DGT GTD & To-Do List with its recent updates now does what I need. Thanks to the author for adding the features.
3. When I check my gmail in the web browser, I am unable to delete the mails. I touch the trash icon but it stays highlighted but does not delete the mail. Is that a bug or am I again doing something wrong? I have different gmail accounts that I would like to check on the phone without transferring contacts and calendar entries.
Update: Looks like a bug in the stock web browser. GMail works as expected in Chrome browser
4. Is there a clear writeup of how the calendar and contacts sync between gmail and the phone? I had transferred all my contacts from my Windows mobile phone to gmail and they showed up on my S3 when I set up the gmail account. However, they would not transfer to my phone. I had to export the contacts to a file on my phone and then import the contacts into my phone. Maybe I do not need the contacts to reside on the phone? I was worried that if I was in an area with poor or no signal reception, then I may not be able to view the contacts if they were only on my gmail account and not on the phone.
4a. Similarly, I would like to know how the calendar entries from gmail can be pulled on to the phone.
Thanks in advance for your help and patience in reading the above! I have a lot to learn but hope I can get my phone to work the way I would enjoy. If you can suggest any resource for reading other than XDA and Android Central, that would be great too.
Oops. This should have been posted in the Q&A Forum. Mods, can you please move it if that is where it belongs? Thanks!

The Google Calendar is an awesome app to help stay organized, but it can be too tedious if you get bombarded with emails and alarms every time you approach an event, regardless of importance. This is why I have spent a little bit of time trying to find out why it automatically adds these reminders to events. This cannot be disabled withing the Google Calendar app, so you have to use your browser to navigate to the web-based calendar by Google.
1. Go to https://www.google.com/calendar and sign in with the appropriate account.
2. Click the gear in the top-right corner and click Settings in the drop-down menu.
3. Click on the Calendars tab
4. Click on the Edit Notifications link next to your main calendar (Usually named with your First and Last name)
5. In the Event notifications area, remove all the entries. For example, I had Pop-up and E-mail and I removed both of these.
6. Hit the Save button in the top-left corner.
Now when you create new events within the Google Calendar app, they will not be set-up with automatic event reminders.
