Hi,
With the Note 10.1, can I open up two browsers at once with the split screen function? My best buy doesnt have a demo unit, and would like to know. Thanks in advance.

Just tried it. Looks like the answer is no.
Nope, You can only have one browser and one other selected app i. e. polaris office, video player, email,S-note or gallery. You may be able to use a pop up browser avaiable on google Play and use this as a second browser.
Edit:
l have just tried my suggestion above and can confirm that it is possible by installing a third party pop up browser. The one I am using is called "Onskreen Browser", I have attached a screenshot that shows two browsers and the S-pen app loaded side by side.
Thanks. That will be a good work around.
This is interesting and can be very useful!

Here is a question regarding this?
Does one of the browsers have to be the stock browser to get it to split screen?
Also if you have a the note app open and some other app that supports split, then you open chrome and firefox in separate windows, can you make one of those windows go on one side of the screen and the other window on the other side?
I am work and my note is waiting for me at home, so after work I will have it.

The split screen will only work with the Samsung apps that have been designed to work in split screen mode, the stock browser is the one that Samsung have enabled which means the chrome browser unfortunately will not work in this way. The pop up browser works similar to the pop up video player where it runs on top of all other apps.
I hope the dev team will have a work around with this.
The split screen will be very powerful will two browsers opened at once, and trading tool platform.

ya i know that it works only with samsung apps, but I am still unclear about the 2nd question I asked. Let's I say have the note app and the stock browser open one on each split screen. Can I then open up another browser on top of it via a window on each side of the split?

Unless its how I have demonstrated it on my screenshot then at present the answer is no, a developer or Samsung's developers may incorporate it in the future.

Cool so technically you could have 2 different browser open on different sides of the split screen as long as you have 2 apps that support split screen open

Yep exactly, in fact this is how I had it but wanted to show that you can have a third app so I made the pop up browser smaller .
Split Browser
Great discussion!
Both Note 10.1 tablet and Note 2 phone, which support split screen don't allow you to open the same browser app on either sides. You can open the stock browser in one side and Chrome on the other side. However you won't be able to open links from one app into the other half or share bookmarks... etc. They will function as two separate apps.
At Appestry we developed Split Browser to overcome these issues. Here are some of its unique features:
Open links and bookmarks from one half into the other half and/or in a new tab.
Resize the two browser halves by dragging the yellow divider line (just like in Note)
Watch videos in full view within each half.
Start new tabs and switch them between the two halves.
Copy the current page over to the other half.
Press and hold back/forward arrows to view history and jump to a page in the list.
... and a whole lot more.
Search for "Split Browser" in Google Play. There is a 5 minute trial version and a paid full version.
Hope y'all find it useful. Please contact us if you have any questions or feedback for improvements!

Thank you for trying it out. I agree, 5 minutes fly fast. However, you can reopen the app as many times you as want and continue to evaluate other features. We want users to make sure all the features work in their device before they upgrade. Please let us know if there is a particular feature you'd like to see in the app. We're working on adding more new features so stay tuned.
I love my Samsung Note II, way faster than my Note 1. Can't wait to test on the new S4. We're working to add Split Browser to the suite of Samsung's split screen apps.
Cheers!
I have 4 different web browsers installed in my GN10.
And I use Multi Window Manager too.
I can open all 4 browsers at the same time
Wearable Widgets (beta) for Gear 2 is just out on the Samsung store. You can now use any mobile widget to show up on Gear 2 screen. The feature is really great and you can also control the widget from gear 2 like pass touch inputs to phone.
I have enabled zooper widget and use it to show time and weather and call tasker objects.
It is a bliss on Gear 2
Check it out.

Awesome
This is a GREAT app!
Awesome app! One of the most useful apps available. Thanks!
SUPER ! ..Can I just add one widget?
Awesome. I installed it immediately. Off course for Tasker. I use Launch-X widget in which i create the shortcuts. But i find it to slow, especially when the phone is off.
I also used it to display my tasks, so i could read and fill in the items into another task app. Of the first section it was perfect. But when the screen of the watch is off and turned on again, the widget is reset for the first items. Not to the last scrolled position.
You can add only one widget per device..
I use zooper to add only my functions as a single widget.. Calendar, time , date , battery life and tasker icons

If you read the first post, you'd know the dev of this app isn't the OP. To answer your question though, the dev left this on G+
"Clarification for Gear 1 & 2 owners: Currently, the Wearable Widgets app has two editions, both with a significant limitation:*
• The one available through Google Play (including this beta group) does not support Gear 1 & 2 devices.
• The one you can download through Samsung's app store (including via the Gear Manager app) only supports a single widget at a time.
The reasons for this are complicated, but are generally due to a number of restrictions that Samsung has put in place. We are working to develop a solution to both of these issues, and will release it as soon as we can - but for now, this is how things stand, I'm afraid.
Thank you for your understanding, and your patience."

Just change the setting for what is shown on wake to last app / screen.
That means I need to go to the wearable widgets app continually before I am 'done' doing whatever I'm doing
The developer has indicated they are working on the ability to make this a watch face. I am looking forward to that update.

This just rocked my world... I don't know why I didn't think of that. Duh. Thank you.
Thank You
That's great, Thank You.
As I've been using it - I actually don't mind having it not be the main watchface. What I've done instead is make it accessible from one of the 9 shortcuts from the Multi-Watch "swipe-up" launcher panel. That way I can still have the customizable watchfaces of multi-watch, but when I want I can launch an info panel widget that has time, date, watch battery level, currently connected wifi SSID, current weather w/ 5-day forecast AND my next 3 calendar appointments. Using a customized Zooper widget for this. I've made a request to Zooper to allow adding Google tasks list items and the phone's volume state to a widget.
Hey what's up guys. I saw today that android wear has a way to pay for your drinks at Starbucks with your watch. I was seeing if we have any good devs out here that can make this possible for our gear 2?
I can't find any app that I can use a widget with wearable Widgets so that's out of the question :c....
Anybody?
Edit: I've found a solution.
Open your Starbucks card in the Coffee Card app found in the play store. (has a little android holding a cup)
Screen shot the barcode, crop it to just show the barcode.
Then using wearable Widgets app for Gear 2, select picture frame widget and select your cropped bar code. Now you can scan that at the checkout :good: ?
Yes, someone figured out the screenshot the barcode trick quite a while ago, but I never tried using Wearable Widgets to show it. Seemed faster for me to just open the gallery app as I made the barcode the very first pic. Wearable Widgets always had a bit of lag to get to my widgets so I save that for other items.

Yes I see that they added some improvements recently. The problem is the more widgets you add for it to sync, the more lag and overhead is introduced. I'd rather reserve that for the dashboard widget I made and my home automation widgets. That way there's less taps/swipes to get to my starbucks code - as right now it takes me a swipe and 2 quick taps to show the code and with my Wearable Widgets setup, it would take me a swipe and 3 at the minimum.

I have mine set as a 3rd widget on my watch. I have the wearable Widgets clock face. So I have the cLock widget as my watch face, a calendar on the second and my code on the 3rd.
So I turn on the watch and tap it twice to get to mine.
I'm hoping the development can port over the feature he has for Android wear, where you just tap the side of the watch instead of touching the screen to change the widget.

This thread is pretty old, but based on another thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/gear-s3/tried-starbucks-app-t3669596 this is still an issue for Samsung Gear/Galaxy watches. There is a starbucks app now for Samsung - see the thread above.
What concerns me is that it took 4 years for an app!?! I'm wondering how small the Samsung market share must be when major brands don't even bother release an app for Samsung. (Android + Apple have had this a long time).
Since Tizen is Linux based, maybe someone will add a compatibility layer to allow Wear apps to run on Tizen. They will be slower, but at least there will be useful apps
It's been a while but here is another app I would like to share with those still using the Note 3 like me while waiting for the Note 6 perhaps.
Screen Off Memo is a feature I like on the Note 5 and so I decided to make one for my Note 3. I have not held a Note 5 yet so I don't know how the screen off memo works except what I saw on video reviews so the app may not be as perfect but it works for what I need it for. Any feedback would be welcome.
UPDATE - 21 Sept 2015
- fixed some issues with spen detachment starting the app even when unlocked
- toned the brightness of the icons as well as the pen strokes to reduce glare and offer more readability
- fixed issue with pen thickness in the v1.2 (some users like it thicker - I might include some settings to set user prefs in the future)
- adding new notes will trigger separate notification
Hopefully the issue specially on the Note 4/Edge has been solved.
Screen Off Memo version 1.3 can be downloaded below.
Install and RUN at least once from the app drawer so the app will be registered for the broadcast action when spen is detached. To enable the app to lock the screen when spen is attached, you must activate/enable it in Settings>Security>Device Administrator.
Based on user feedback I have retained the simplicity of the app. Just added ability to add new memo. Changed some icons for simpler ones. Cleaned up the code a bit to make it run faster and as little footprint as possible. Added option to turn off screen when pen is attached. And of course, it would now run on most Note devices (API 19 & above).
The app would also run on other Galaxy devices without spen but only when launched from the app drawer. But I am trying to find a way to trigger on the lockscreen maybe via a floating button but still a work in progress. I may work on it if there is demand but otherwise might just focus on the Note series.
At the moment I am testing an immersive mode version where no virtual buttons on the screen... just a whole screen of black space to doodle on and using sensors to toggle pen and eraser or the toolbar. Still a work in progress though but we'll see....
Anyway have fun and still your suggestions are welcome. But please keep the thread on topic.
It is a free app but please don't redistribute it nor modify it for redistribution. I don't mind if you include it in a ROM as long as the info page is intact.
Credits: BIG THANKS to @and2, @swiss420 and some others I don't know their xda usernames for their support.
Installed it on my note 3 but it just crashes when tried to open app.
If you're trying to make it work like note 5 then it should work when you pull your s-pen out while the screen is off.
And you can start writing on the screen and save it to memo app or note app.
Tried this app but it didn't work will wait to try it out if updated to new version. I don't know how to give you crash log. Sorry.

I think the Screen Off Memo of the Note 5 does not actually mean the screen is off. It is ON but samsung designed the screen off memo app to run before the lockscreen shows up and on exit turns the screen off at the same time. We get the impression that it is off because of the black theme used which is true black on amoled screens. Samsung can do this because it can tweak framework/system code the way it likes and since it is a system app it has almost all the system level permissions to control the device lockscreen. My Screen Off Memo app does not have the system level access to control lockscreen waking up or turning off so to answer your question, NO I don't think it is possible for the app to run with screen actually off.
I also made a clone of the Note 5 Air Command with more shortcuts but I am still polishing it. Will share when I am satisfied with it.
In case you get the Note Edge, I made some edge panel apps that I have not released yet. Just let me know and I will send them to you.

Well saving and opening it directly in Snote app is possible. I am not sure how many users would want the app to behave that way but depending on the number of feedback then I might do it that way in the next update.

Hi All,
I love pixel 2, I can't figure out when PIP works with Oreo, and it doesn't.
I come from Samsung GS6 world, and as much as I hated how out dated it was, PiP worked with EVERY app. all I had to do was swipe the display from corner, and it would make the app overlay. I could resize the overlay how ever I want.
I was surprised pixel 2 didn't have that feature as I always thought it was google feature, and not samsung's.
Are there anyway to make PiP for Oreo and make it work for every single app?
You can only allow it for the apps that show up here.
Settings>apps and notifications>advanced>special apps access>picture in picture
App developers need to add the ability to do pip to the app to have it show up in this list.

On Samsung you invoke it by swiping diagonally, almost like you're changing the window size, and this worked with every single app including plex. I hate how it doesn't work on this phone.
