New to android & I decided to go for the HTC A9. Phone works well and smoothly running android 7.0. But there's a problem with the display. Diffficult to tell if the problem is a sticker behind the display or an image on the display itself. Will try to include pictures to show the problem.
Thanks in advance for any fixes or suggestions
Is this a new phone or used phone? The issue sounds like a screen burn-in?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_burn-in
It's a new phone. Received it a couple of days ago. Everything seemed to work fine until i looked closely and began to notice the marshmallow style on screen buttons and two very faint messages on the screen that read "HTC One A9" " tell me more"

I'm a new convert to the Touch Pro from the Universal. So new, in fact, I'm not allowed to have it until Christmas!
However, I took delivery of my HTC (i.e. non-branded) Touch Pro yesterday, and was allowed to charge it up/switch it on to check that it was ok. While playing with it, just the once, the screen kinda faded out and went a dark blue-black colour. Similar to when you see an LCD screen that's had the power taken from it.
It all came back as normal when I switched off and on again.
I'm wondering whether this might just be a software problem, and a new ROM will sort it, whether it's a hardware problem that I'll need to get RMA'd, or whether it's just one of those unlucky one-off problems that you sometimes get. It's not something daft like I did a swipe that turmed on a key lock or something, is it?
I'd say it worked fine after the initial setup procedure for about 10 minutes until I swiped and it went black, and then didn't show a problem for the other 20 minutes I played with it for.
Cheers,
Steve.
So I searched everywhere and can not find ANYTHING on such an issue...
A little history on my phone, previously cracked the digitizer but replaced it with no issues (except for a minor cosmetic scratch on lcd, barely noticeable) about 3 months ago, has run fine since then, never any issues
I am running ICS under HD sensation rom, never any issues
I occasionally had some touch screen unresponsiveness, but a quick turn off and on of screen would fix this, a pretty common issue for this phone
The Issue:
today for some odd reason my phone screen would turn on and would be just random pixels of varying color, not correlating to lock screen at all, a reset of the phone did nothing for this, but strangely enough pressing very slightly across the whole front of the screen would return it to normal, if a bit briefly, so i concluded that a wire connecting the screen had come loose, or there was dust inside the phone, so i took it apart and made sure everything was a-ok, which it was, but after putting it back together the same issue persists, and has in fact gotten progressively worse throughout the day, it is now to the point of being unusable, has anyone experienced anything similar, or does anyone have any solutions? i would rather avoid a new phone if possible...
AnyOne??
I'm also having the same problem with my HTC Sensation and tried the master reset and inserting a new SD Card. Did you figured out what was causing the problem? I appreciate any info.

Was at about 30% battery and the screen froze as in it wouldn't take any touch events. The backlight would react as if the screen wasn't touched. It seems like the touch events just were not registering but the phone worked in the background. Kernel issue maybe? I have been using faux.
Something similar ....
I had a similar experience on the 15th .... took my N5 off the Qi charger and the screen froze when i tried to unlock it.
I hit the power button and was able to unlock and get a few touches in before it froze again.
I was finally able (after much screen off/on cycles) to get down to the developer options and turn on show touches & show cpu usage.
... background processes looked fairly normal when the screen was frozen(touches showed as frozen) ...
I was rooted, stock rom except for xda user Jishnu Sur's N5 camera mod and running a couple tried & true root apps(Stickmount & QuickBoot). Thought some software issue might be jamming up the digitizer i/o causing it to freeze.
Reverted entirely to stock (the Team Win recovery was also experiencing screen freeze - buttons worked fine) including removing TRWP and re-locking the boot loader!!
The screen freezing problem persists ... my conclusion is that it's a hardware issue. :crying:
It's possible you are seeing the same thing, but I haven't seen anything in the forums to indicate it's a widespread problem.
Returning it for a replacement phone ... :fingers-crossed:
Hi,
same problem here from France.
I already returned a Nexus 5, after multiple freeze I tried to format data partition via bootloader, (no rooted phone, following google instructions for stock reset) then the phone crash wile formatting, it never wake up gain.
When I get a new one from google after one or two week same problem appears, and it's append more and more often, since monday my phone crash one time more every night, and all the day today.
A this time I'm still trying to load it sine I came back from work seven hour ago, battery still at 49%.
I think it's and hardware issue too.
I'm very disappointed about Google and I'll never by anymore LG products.
Thanks for reading.

Freezes tend to happen on custom kernels specially if you under-volt it too much. have you done that?

Last week I had the same problem with my new NEXUS 5. IT’S TOTALLY A HARDWARE ISSUE.
LG products are however not so bad in the JAPAN market but still we are expecting a lot from LG technology.
LG services suck.
I am facing the same problem with my Nexus 5. Unrooted, bought 7 months back from India itself, was working fine till around two weeks back, when the lags, screen freeze, blacking out n all appeared. Got it repaired twice at the LG centre. They changed the front display touchpad as well as the charging connector strip. The problem still persists.
I bought an xperia z3 around a week ago. 2 days after the purchase I started to use it and it immediately had problems. I experienced the following:
1, the screen sometimes "collapses", meaning that the entire screen is shows small colourful dots, like purple, green, grey etc. They are very similar to the ones on TV when you dont find a channel and its all covered with black and white dots, but on the phone they have different colours.
2, The screen flashed when running certain applications.
I took it to the retailer to get it fixed. They said it was a software problem, so they uploaded the android software to it again . This later problem, the flashing screen seems to be fixed, but the earlier, "screen collapse" still occurs.
The retailer said if it's a hardware problem they will give me a totally new Z3. However, I don't know how to show them the "screen collapse" problem because it only occurs when it wants and I cant call it on my own. What's your suggestion?
I would be persistent if I were you in demanding a replacement device. Remember you're the customer!!!
That's about all I can tell you.
Good luck

Hey all,
I bought a thl 5000 in March last year and it has been working perfectly until 3 days ago. Half of the screen gets darker than the other half every so often. So far I've tried changing brightness and turning on and off. Sometimes it goes back to normal, other times doesn't - it stays the same with the left side of the screen darker than the right side. I looked for a similar thread here but couldn't find any on this particular phone. I have however found a video that shows exactly what it's happening to my screen so it might help you guys see what I mean but I cannot post it here as I'd need to post 10 posts/replies before I'm able to. To see it,please go to YouTube.com - search "thl 5000 - screen problem"
There's a comment of a guy on that video that gives a tip to avoid this problem. However it doesn't look like a fix because it sounds as if I have to keep the same brightness all the time.
I haven't rooted my phone. It's android 4.4.2 version, kernel version 3.4.67. If that is of any use.
I'd like my phone to work 100% like before since I've paid for it. Any help would be great!
Thank you
