Tablet switching off randomly. - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently my Shield Tablet, original not k1, has taken to switching off randomly. There is no pattern to when it does, can be partially charged or fully charged or with any app running. I am running Lineage official. Basically I will be using the tablet and I hear a little click and the tablet powers off. Any help would be welcome, thanks.

Custom ROM that could be a lot.
Maybe a battery issue.
Did you try a factory reset?

Perhaps a faulty SD card.

I'll remove the card and see what happens

Removed card, rebooted, and had the same problem within seconds so not the card.

Won't work it reboots as soon as it starts on stock

I had the same problem once...
do you have TWRP?
what temperature it shows in twrp?
for me it was a wire from the battery that I had to solder on the right place again..

Yeah that is stopping me using stock as it reports a temp of 100,000,000 c! Had always worked fine with lineage/Cyanogen until recently and random reboots started

if battery low and cant flash use this =)

ok guys first sry for the bad english i try my best
if you have a broken android system on your device and cant flash a recovery/rom because your battery is to low...... use this here
1. download laden.rar
2. extract the file laden.bat
3. copy the file laden.bat in your fastboot folder ( e.g c:\Android\) and you need the newest sdk-tool
4. boot your phone in bootloader and take fastboot usb ( power+vol-)
5. double click on laden.bat
6. now you battery will be load
7. maybe you must wait few hours you need ~3900mV for flash recovery
you need a unlocked bootloader
What is this?
Sent from my HTC One XL using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
I usually just charge up if I'm low before or during a flash
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
This reminds of the time i shot a racoon dead center mass with my 300 win mag leaving a hole one could plainly see through in that little punk... Also, its creepy how human like racoon paws are...

Actually you can with twrp.. I just has to reflash yesterday and I booted to recovery plugged in at 12% battery, waited for + to appear by charge percentage. And wiped and reflashed. No problem. Granted I wouldnt have tried without access to a charger to keep power to it.

Yeah I've flashed TWRP with 11% battery before.
But I'd like to know exactly what this utility is supposed to do please??

by the continual reboot the battery becomes charged
this himself is but only a short moment open repeats it because of this always
try it fun you will see it but you need a few hours
This is super sketch. Definitely wouldn't recommend anyone use it.
Not to mention most people should be using twrp anyways.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
It doesn't trick anything so much as essentially give you a sort of... running meter? of how much charge you have, then resets it to gain a bit more trickle. Seems like a stupidly slow way to get trickle charge, but if for some reason you've decided to use a recovery or similar that won't let you charge while its running, then this should net you a very slow charge. As mentioned though by pretty much everyone, TWRP renders this as unnecessary, as it can charge while doing whatever in recovery.

recovery: CWM
with me this was thus after a flash process I remained in bootscreen hang... mobile phone restarts repeatedly if I it switches off
so I wanted to go in recovery, however, points only briefly bootscrren in from cwm and restarts directly
for flashen new recovery was battery to low said at least bootloader and hit also every time is absent with try it to flashen
in bootscreen and in bootloader one cannot load the mobile phone
and with this programme this has clapped could charge so far I was able flash
however, lasts long

It seems to be a issue in the 4.2.2 stock firmware. Makes me sometime the same. I don't think it's case related.

1.) 4.2.2 is not as smooth as the 4.1.2...at least for me.
2.) 4.2.2 has buggy gyro software. I use phone for ar drone so I need accuracy.
3.) home button for car mode works differently in 4.2.2... I prefer how mine works now.

Yup...
Dont get me wrong, it did help a bit right after fully wiping it though...but still not as fluid as the 4.1.2.
Mind you, I might have to go back to 4.2.2 soon though... I just got myself a 64gb sdcard and from what I read, only 4.2.2 supports them fully.

Also there seems to issues with some memory cards and the xperia z not working correctly. Like crashing and lag. U might should check if ur Xperia Z runs well without the memory card in it. Mine works well but not for everyone does it. If it is the memory card a fully reformatting of the memory will im most cases solve the issue.

Yes and it can be that u had apps on 4.1.2 that worked and now after 4.2.2 not anymore and makes ur phone crash. It was already discussed in other forums here. Or try running it without ur sd card and see if it works or after a factory reset.

constant random reboots

After one year with this phone I am starting having problems with it. The phone is almost constantly rebooting. Usually it reboots itself a few times in a middle of the loading screen.
I've changed multiple roms, wiped everything, the problem is still here. Same thing is if i reboot into safe mode. Random restarts, upgrading apps and so on.
Latest twrp.
Any idea ?

[q] really bad lag

Hi, i have had my nexus 5 for about 1 year now. Over that last few months i have been experiencing really bad slow downs and lags for no apparent reason. This can happen randomly when doing certain tasks such as turning on my phones wifi or when there is low battery, or unplugging my device from the mains. This problem persisted in stock lollipop and in the cyanogen mod 12.1 nighties (which i am currently on). I do not remember having this issue in kitkat... When my device lags, i have to wait anywhere from 15 secs to 5 mins before it returns back to normal. i have tried factory resetting but this does not help... please help
