Hi, i have had my nexus 5 for about 1 year now. Over that last few months i have been experiencing really bad slow downs and lags for no apparent reason. This can happen randomly when doing certain tasks such as turning on my phones wifi or when there is low battery, or unplugging my device from the mains. This problem persisted in stock lollipop and in the cyanogen mod 12.1 nighties (which i am currently on). I do not remember having this issue in kitkat... When my device lags, i have to wait anywhere from 15 secs to 5 mins before it returns back to normal. i have tried factory resetting but this does not help... please help
Anyone got a soluiton- still have this problem!

Instead of erasing partitions when flashing the factory img, format them.

Thanks for the reply...but what do you mean format the factory.IMG? I flashed via twep, and clear portions every time. I booted into twep and cleared the dalvick and cache but the problem persists!
Thanks

For some reason after i installed the ROM Paranoid Android for my Nexus S and replaced it with Cyanogenmod 10.1, all the hardware buttons stopped working! I do no however that they are not dead because i can still use them in my recovery and in other places, just not on Cyanogenmod. Here is something even more strange, sometimes when the OS starts up the buttons kind of work for a couple of seconds. However, they slow down the OS a huge amount to where i think it froze. But then after some seconds i get taken to the lock screen, and the buttons don't work again. Any help is much appreciated!

By the way, might you know of any places i could get a zip of Jelly Bean 4.1.1 instead of Gingerbread for the Nexus S.

I'm using TWRP with no other mods or tweaks. But, what is clean/dirty flashing?

Dalvik, cache and data.. On twrp.. Everything except sd... is a full wipe/clean.. Go back to stock using Nexus root tool kit and start over, remember to flash in your recovery again as it will erase it.. Your sd should be fine.. BACK UP YOUR DATA FIRST (apps/other will be lost)
I'll get back to you if it works or not. Thanks!
Well after 3/4 of a day I have had no problems yet so I guess it's fixed! :victory: If something occurs i will tell you, but until then, thanks for all your help!
Anyone else having issues with swiftkey staying at default? I know there was an issue when you reboot the phone, the keyboard would reset but, it happens when the screen is off or the phone goes into deep sleep.
Was wondering if anyone knows of a fix??

Sorry cannot reproduce. Been using swift key every since i got the phone and not had any problems keeping it as a default, even after rebooting.
That happened to me on KK as well as JB. I simply disable the stock keyboard in Settings.

That's weird... You think GravityBox could be causing it? That's the only "modifications" I've made.
I've tried the official release and the new beta release and still have the same problems.

Yep,did everything and no hope, now i realize that the screen starts to flicker a little bit before reboot,i hope that the problem isn't a wireless charger that i bought in amazon and used last two months,do you think will be a problem to RMA?
Thanks

After one year with this phone I am starting having problems with it. The phone is almost constantly rebooting. Usually it reboots itself a few times in a middle of the loading screen.
I've changed multiple roms, wiped everything, the problem is still here. Same thing is if i reboot into safe mode. Random restarts, upgrading apps and so on.
Latest twrp.
Any idea ?
Change your kernel...or have you installed a new app recently?

Could be the power button going faulty like many on here have had

Have you tried a factory reset?
Recently my Shield Tablet, original not k1, has taken to switching off randomly. There is no pattern to when it does, can be partially charged or fully charged or with any app running. I am running Lineage official. Basically I will be using the tablet and I hear a little click and the tablet powers off. Any help would be welcome, thanks.

Custom ROM that could be a lot.
Maybe a battery issue.
Did you try a factory reset?

Perhaps a faulty SD card.
I'll remove the card and see what happens

I had the same problem once...
do you have TWRP?
what temperature it shows in twrp?
for me it was a wire from the battery that I had to solder on the right place again..

Yeah that is stopping me using stock as it reports a temp of 100,000,000 c! Had always worked fine with lineage/Cyanogen until recently and random reboots started

post #15 this was my solution for that Problem.
maybe you have 2 broken wires after all that time? maybe it could help if you start up with charger connected?
