You can flash without using the re-partition option. That is usually used when flashing the PIT file along with the firmware.

Yes, you can upgrade but you shouldn't need the PIT, the PIT is only used when one or more of your partitions are corrupted. Flashing PIT repairs your partition structure.

You can use terminal emulator or adb to pull a copy of your PIT file directly from the device.

Why can't you at least TRY finding something yourself. I will not do all the searching for you. I told you what you need and you know what your device is so do some searching to find how to pull PIT from your model number.
If the device is that important to you then you should be willing to do what it takes to learn.
@[email protected], read my updated info. I'm trying to help, but you need to understand that helping you does not mean doing all the hard work for you. I'm trying to teach you how to find what you need and how to search for the right thing, I'm not just trying to help you fix your device the way you want. If you're going to play around with your device then the most important thing to learn is how to find the correct information for what you need.
Try doing some searches like the example below.
"How to (whatever you want/need to know)"
"What is (whatever you want/need to know)"
"(Whatever you are looking for or want to know)"
I did a simple Google search for:
"How to extract PIT from Galaxy S3"
This was the first link in results:
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-extract-pit-file-from-samsung-galaxy-devices/
That search took me 20 seconds to find. How hard was that?

Thank you! Ill try it but is it confirmed it works on hard brick?
Judging by what you did and said I would say take a couple steps back, do a few searches, read a few threads, then try to fix things. Reading that whole thread that theROMinator linked you and following the steps to a T would have saved you bricking your phone. And learning to read things like that in the future will likely save you a lot of future headaches and expenses.
Thnx

In Odin, make sure you don't have "Re-Partition" checked. Having that checked means Odin can only flash the firmware if you include a PIT file partition

[Completed] Possibly Softbricked Zenfone 2 after CyanogenMod 12.1 install

Hello everyone! I have an issue with my Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML).
I flashed CyanogenMod 12.1 and everything was working fine. That is, until I decided I wanted to go back to stock ROM. That's when everything went wrong.
1) I went into recovery mode (using Power + Volume UP).
2) I wiped cache partition (probably my first mistake)
3) I restored to factory settings (possibly my second mistake)
4) After this I tried to flash the "recovery1.img" of the stock ROM I had.
5 ) That didn't work so I tried using ADB to flash different ".zip" files (all firmware downloaded from Asus website)
When that didn't work either, I abandoned and rebooted the phone. But it doesn't boot anymore.
It is stuck on the Asus screen and nothing happens.
Does anyone know if and how I can get out of this situation?
I must insist on the fact that I am only a novice. Until now I've only ever known iOS and have no knowledge whatsoever of how Android works.
I really hope someone can help me!
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you can find your stock firmware you can use fastboot to restore the firmware via Asus flash tool.
I don't know the specifics of your device.
Try posting your question in the forum linked below.

Hi, thank you for answering.
I downloaded the Flash Tool but it only supports <.RAW> files. I can't find the proper files though, the only ones I can find are for ZF4/5/6... Any ideas on where I could find them ?

Try extracting the .zip, it could be a .RAW file that has been compressed for download, if it is then just unzipping the file should give you the .RAW you need.

You don't need a premium account, use the free download at Sammobile or go to samsung-updates .com and get their free download.
You should just have patience and download it yourself, regardless of what speed the download is, instead of asking someone to download it then upload it then link it here for you, that is quite a bit of time and effort that you can do for yourself. Don't be lazy, don't be spoiled and don't be impatient.

I've never encountered a firmware that is exclusively available to a premium account.
But, regardless, that doesn't matter, that is not the only place to download Samsung firmware.
Such as here:
http://samsung-updates.com/details/117927/Galaxy_S5_Verizon/SM-G900V/VZW/G900VVRU2DQL1.html
You could have found it in many different places if you had ran a Google search for:
"SM-G900V stock firmware"
Those search terms would have given many different links to try.
As I stated, don't be lazy. It is so easy to find that its obvious that you didn't put much thought or effort in finding it for yourself before you came here to ask for it.

The first two mirrors at samsung-updates worked find for me. Disable any adblockers you are using and disable your antivirus, they interfere with downloads, you can enable them again when the download finishes.
But, that is not the only place to get the firmware, you can probably find a faster/easier free download somewhere else.

Yeah no. What you're asking for can theoretically be done but it will require a lot of work reverse engineering the firmware, and by a lot I really mean it. Firmware is almost never open source so you won't find the source code anywhere.
What are you trying to do specifically?
