It is possible to reset the CSC, you must install this version, and then without any CSC file.

Step 8: Choose the right file for each Option AP only from the files you extract after downloading. Then press Start and wait the PASS (15-20 minutes)

Are you saying if I install this version without CSC file that it will create*a new CSC? Also, what do you mean by "Limited Functionality"?*Does the watch not function the same after loading this*firmware? Can I install Samsung Pay if I install this?

Samsung Pay preinstalled in each version, in addition to this course.
CSC region is determined by the watch on the MNC code that is connected to the phone at the time of initialization.
Put USA or Singapore SIM + VPN + Fake GPS does not bring any results.

So flash this on a korean import and initialize it with a phone on Singapore network will update the CSC and enable Spay?

rootfs.img contains su in bin folder:
/bin/su
So it is rooted. :good:
This Firmware is very interesting also for Mobile Z-series...
Like SM-Z130H, Z3, Z2 etc...
As Combination Files are most not free available...
I have not much Gear expirience nor Gear Watch in my Hands...
So no idea if allready Root solution exists... for Gear S3
Rooting for Z-series was very easy... valid su file/binary inject into rootfs.img...

@se47 who gave you this. Its an internal build. Anyways good job with the availability, hope you don't get shackled for this. When you talk about @locks which locks are you referring to hardware side or the software side.

But most they are not for free available...
Gear series Firmware is generally rare leaked...

i just checked my archived files, I had this firmware but wasnt allowed to post until leaked. As mentioned above its a good alternative to who ever is looking into rooting the device and installing android 2.0 .

Do you mean it would be possible to install Android Wear 2.0?
I am not sure to understand the meaning of 'Combination Firmware'

As the firmware is already rooted its possible to run elevates commands and install custom recovery.

I don't know much about rom development so please don't mind my ignorance but wouldn't we need an android wear kernel for Exynos 7270 to run it on gear s3?

In your previous post you sounded like rooting is enough to get AW installed so I thought I should ask. I was hoping you would say no tho. I really would like to see android on this watch. Seems it's not gonna happen soon.

Porting android is not hard if we have the right tools and the right information. Having root just opens up the possibilty for the developers to port. As you can see in the other forums the devs are working on getting a root on APK7 firmware, if succesful we can then look at other possibilities of installing a custom recovery or porting it from previous gear builds. Hope this helps.

Has anyone flashed this? If it truly is rooted then we can start building custom recovery/boot images. If someone else can confirm for me that this works I will test it out as well...

I'm really really thankfully our kind member: adfree who helped me yesterday to unbrick my watch, which had no wifi enabled, so I was totally desperate I lost 300 pounds. So as a thanks I'd like to give back some for this community. I bought the newest ROM, I'd like to share it with you guys.
I share the R770XXU2BQC5 with you.

... i found info how to get my S3 back to live again. If you have the same problems with your (bricked) S3 then go to download wirelessly mode en as soon as you see the flower then push the power button 2 seconds en let it go for 1 second, than push it again for 2 seconds en let it go for one and so on til you get him in to download wirelessly mode. May take some attempts but it saves my ass a few times.

Success!! R770X changed to R770 with BQC5 firmware!
I can confirm that BQC5 firmware works on my R770X! I now have a fully functioning Gear S3 Classic and it now states R770 with no X at the end. After all the files loaded on NetOdin the watch restarted with French being the only language. Luckily I do Read\Hear\Write it so I went through the process of connecting the gear through the Gear Manager on my S7 Edge and it connected perfectly and then it changed the language to English!
Upon my web search I noticed that the stores where using S7 Edge's to install the Retail Mode app on the watches so I figured that they were retail watches and that meant it was installing\changing the firmware with an X at the end only to differentiate and grab the correct OTA updates. It made sense because when I temporarily disabled Retail Mode within the app itself all the antennas worked (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Location and NFC) so I knew I had a chance that a stock firmware might work.
I hope this helps out anyone else in my situation. I followed the post with the BQC5 and used those files to accomplish this.
Thank you adfree for all your great help. And also xedamen for your tutorial post. Without both your help & guidance I would have stared at a very expensive watch show me the wrong time.

What is the country origin of this ROM?
I have the same ROM version installed on my watch and wonder if reflashing could help with SPay (watch was purchased in a country where SPay in not supported) by changing CSC.

Firmware package for OXA region contains more then 1 CSC/Country/Sales Code....
Simple download Firmware and extract files with 7Zip from CSC.

But it is not really easy nor very safe...
You need ROOT access... and at the moment only Combination Firmware offer this...

I have my own experience only with SM-R732... and some feedback with SM-R760...

I wonder why it doesn't work after reflashing new rom and csc. I understand that OXA is multi region, but wouldn't it work after reflashing non-OXA CSC/rom and back...

If you unpack Firmware and concentrate your eyes on csc.img... use 7Zip for extraction...
Then you can see several folders...
Example DBT for instance...

If this text string aka Sales Code is written into your Gear... then device is AUTOMATIC configured for DBT...

Rookie question, CSC file is zipped, then md5, then img.
If I edit one of the files in .img, how do I pack it back to iso and then to md5?
Also can I flash it to the watch without root, knox change etc.?
In preset folder there is nothing than language preset.
MPS folder has some customer settings which are more interesting.

You can "ignore" MD5... this is only for selfcheck... to prevent damage TAR file...

csc.img is an Image of an Linux partition...
Extraction is easier as create valid csc.img with Windows...
Better under Linux mount blabla...

I bought my Samsung Gear S3 on Amazon in the UK a few months back. Everything works fine, except Samsung Pay. When I try to add a card it says card not supported and when I look at what cards are supported it shows me loads of bank cards from the UAE ?
If I open the Samsing Pay app directly on my S8, it is clearly set to UK and I can add cards there fine but they don't show on my Gear S3. I did manage to get an MBNA Visa on there somehow, but it won't recognise Amex which I can add on the phone.
Any ideas?

Yes I have same problem bought at eBay but find out latter they are UAE probably someone bought there for low price and now we have problem with Samsung Pay on G3

Samsung BLOCK/disabled such Codes in Retail Firmware.
This is why you need FIRST flash Combination Firmware BQC2...
Here you can smple insert such Codes... BUT you need CSC from Retail Firmware...
CSC from Combination Firmware is empty....
After you have successfully changed XSG to BTU...
Flash ALL 3 parts from BQC5
BQC5 is valid Firmware for BTU Sales Code...
BUT not mix BQH1 and BQC5 if you want FOTA...
Start simple with Factory/Combinatation Firmware BQC2...
If success, you will see the difference.

First step is complete wrong.
You start with Combination Firmware BQC2 from here:

This 1 single package...
If Combination Firmware successfully flashed... you will see yellow letters... it looks complete different as normal Firmware.
You can enter this Code... but CSC is empty...
So next step is to flash CSC from BQC5...
Maybe if you brave enough... start with step 1.
Combination Firmware BQC2
Then we can proceed...
I will try to help you...

Fail to hard and softreset

Hello everyone
I have problem with my gear S2 info says that is sm-r720 with soft r720xxu2eqj2
My smartwatch suddenly starts to drain the battery (about 2-4 hours after full charge) ordinary restart didn't help, also i can't uninstall watchfaces, they return after a restarts. When I tried to perform a soft reset, I take a while and after a reboot look like nothing happens, all watch faces, apps remain. Its also paired to my smartphone. So i tryied hard reset too, restart when i see title "restarting" i clicked until i see "Select BOOT MODE" i choosing "recovery" and hold power button for a couple of seconds, and watch boots normally. So there is any other way to fix power drain? I thinking about re-flashing gear but I don't know where I can find suitable soft? I know there is many subversions of gear S2 I don't want to make things worst by flashing with wrong software.

The symptoms look the same I bet that samsung released flawed update, that affecting some gears.
I have typed code and watch says:
Log file is created /opt/user/media/SLP_debug
How to get log out of gear 2? I have googling with no luck...

I installed two paid file managers, none of them was able to locate and send log file.
I think the only way is to flash with new ROM, could you point a proper ROM software?

User 1 with Gear S2... and he allready tried flashing more then 1 Firmware without success...
And SM-R760 has write protected Bootloader...
Maybe better to have Log files... before waste time with same result...
Btw... risk to render your Gear S2 useless... if really something happens to Security... or eMMC damaged...

I flashed with new firmware and... nothing happened. When Odin finished uploading new ROM, (all 3 files), gear restart.. with no change.
I assume that new ROM should be installed. I repeat procedure twice for make sure, with no luck. I think the only way to fix it is to replace the mainboard, as could be more expensive than a new watch.

Searching for user data stored on the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier

Hello guys,
I'm searching for the GPS coordinates (location where the smartwatch has been) and where I can find the heart rate numbers with timestamp from the user.
I'm also interested in local stored user messages, agenda and information about the smartphone that was connected.
I pulled all the data from my smartwatch using Tizen Studio "Device Manager" and got all the folders on my computer. I searched all day but I only found my pictures and music.
Hope you guys can help me with my little school project.

I'm following a forensic course (school) and when your doing an investigation, you don't always find a smartphone and a smartwatch together. The suspect can hide the phone during an investigation or someone got killed and the smartphone is gone, but the victim is wearing a watch (just examples).
I'm trying to find out how much user information I can get from the smartwatch. I know that most of the important data is on the smartphone, but there must be something on the smartwatch.

I have the model SM-R760, with the Tizen version 3.0.0.2 (no LTE). The folders that I pulled are combined 1.22GB in size. I had to pull every folder individual because of an error that I get from pulling them all together with Tizen Studio.
So the databases for heart-rate and geolocation are encrypted (also with root) and that's the reason why I cannot find them? What I have found are my pictures and music files.
My last option is to do a chip-off.

I will check if SDB can find it... but as I told... it is dumped with Tool RDX (Rumdump Extractor)...

Yeah I see that the Tool RDX (Rumdump Extractor) is only working for the LTE version.
