Hi guys,
Is call recording possible on HTC Sensation?
Could you test please:
- Totall Recall
- CallRecorder (DSoft)
and tell me about quality of recording from both sides?
Cheers

I'm also curious on this as call recording is essential to me and I own Total Recall on Symbian (Nokia E72) and would not move to an Android device that does not fully support it (or anything with similar features, but I know of no alternatives at the time).
Asking the developer would be a good idea, but then again, maybe some of you need to... erhm.... recall some calls...

I got callrecorder on dhd and works perfectly. But my dhd is rooted. Don't know if something change in functionality.
Call recorder widget works, but the recordings are pretty quiet.

Callrecorder requires root to fully function properly. This is one of several reasons I'm waiting for the Sensation to be totally opened up.
I have it on my rooted Samsung vibrant and it records perfectly. Mine isn't an app, it is located in the call screen while I am calling.

As I said, to function "properly" it needs root. It obviously functions without root, but not as fully intended.
Results...
Tried Already Total Recall & Call Recorder (DSoft)... (Perma-Temp Rooted HTC Sensation 4G)
Results:
Total Recall -> bit buggy and noisy when recording... (records via mic)
CallRecorder (DSoft) -> clear recording but via mic also... (so... not so loud the "other side" of the conversation)
Nothing even close to CallRecorder (skvalex) on my HTC Inspire 4G...
Nothing new here? any real recording solution?
up ..
this is an essential thing for me ..
anyone found a good recording app for the sensation ??
+ 1
I have tried so many call recording apps but to no avail
All of them are either "speakerphone enabled" or just not recording at all.
I hope after we root our phones we could use a real incall recording.
any news on call recorder now that we have s-off?
I found that when using the hand-free option (or even just the speaker for playing MP3), the sound is crappy. Not sure if related. Are you all happy with the big speaker of the Sensation ?

Nowhere near as loud as old samsungs or nokias i previously owned.
Anyone managed to port the 2-way call recording patch used on Desire HD? It worked flawlessly on DHD, it would be great to have it on Sensation.
No hope at all?
which apps should do it ? please give me 2 or 3 names, and I will test them this after noon. I have upgraded to latest everything ... maybe they will work now with all updates I have. The ones that used to bug or give crapy sound

There's only one posted by avs333, but it's for Desire HD (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048182&highlight=call+recording)
All other call recording apps failed to work or the recording quality was very poor.
It worked perfectly on DHD and i was hoping to see a patch for Sensation.

Please, tell me which ones. I will test them occasionally, and check for updates.
From market you can try Total Recall by Killer Mobile or AutoCallRecorder by Roman G. but these apps use the mic to record incoming voice, hence the quality is poor.
The only app that works properly is CallRecorder by Skvalex, but it requires a kernel patch (see app description on market), which brings me to my original question:
On Sensation, is it possible to patch the kernel to include the modifications required by this app?
I'm finding myself slightly disappointed in the earphone volume. My g2x seemed to be better in this department. My remedy to use the equalizer app doesn't seem to work either..at least not to boost the volume.
I believe that app doesn't work because HTC has some type of sound leveling going on, because when I reset the equalizer app back to normal levels, the.volume lowers, them it raises again by itself.
I need to find a way to disable whatever they have going on...

Are you referring to the volume during a phone call or while playing music?
Have you tried the "Settings > Call > Hearing aids (HAC)" setting yet?
It dramatically boosts the in-call volume through the phone's ear speaker... I'm not sure of it also works with ear phones though.
I'm referring to music volume through headphones

Did you try using the SRS enhancement?

Thanks for the tip! I'm trying it now.
I'm not hard of hearing (I don't think ) but to me, the standard volume is a bit too low on the Sensation...

it's a free player with eqwilizer and thanks to this player the music sound much beter
yes sensation got lower sound than other htc phone i compared personally with desire and incredible s ...and the hell qhd screen has lots off issues with game and apps...still not all apps working with sensations...and gave back my sensation to the shop today...htc got mad...making phones but still lots of problems and lacking .... they could make sensation with 1ghz and 1gb ram rom....and evo 3d with 8 mp camera..they are really clever somehow...i would say incredible s is better than upcoming some phone...even 1.2 ghz felt slower than single core phones ...huh...sucks somehow
that's tipical for HTC, never get finish any phones, every phone get some probleme....
What is typical on the most recent HTC phones (sensation, g2, nexus one) is a weak max volume. I want it to be like the iPhone...where the max volume is TOO loud and makes one want to turn it down. That way, you have choice. It seems that HTC decides the max volume level that is much lower than others..
And the link to that app u gave me doesn't work..

are you try to instal via market on your phone?
I wont to thold that every phone HTC have the problem, not juste the volume, but data conexion also sucks and if you go around this section you will see the other people have at last one problem witch Sensation... I am not the bad atention, just tell the truth.

I listen to music using poweramp. You can tweak the eq settings, I have a decent set of in ear headphones and I can honestly say that the sound quality is fantastic and very loud. Much better sound quality than my ipod!

If I have one gripe with the sensation it is definately the volume on the speaker and the speaker phone. Phone calls are low. And music volume on the speaker us depressing. Other wise plugging in through headphones or the aux in my car the sound quality is great. Hopefully they can fix some of these issues with a ota. If not I'm sure the developer community will......

Yeah, the loudspeaker is pretty low. You'd think that they'd would put a good one in seeing they are touting the Sensation as a multimedia powerhouse.
yes, sound level is low, bass is terrible
I can confirm that the sound is much worst than with DHD or HD2 (I have all 3)
sound level is much lower, bass is terrible, also with SRS (I use Sennheiser IE8i, a bass powerhouse) the difference with DHD is HUGE
Note that PoverAMP still doesn't support SRS for Sensation so one comment from the "Nokia guy" doesn't count.
Anybody knows why?
Driver or Audio hardware?
I have an issue with my NS4G Sprint phone since I upgraded to CM 9.1 stable from CM 9.0 w/Matr1x 20.0 CFS.
Specifically "MY" voice volume sounds low and is difficult for the OTHER PARTY to hear without concentrating. (Though conversation is fine to other party when I use speaker option)
Anyone able to tell me how and where I can tweak the settings and improve my outbound voice quality?
TIA
Turn off hi fi recording in voodoo controls. The setting may be baked in somewhere in cm too. I'm not sure, but that's normally the cause.

NAILED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Thanx.
hey guys
By any chance is there an app or zip file that can help my sound quality louder ?
when i'm outside and my phone starts ringing i cant hear it and i miss the call....
right now i'm using CM10 Crespo4g ROM
Voodoo sound. You must be rooted to use. DSP is another. Not sure if root is a requirement for DSP
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
so i am using DSPManger but and i'm not sure if i'm doing it right but for the speaker i put everything at max but somehow it still seem the ringtone is the same ?
can u help me how to use it ?
thanks
There's no way to really boost the volume for the Nexus S. You can make it sound louder by playing with the compression but that's about it.
In DSP manager go to speakers and try moving the equalizers up all the way
to boost the speaker sound just download Poweramp and choose the "loud speaker" equalizer, which amplify the medium frequencies. It will sound much better

Hey,
I just reflashed Sky ICS onto my phone, the lastest one, non-dragon and now the in call volume is too low. It is not low to the point where I can't hear, but low enough where I can barely hear in a busy spot. Any fixes for this? Before I was on a older version of Sky ICS and it was fine.
Thanks

Did you flash the audio from one of the threads because the audio mod cause in call volume low. You can look in my SIG and has a link to increase audio thru alsa when I ran sky ICS never had any issue

I followed your link, how do you save the value? I'm not sure if I am saving it or not because the volume isn't increasing.
