hey guys
By any chance is there an app or zip file that can help my sound quality louder ?
when i'm outside and my phone starts ringing i cant hear it and i miss the call....
right now i'm using CM10 Crespo4g ROM
Voodoo sound. You must be rooted to use. DSP is another. Not sure if root is a requirement for DSP

so i am using DSPManger but and i'm not sure if i'm doing it right but for the speaker i put everything at max but somehow it still seem the ringtone is the same ?
can u help me how to use it ?
thanks
There's no way to really boost the volume for the Nexus S. You can make it sound louder by playing with the compression but that's about it.
In DSP manager go to speakers and try moving the equalizers up all the way
to boost the speaker sound just download Poweramp and choose the "loud speaker" equalizer, which amplify the medium frequencies. It will sound much better

I have a none rooted Infuse by AT&T looking at a way to increase the sound. I really liked SWS wow, but for some reason it's not available for Android. I have tried several booster programs but nothing really did anything for it. Would like the internal speaker to sound louder and have bass and mix. Any help would be great, or a point in the right direction. Thanks
I know when we get a working custom kernal hopefully someone can port over voodoo controls but as for the internal speaker if you use sammsungs music player it has a built in equalizer but as making it louder is beyond me

Just a heads up to those who may not know, there is a Beats Audio/xLoud mod/port on the board and it works on the Atrix 2. Beats adds a deeper, cleaner bass and cleans up the mids/highs too. xLoud is a Sony Ericsson thing, it basically boosts the overall volume of ur audio. I just flashed this mod to my phone and holy ****, huge difference! I had to turn all my volumes down media/ringer/alarms. My good cans are packed (moving this weekend) so no testing with them yet but after hearing the difference I just heard with only the phone speaker I'm expecting to be very happy.

Here's the link to the thread for it....make sure to d/l and flash the 3.2.12 one.

where is the xloud .zip file?
Whoa - déjà vu!
xLoud is included in the zip.
Audio volume really is increased overall (I too had to turn everything down) and the beats makes the bass sound sweet!

Yep, very noticeable difference. This one is much better than the first one w/o xLoud.

Maybe its just me, but I can't seem to find a difference in quality using the car dock. Audio goes out the car docks 3.5mm jack to my Volvo s60r's stereo. I was hoping for some more volume.

I flashed the first beats mod without xloud, can I flash the xloud mod over it?

Yes you can, it will just overwrite the one you just installed.

Tried this tweak last week and it's great. My highs have come alive and it sounds much cleaner.
So how does the mod affect the Motorola stock equalizer?
I'm assuming the beats audio is only effective in the My Music app? So do I have to disable the "Effects" in settings to hear the Beats Audio? Or should I switch that to custom?
This work well seems crisper...... Did notice if the bass is overpowering the mids and lows go to sound settings and un-tick enable audio effects..... For me with headphones will set effects enabled effects profile custom surround ambient eq bass punch WOW!!!!!

wait, so, it works by default, and all the additional effects are additional? but my system sounds are not any louder than they were before, which other people seem to be reporting

Mine are....I have had to turn all my volumes down since installing this mod. I haven't done any critical listening since I don't use my phone like that anyway, I was just hoping for louder system sounds and that's exactly what I got. The Beats is just an added bonus.
Ok are we supposed to download the one that says older zip files test301.zip or the allandroidzip.zip that looks to be the newest?

But I hear worse clarity, more bass but... im a musician and so sounds I hear more clearly maybe than most but Idk.... anyways like I said im not trying to be rude.

Yea these are some of the same complaints I've heard about the actual beats headphones because they're made really for more hip hop songs and not a wide range of music the highs are where those headphones usually suffer IMO

Stock ics lg music app with sennheiser cx 160.
No mods other than using dolby mobile.
The frequency response on the s2 is slightly lower than the o3d. Dunno why tho...

Low Freq Response would better bass would it not that was not the Case Dolby Mobile sounds like the music is playing inside a can lol must be the type of genres i play.
The O3D's Hardware is Actually Quite Good the Software side really criples the phone i have seen the It's hardware on other devices and its better on other devices.
Yeah. Only really if i'm listening to dubstep or drum n bass. If listening to rock i have it set to standard with no eq...
The dynamic range of my earphones just give a great sound without any eq...
I prefer listening to clean sounds anyway... just the sound engineer in me.

lol i too prefer clean sound so when i ever i set up my eq i just try to get my headphone to play louder without changing the original sound i use to go hard on the bass but when i got into dubstep im happy in the middle lol when i got the o3d spent like 20min trying to get the perfect sound.
320kbps > Sound Good With No EQ .
You tried FLAC ? never tried
Flac lossless files are great but finding a player is a bit of a pain. I always go for the highest bitrate.
Yeah. I try not to change the eq at any point. Reason being is that if you amplify the eq then it can cause loss of certain subtle parts of sounds

I always use the flat equaliser, hate mucking with the equaliser because you can easily miss details if you do that.
Anyway, I find the O3D's audio DSP quite good (TWL6040 iirc), beats any phone using Realtek (sadly a lot), but Wolfson (SGS3 for example) comes up tops. Wolfson chips produce the best audio imo.

Hey, was wondering if there's a patch, tweak our app that'll improve the audio output on my phone. I'd enjoy something that'll allow you to do some eq setting changes.
Thanks

Are you on a custom rom? If not then yes there is but doing some simple searching will get you the information you need.
Ill give you a hint search for voodoo sound.
voodoo sound definitely helps.. as far as audio apps, the best one I've found is poweramp. you can try it for like 15 days free, but after that you need to pay $2.50
it seems to have the best eq and audio processing to me (without skipping).. and if you disable auto-resume when you plug in your headphones, it was the only app that actually closes it's processes (after about a minute) when you stop the music and exit. All the other apps I tried remained running in the background.
+1 for mike-y's suggestions. I've been hanging out on gingerbread for the past few weeks and I definitely missed an always-working voodoo sound. As far as poweramp goes you can try the eq settings (since as mike-y said) they won't cause too much cpu overhead, which will not cause skips.
I don't like messing with the eq in poweramp, I try to do everything in voodoo sound. All I have turned on though is bass boost to medium and it makes most of my music sound good (pink floyd, rock, metal). .

There isn't any "best" ROM for anything. lol All of them are fine. It's more about what player you use and how you tweak your device. There are more audio mods on XDA than I can count. The beauty of this phone is the Wolfson DAC and it's compatibility with Voodoo sound. Music is all I use this phone for so I'll just give you what I use. jetAudio player with Voodoo Sound and no other mods. I've used that combo on every ROM and it sounds great. There are some other audiophiles who have this phone as well so maybe they'll chime in.
I use XOAK kanged-Xperia style. It has WiFi working okay and GPS works when you use AGPS patch from the forum. It has the Sony libs for clear audio+.
Want to pump it up even more download Bass Booster Pro from play store you won't regret it. Download the free one to try it out. It has an equalizer that gives the virtualizer effect for a fuller sound too.
