Hello all,
i have my XZ Premium since 03.06.2017 and since 4 days i have "stains" on my display (see the attached image).
Does the problem have any of you?
I have also the problem that my XZ Premium does randomly restart itself, without a recognizable pattern. Some times it restarts if i have a call or if i share music via bluetooth in my car or i do nothing.
Did you submerged it to water?

I don't have the stains, but i do have the "random" reboots. The phone crashes a lot when i try to make a phone call. It freezes and then reboots
I had a full retard lock up yesterday while trying to post a photo to a mate in Facebook Messenger... Took, the photo within the app, and then it was like the CPU ground to a halt and was operating at 10mhz and was 20 steps behind my touches and would not recover.. if it was an app issue it would have auto forced closed the app - but instead it sh1t itself.... I had to hold the power down and force restart it... Sony really need to get their act together
I had Z2,Z5 and both had that issue. My friend's Z3 has it too...If it appears on my XZP's screen, it will be my last SONY's phone.
send it to for a repair..they will replace the screen in 1-2 days. But this is not the root cause of the issue.
it will re-appear in half-one year....(it was like that with my z2/z5) - so push them to replace thge whole device....

Hello,
I recently bought Sony XPERIA J which accidently slipped into water tank which with no doubts remove the warrant of My phone & have caused several issues with its working. I kept the phone switched OFF for 5 days and successfully removed moisture from its motherboard. When I turned it ON everything is fine except malfunctioning of WiFi & several Touch Screen issues.
1. The problem with Touch is that whenever I press the POWER KEY to unlock phone I have to wait for atleast 5-10 sec for TOUCH to start responding. Is this a software issue or is it a hardware and also is there any way to fix it.?
2. Another problem is the small LED light (notification indicator), it is constantly glowing BLUE and does not show any other color for any notification and even never turns OFF. Can it be fixed?
3. Problen with WiFi is that it just keeps on trying to turn itself ON with no success, which is consuming the Battery Power a lot. How can I turn OFF the WiFi permanently?

Dude, those are clearly hardware issues. There's no way we can help you with that... take it to a repair store or try your luck with the official warranty.

Thanks for Your reply.
I actually took it to the sevice centre but the said it can only be fixed by replacing the motherboard which costs Rs10000/- , so I just thought of asking for help over here.
Alright, I can bare with these TOUCH & LED issue, but I really need to disable WiFi, so is there any way to do it like removing WiFi module or something like that?
you can try and say to the service centre officials that it started happening after u tried to update but it failed...ofcourse you have to find another service centre
just prove this is happening due to software reason even though it isnt
As they say, bring it to a Sony care point.

Well this is weird. This morning I woke up and grabbed my G from next to my bed and the touch screen is being all slow and not responsive. I can't swipe left or right without doing it very slowly and deliberately. Same thing with bringing down my notification drawer.
Its making the phone near unusable. Even to type this all out I couldn't use Google keyboards swipe typing feature and have to hit each individual button really slowly.
Anyone know what could be causing this?

Install this and see how it behaves https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=multitouchpro.tests&hl=es
Thanks for that useful little app. It registers all my fingers fine, and its good if I swipe slowly, but if I swipe too fast it loses my finger for a second, which I guess is why I have a problem swiping.
I have no idea what's causing this still though since its been working fine for the past month.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Do you by any chance have the charger plugged in while doing this? (My nexus 4 screen acts that way when I connect the wall charger)
Have you tried resetting it?
It's not plugged in, I did try rebooting it but not a reset. I'll have to give that a try now.

Same here, part of the screen is unresponsive, except if you move your finger very slowly.
I have the problem described by OP if I am charging with a high ampere charger. It is solved by me by turning the screen off and on after unplugging it.
I forgot to update. The problem just kind of fixed itself over a few hours. I took it to work and it was still having the problem, and then I took it out of my pocket a few hours into my shift to check a text and it was working like usual.
I dunno. Magic I guess.

Could be that the cpu got underclocked for a while?
Using any cpu overclocking apps?

Guy who did a waterproof test on the Moto G encountered the same issues you described. As the phone dried out the screen slowly came back to life and became responsive again.
I suspect that you have moisture egress into the device, it could cause a strange capacitance differential affecting the digitiser, or even just a short.
Have you used the phone, in shower room, in pocket while exercising. In rain. Taken it from cold outdoors, into very warm indoors. All these things can cause moisture to condense inside the device.
If it happens, the symptoms will reduce as the phone completely dries out...

Facing Same Issue
Hello, I am also facing same issue only when my Moto G is connected to Wall Charger [Be it switched Off or On]. Can any body please help me resolve this issue? Or Do we actually have a solution for the problem stated?

I made the multitouch test and all works fine, it seems like is a software problem but i don't know wich one is failing. I hide the navbar with gravitybox, could this be the cause of the problem ?
definitely your charger I had the same problem when using a generic charger... try a different charger

this behavior happens to me with stock keyboard in whatsapp, after star typing and pressing the "a" key in loop, press the home button and start multitouch test (YAMT) and the screen area that is not responding is where the "a" key is located....
after a while the screen start to response in a normal way...
i tried swift keyboard and guess what.... the same issue again....
this is weird...
note: try to remove the grip shell
Solved,
Okay so I had this issue just now and i got worried, but there is nothing to worry about. The problem is in the charger, use a different charger
my 2 have done this a couple times and I think they were charging at the time. I unplugged the charger but no change. Then I removed the silicone cover I put on and it immediately worked fine both times I did it. I did not turn phone off or reboot. It did not start this trick until I put the covers on. Covers barely touch the screen on the sides. When I replaced cover it still worked until the next time it became unhappy with the cover. Anybody else...................
Update-just checked my other phone. I removed cover w/o unplugging and it did not restore it. Unplugged charger and it was fine. Almost seems like both are contributing to it. more research necessary..........
Maybe the phone just wants to be fondled???????

If it is still not working after it cooled down, go and claim the warranty that came with the phone before its too late...

I got an overheat error after recording 5 mins of 1080p. No idea why???
Your phone is water damaged. I have seen many similar threads for different phones. If there is salt water/chlorine, residue inside it Sony will deny warranty. They clearly state avoid salt and chlorine.

So, i started to notice this mark months ago. When i'm going to any type of place that has a high altitude, it's starts to disappear.Afterall, phone works perfectly like it does. Would anyone help? Thanks.
Out of the 4 of these I've seen, 2 have that mark. I reckon its a manufacturing issue with the screens personally

Replace the screen by yourself or send it to sony. I had such similar problems on a Shield tablet and only way was returning to Nvidia...
whit unlocked bootloader i cannot send it to sony

You can relock it (if you have a backup of your TA-keys.. )
Also, I know some people having trouble with xperia u (hardware fault) that sent it to sony with unlocked BL and they accepted it..
Wet spots
Not much of a problem, experienced that on my m2. It's a moist. There's a really thin air between the phone screen, and when it gets moisture. There you go. If you're in a high altitude place it cools the phone, removing the wet spot on the screen. When it gets warmer you'll get the spots again. You can try this method, applicable to all devices that is experiencing this problem.

if you dont have a stick it, You can try the rice method, putting your phone in for a few days that will do it.
Hope this helps, cheers.
I'm not sure if they'll accept it

I have the very same thing, but works a little different. On my M2 it's nothing connected to the moisture in the air ,its just when the screen is squished with high pressure for some time (let's say jeans) then I take it out and let it alone for 2min and the water mark will be gone. I think its just the way they made the m2 screen, if you don't want this to happen then probably you need to change the screen yourself (carefully though ) and then probably this problem will be gone..

I have this wet spot on mine too, but only if the phone is in leather Case for couple hours.
After i take off the case, the spot disappearing only in 30-60second.
And i thought only I've had this problem. I got this problem by accidentally sleeping on my device. Yes, it gets short in certain cases but gets bigger eventually. I have locked bootloader and they didn't check. They just replaced my device.
Not too long ago, while listening to music on my phone, I pulled out the earphones from the headphone jack and then maybe 5-10 minutes later, the phone screen was flickering. The touch screen is still working but the screen flickering does not really allow me to use the phone and I wanted to know i had to replace the screen. Another thing to note, the lower left hand side is now also quickly heating up. I tried resetting the phone but nothing has been working and I've been stuck. Thanks in advance!
