They actually don't do the exact same thing... My kernel is undervolted, not underclocked. Theres a difference. Undervolted uses less power at the same speeds, underclocked just drops the clockspeed.

But the new Armv7 should be capable like the Droid,legend,devour,etc.
You can lower the vdd for 528MHz, but the next jump down makes it so low that the phone would immediately crash.

So we can lower it but not up it for the overclock?
Also, can we lower it at the lower speeds? (I have mine set up to underclock when the battery is low, when the screen is off, etc. so a lower VDD (if stable) would be great.

How feasible is it to underclock the phone even further than the 128 MHz?
personaly , i dont see a huge advantage to underclocking past what we got now, undervolting.... nah,
@ sleep mine atleast has virtualy no background processes.
and even on a heavy use day, cell standby shows up as my largest drain.
you want much better battery life, id say look into hacking the radio on it.
So i have ran antutu bench mark and then ran better battery stats afterwards and it said my CPU stayed at 1.5ghz the whole time. I was under the impression that it should of changed to the other 4 cores under strenuous activity such as benchmarking. Is there another way i can check to see if all 8 cores work?
I'm guessing that a lot of apps need updating to realise that 4 of the cores are rated at high clocks. No matter what app I use, the highest reported clock speed is 1.5Ghz. BUT that doesn't mean that the other four cores are not working as expected. I can't remember what app I was using at the time when I did this, but I was running something in the background or something, I dunno, something, and I was watching the clock speeds of the 8 cores in the app, and I can confirm that the power cores DO hit 2.1Ghz.
So to clarify, most apps at current are only reporting the CPU clock speed of the efficient cores.
Devs just need to look into how their apps get their data stats etc.

Good recommendation! Cheers! Shame it only does an overlay for the "first 4 cores" though. But it definitely does show the varying and correct usage of all cores

Yep that worked! You can select to show the other cores as overlays in advanced settings. The phone is actually using the other 4 cores heaps. Just in general use it uses them, I wonder if we will be able to change a governor so that it restricts using the power cores as much.

With hal3 active there will be problems with the camera in third-party applications (the default is off)
The "menu" button is not configurable, is the "menu" always called? QRAttached fileFIX_FRAMEWORK.zip (9.27 MB)

It is possible to "stick" the notification of charging / connecting when disconnecting usb / charging (it is treated by resetting)
Setting it right now, it's surely more updated than Hrafninn's last RR rom, mostly for the new kernel with Wi-Fi updated drivers and hotplug, also with optional lowered Cpu freq at 400MHz. Customizations seems to be almost on par with RR, great!
Let's see with Greenify and some blocked alarms/wakelock, what autonomy can provide :fingers-crossed:

Also it have 2.21GHz max freq. that gives antutu over 65k and geekbench 4.500+. But that 400MHz is unusable. Kernel always switching between 652-2.21 GHz and when i tried to set minimum freq to 400MHz my device freeze and rebooted.

It depends on your specific Cpu and other variables, mine, for now seems to be stable...:fingers-crossed:
Anyway I saw there's a huge NETLINK wakelock denying the deepsleep of my device...Now I've deleted all my alarms and wakelock blocked things and from My Android Tools (maybe I was wrong on something that caused the wakelock) and it's fully charged stopped manually at 99%, let's see what happens. The wifi (maybe a little weaker than Miui) and bluetooth scanning are off. Charging was at high speed with original charger and Aukey "big" cable , Led was switched on immediately, but then I've charged with the device off, to speed up the process, and noticed that there's no percentage, only an empty animated icon. Fingerprint is ok, just few issues when trying to unlock on Nova Launcher's home page! I've found that give root to Nova instead of "administrator's privilege" is resolving this issue (Root is needed to use the "lock now button" with Nova).
I've also set the Low Cpu freq at 400MHz and limited the high at 2GHz instead of modified 2.2GHz. Today I'll test also the "equalizer" system app, that yesterday crashed when I opened up from inside Shuttle music app.
I hope to solve the wakelock problem.

i notice the max cpu freq is 2.208 Mhz (overclocked) while our cpu maximum freq is 2.000 Mhz, correct me if i'm wrong, thats why the rom is so fast, is it safe for our cpu health?

Yes it's safe.It's a small overclock and beside that there are mechanisms like cpu throttling and core offline that prevent overheating.Also the rom is not fast because of that, you can barelly notice any improvement from a 10% speed increase.
What about battery? I'm on ViperOS right now because that Pixel Experience that offer, but I really want to try this one

nonoononono if you overclock you snapdragon 835 you will not surpass the 845 and you will kill you cpu life because this cpu doesnt have a cooler
but yes its posible i had already try it but do not do it

this is a video which I found in YouTube there you can see there is not a nice cooler for the CPU so if you do something like overclock you can kill you smartphone , I use ADB for 4k screen and my phone is hot Everytime and if I do overclock I will have a bomb in my house (irony)

okay i get your point about the heat dispersion, but i play PUBG and most intensive games at least around 4-5hrs a day ( with heavy browsing too) , yet my phone barely get hot are you sure your phone is alright??

this is the thing mate.. im not running my phone full4K all the time. i dont need that , all i need is more power out of the cpu and gpu. so OCing with the stock 1080p config wont harm ( at least thats what i assume given the fact that current temps are healthy af).
If there is anyone to guide me with this process , i would love to give this a try ( take one for the team)

atm im not running a ASOP based rom. im running stock af , could you recommend me a stable rom and a kernel to flash ( which scales up healthy with OCing)? also is there a way to turn off thermal mitigation setting in XZP?

Gpu overclock is my reason to root poco.
I'm new to this I want to ask if KonaBess works with Poco X3 Pro ?
I know that works with 855/855+ and anybody tested this ?
Is there Kernel for Poco X3 Pro that increase Gpu Freq to 700-800 Mhz for gaming ?
Overclocking to 700Mhz is useless for me, because GPU from SD860 has 675Mhz as max. frequency.
And yes - messing with KonaBess cause reboot under heavy load.

But to 750-765 or 800 Mhz is worth it ,but someone tell me that snapdragon 860 is first chip with " seems like frequency tables for 860 is locked . TZ locked "

Let's try 695Mhzh... That's too much.

You need to know that how much hardware using voltage on some level, "it's not only gpu that you measure". Example cpu will use more voltage if it's freq is maxed, and your TFT/IPS screen Will use some voltage to if brightness maxed.
So if you use NOM_L3 on GPU, please calculate other hardware to successfully measure "hardware used resources voltage" for overclocking.
You need to install some battery measurements like accubattery or something to get value of current MaH used by devices and do overclock step by step to migrate NOM_L3
Mine works if cpu is downgraded from 2.4ghz to 2.2ghz, and with lowest screen brightness to do 850mhz on snapdragon 855
I think that gpu is tzlocked at 692mhz. Sadly so this is max freq from 855+/860 which we can get.
Maybe modifying kernel will unlock this.

Well, from my experience, that kernel definitely does not overclock, however, it makes the phone run really smooth, especially on custom roms. You can try doing it yourself (oc), or wait for gaming kernel. However, i dont see the need in overclocking this phone, really.

Yeh but Mi 9 happy has 855 not 855+/860 so Gpu can be overclock up to even 850 MHz with no problem.
