Bugs:
With hal3 active there will be problems with the camera in third-party applications (the default is off)
The "menu" button is not configurable, is the "menu" always called? QRAttached fileFIX_FRAMEWORK.zip (9.27 MB)
There may be problems with the stock camera (if problems with other cameras do not go away) - QRAttached filemarkw-oss-cam.zip (724.45 KB)
It is possible to "stick" the notification of charging / connecting when disconnecting usb / charging (it is treated by resetting)

Setting it right now, it's surely more updated than Hrafninn's last RR rom, mostly for the new kernel with Wi-Fi updated drivers and hotplug, also with optional lowered Cpu freq at 400MHz. Customizations seems to be almost on par with RR, great!
Let's see with Greenify and some blocked alarms/wakelock, what autonomy can provide :fingers-crossed:

Also it have 2.21GHz max freq. that gives antutu over 65k and geekbench 4.500+. But that 400MHz is unusable. Kernel always switching between 652-2.21 GHz and when i tried to set minimum freq to 400MHz my device freeze and rebooted.

It depends on your specific Cpu and other variables, mine, for now seems to be stable...:fingers-crossed:
Anyway I saw there's a huge NETLINK wakelock denying the deepsleep of my device...Now I've deleted all my alarms and wakelock blocked things and from My Android Tools (maybe I was wrong on something that caused the wakelock) and it's fully charged stopped manually at 99%, let's see what happens. The wifi (maybe a little weaker than Miui) and bluetooth scanning are off. Charging was at high speed with original charger and Aukey "big" cable , Led was switched on immediately, but then I've charged with the device off, to speed up the process, and noticed that there's no percentage, only an empty animated icon. Fingerprint is ok, just few issues when trying to unlock on Nova Launcher's home page! I've found that give root to Nova instead of "administrator's privilege" is resolving this issue (Root is needed to use the "lock now button" with Nova).
I've also set the Low Cpu freq at 400MHz and limited the high at 2GHz instead of modified 2.2GHz. Today I'll test also the "equalizer" system app, that yesterday crashed when I opened up from inside Shuttle music app.
I hope to solve the wakelock problem.

Yes it's safe. It's a small overclock and beside that there are mechanisms like cpu throttling and core offline that prevent overheating. Also the rom is not fast because of that, you can barelly notice any improvement from a 10% speed increase.

What about battery? I'm on ViperOS right now because that Pixel Experience that offer, but I really want to try this one

[Kernel] [GPL] Sense 2.6.32.21 OC/UV 1.51GHZ (CFS-Smartass-TUN)

This kernel is created specifically for sense roms It will more then likely not work in it current state on any AOSP based rom
Features
Overclocked to 1.51ghz and stable as ever (for most)
added in smartass and interactive cpu freq govs
added in TUN support
compiled v4l2 as modules
many more....
for a full list of changes check the commit log here
Quirks
Smartass wont scaled below 768mhz atm im looking into it stick with interactive for the best overall experience for now.

Awesome! I'll give my feedback as to how it is working.
I did notice once a governor is selected you have to reset your Mhz or it will stay on 806 max. Also this kernel doesnt want to work with OC widget at all but works fine with SetCPU. I've always liked OC widget a little more as it uses less battery than SetCPU.
Great work so far BC your the man. Been running this bad boy and havn't had a single reboot @ 1.5ghz. Though my battery is going quick for some reason, dont know why

If you get random reboots, it means it's OCed a bit too high; just scale it back a bit and you'll be fine if that ever happens
Is this running at 1.5 all the time or does it throttle between ranges?
What is the default range?
Does the user have to do anything to enable or set the throttling?

As noted above, I'm new to OC'ing but I'm pretty sure you have to set it to the ranges you want via something like SetCPU or OS Monitor. I believe default is gonna stop at 800mhz unless you scale it up.

System tuner by 3c available in the market.
Matt
yeah i did that but under voltage it says not available.
Mike
Remove any overclocking app you have, if you are using one.
Go to the market, download System Tuner app by a developer named 3c.
Set your clock frequency to whatever you want to by opening the app and going to th tab named Tweaks.
Then, once on the Tweaks tab, click Voltage.
On the bottom left, there will be a button that says "-12.5mV", hit that exactly 7 times. That's the safest voltage that I have seen it can go, altough certain phones can go lower.
To the right, click boot setting and click on re-apply cpu settings at boot, and you're set.
You are now undervolted.

Did you give it Super User permission? Did you also hit the cpu tab before the voltage tab?
I updated superuser and it worked.
Whats a safe undervolting voltage and also how much battery life is going to be improved?
playing with undervolts and it seems the lowest voltage is fixed to 812500
i'm guessing, it's set by kernel, but i wonder, if i can lower it even more?

Best in terms of speed, battery life?
best thing is not to overclock as this can reduce battery life, so i use 2 profiles in addition to the normal one which is 245-1024 scaling=interactive, the other two profiles are
245-768 at screen off scaling=conservative
245-368 at battery<16% scaling= conservative(u can try powersave but its too slow then)
hope this helps
i have little problem. even if i set intercative 245mhz-1ghz after one day or simply later it freeze at 245 mhz. phone is then very laggy and i have to change profile to get it to work again.

yes probably a bug, never had this problem try changing the scaling or do a clean install again, but interactive is more cpu aggressive so it provides better performance
What about overlock
What is the scale to have it
What about

overclocking depends on the kernel you have installed, most of them have a max of 1.5 ghz("Safe" limit), but generally its not good to overclock for the battery and for the phone itself unless for a short time and you can use whatever scaling you feel appropriate.
as for the other questions , i have no idea about those

well i would recommend to adjust to 368 min, since most of the time the phone is on standby and 768 mhz are not needed on standby it will only consume your battery, but you can keep it the way it is if you feel that way

[Q] Good kernel for CM11 which increases thermal throttling temps?

Hello
I am new to this forum and am a long time CM user which I am using on my phone at the moment. However, having discovered the aggressive thermal throttling on this phone (CPU-intensive tasks seem to throttle the max CPU speed down to 1190 MHz very very quickly, before the phone even gets warm), I'm trying to find a custom kernel that will work with CM. I don't care about any fancy features such as S2W or DT2W and if the kernel allows these to be disabled then that would be even better. Basically looking for a reliable, stable kernel that can be configured to be as close to stock as possible, but which would stop the aggressive thermal throttling.
Thanks
Hi, and Welcome!
I'm afraid that your post likely will be considered a "Best ROM or kernel" thread which is not allowed. It's usually suggested that you go over to the development forum and try out kernels for yourself because everybody's needs are different, and so on.

Only Chaos kernel is compatiblewith CM atm afaik because its a CAF based kernel.

I'll give that a try. From browsing earlier I noticed that n30Hammer and ElementalX have separate links for CM11, I figured they would be compatible.

Hi,
Yes they are compatible too, for ElementalX choose the right version. Both have thermal settings.
There is also: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649458 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633955 (almost the same kernels apart the Toolchain), compatible with CM/CM based rom with thermal control too.

All you do is make it "best kernel for specific criteria" then. Mods see it all as the same thing.
I'm giving ElementalX a try for now. The mods can feel free to close this thread if they see fit.
Thanks for all the replies.
before this gets locked you need a CAF kernel, Chaos kernel comes to mind, they do nice work. Comes with NXT tweaks which allows you to customize almost everything including temp.
I tried all possible CM11 kernels and Chaos kernel has in my opinion a very nice CPU load management.
Other kernels will stay for several seconds in max frequency after a power demand which result in higher CPU battery drain.
Bricked kernel was also excellent in that field and super responsive but the developer takes a break at the moment so the kernel is not usable for the CAF Version of CM after 25.01.14 without further modding and the AOSP mod for CM CAF is producing some weird behavior on my phone so I go for Chaos and CM at the moment.
I found Elemental would keep upping the minimum CPU to 1267 instead of 300, so at the moment I'm trying out NexXxt as @viking37 linked above, and using Trickster to configure the temps it seems to be working pretty good.

It's normal, it's how Mpdecision from Qualcomm works (for smoothness purpose). Each time you touch the screen the min CPU freq is increased to 1,26 Ghz. In fact the apps reads this at the min CPU freq because you touch the screen to open it. When you stop to touch the screen the min CPU freq will go back to 300 Mhz, the app needs to update the reading of the min CPU freq too but with Trickser Mod it seems it stuck at 1.26 Ghz all the time (for the reading only) but your min CPU freq is 300 Mhz when you don't touch the screen. You will see better this behavior with an app with "live reading CPU freq" like PerfMon or System Monitor.
You can use the "lock frequency" setting in Trickster Mod after set your min CPU freq to 300Mhz, if you want.
