[flashable] wget feature in terminal

I know this is going to be at least useful for me, and anyone else that is familiar with wget. That's why I got it working for the EVO (and soon for the Xoom). If you are familiar with the linux system, you should know what the wget command is ;-) Below is a screenshot to show it works.
You must be rooted to use this.
Instructions:
1) Download zip file below to your SD card.
2) Boot into recovery and flash the zip.
3) Reboot
To use: (I will make this a easier process in next update.)
1) Open any terminal emulator of your choice.
2) type "su" without the quotes
3) type cd system/app/wget
4) type wget http://xxx.com/filename.extention
and watch it download! (as shown below)

Haha ;-) Glad you like it.
Yeah compiz would be neat haha -- trying to port this to the Xoom as well.
I am working on a .sh that you will be able to kick off once you load up terminal so you can use this wget tool without having to CD into directories at all. I'll probably have this up by the end of the day.
Let me know if you have any questions
I'll try to play with it when i get home today, if i have time that is.
I just did a successful wget on my rooted evo and I don't have your files installed.
Busybox 1.18 allows this feature already...no need for extra files.

Lol..the Mac users tend to get the short end of the stick when it comes to tools. There's no reason scripts like this wouldn't work (maybe with a little massaging) via Terminal if they've got bash/fink and all the adb stuff setup.

Does your enable WiFi tethering script just modify the db from broadband to pta?
This requires the tethering guard apk?

Yessir. The script assumes you still have tetherguard.apk. I think the tetherguard odex file is also required, but I haven't gotten confirmation on that.

Heh I hear ya. I was just saying that most linux scripts can work just fine (with minor tweaks) on Macs if the user has a little bit of *nix knowledge.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I thought the Rogers One XL had a CID of ROGER001, not ROGERS01?

Hi, this is just an app that let's you browse and edit the RubyGems repository website, that's why you have to login. If you're interested in running Ruby in your device, I suggest you to take a look at this StackOverflow question, which contains the answer to your questions.

First of all, thanks a lot for directing me there, I couldn't find it myself.
Someone suggested there to root device and use apt-get. I already have my device rooted, but I don't know where I can use Linux commands such as apt-get on my android device (Galaxy S4 GT-I9515).
Another person suggested using Ruboto IRB, but I have no idea what that is nor how can I get it. I would like an explanation here as well (if you could of course )
Another question, when I use cSploit it tells me that there's a ruby updrade avaible and asks me if I want to install it. I infer that I already have Ruby if it asks me to UPDATE it (the app works fine btw), but I'm not sure.
To execute the Linux commands you need to install a terminal emulator via the Play Store, where you can also download Ruboto.

Ok cool. So you're telling me that installing a terminal emulator will actually prompt linux commands to my device? Like, it's not just a simulation?
Also, I would be happy if you could explain me what Ruboto does or how it works.
BTW Thanks again for replying, I really appriciate your will to help

Access your Android's built-in Linux command line shell. Unleash your inner geek!
This is a remake of the popular "Terminal Emulator for Android" application by Jack Palevich.
Same great program, just with a material design
Top Features
+ Full Linux terminal emulation.
+ Multiple windows.
+ UTF-8 text. (Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Thai, etc.)
+ Customizable interface-palette.
+ No ads, no payed functions, just a donate option
Quick FAQ:
+ This app isn't a game emulator.
+ This app won't help you root your phone or change your phone's IMEI.
+ You need to know (or be willing to learn) how to use the Linux command line to use this app.
+ You may want to install a set of command line utilities like "Busy Box", "Debian chroot" or "GNU CoreUtils" in order to add commands beyond the commands that come built into your Android device.
+ If you get a -505 error when trying to install this app under Android 5.0, it means that some other app is using the same permissions. You will have to uninstall the other app in order to install Terminal Emulator for Android. (People tell that "jrummy's Toolbox Pro" causes this problem.)
