How many microphones does the osprey have? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How many microphones does the osprey have? That is to say on the side of the connector of the handset you can see a hole, but where is the speaker is a microphone (I tried on voice notes in whatsapp and captures the audio from this)
My questions are:
1- How many mics does the osprey really have?
2- The hole next to the headset jack is a second mic? Does it act as the main microphone or noise canceling microphone?
I have attached an image showing which hole is

Splitting the 3.5mm jack with microphone and speaker output - possible?

Hi All,
I was wondering if the below scenario is possible with any android phone.
- Plug a 3.5mm splitter into the audio jack (two female ends)
- Plug a speaker system (headphones, whatever) into one split port
- Plug a microphone into the other split port
Would the phone play audio (music, etc) through the headphones normally? If someone were to call, would the voice on the other end play through the headphones and the microphone work for me to talk to them through?
Thanks!
EDIT: Since the response has been overwhelming I went and tried the method above. Works perfectly. Thanks to... me *self high five*.

3.5 Audio Jack for Mic Boost

Hi,
I have the following question, most (maybe all) smartphones have a 3.5mm audio jack which also allows headphones with a mic (included with some phones) since it has TRRS.
What i want is a way to connect a normal mic which is TRS (i has have a TRS->TRRS adapter) to that 3.5 audio jack in order to increase the mic volume in my phone, one main reason is when my phone is connected via bluetooth to some speakers like in the car, it will automatically decrease the mic volume.
Any suggestions?
Anyone?
This is really annoying as bluetooth lowers mic volume to almost noting...
I have discovered that mixer_paths.xml file might help in boosting the mic on bluetooth and that it also might a cyanogenmod bug...
Is anyone familiar with the values in this file and what they mean?

Calling over internal Loudspeaker -> Bad microphone Quality

Hello,
does anyone else experiences issues when calling over the internal Loudspeaker? The Person I'm calling with very often doesn't understand me clearly (often rather low Volume and a bit choppy).
But this only happens while calling via Loudspeaker (and mostly after few minutes of calling), as the Loudspeaker uses secondary microphone. Even in the test-menĂ¼ the recordings of the secondary microphone don't sound as clear as the recordings of primary mic.
This Problem also doesn't just affect the Z3 series (tested with 3 different Z3). Even my girlfriend with her Sony Z1 has the same Problem.
Is there a fix for this or a mod, which switches secondary mic with primary mic in Loudspeaker mode?
Thanks in advance

OnePlus One Microphone doesn't work in Loudspeaker.

Hi guys how you all doing?
So my microphone doesn't work in loudspeaker mode for some reason. but apart from that It works everywhere else. Recording, normal calls, etc...
From my understanding OPO has 3 microphones.
The Main Mic and 2 other Mics in the Motherboard.
The Main mic is working fine but the mics on the motherboard aren't so when I go on LoudSpeaker the mics from board don't capture any sound. So they think that what the main Mic is Capturing is background noise so they just cut it all out and People can't hear me.
Now I know what you all thinking "ohh yea have you tried flashing the microphone fix..." and yes I have and it doesn't work. Because those files are a workaround for when the Main Mic is broken. They basically bypass the Main Mic and you start using the Mics that are on the board.
My problem is the other way around. The Main Mic Works but the ones on the board don't. I have tried editing the "mixer_paths" file but I don't know what I'm doing.
What I would like to ask if someone could help me out or guide or explain how I could bypass the mic on the Board and just use the Main Mic for everything.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

KLD PX5 Android 8.0 - Person Called Can't Hear Me When In Bluetooth Call

Anyone knows what's causing this issue.
Check microphone. Both internal and external are working with voice commands. Pretty accurate.
Bluetooth music (A2DP) works also.
Thanks.
Bumped!
I haven't seen this issue, but out of interest what is your MCU version? Try v2.94 if it is lower
MCU version is 2.94 already
I discovered that the external mic is not use during bluetooth call. Only the internal one. Resolved it by replacing the internal mic (which I think is defective) by the external mic. I retain the car's stock external mic.
Also soldered a wire extension of about 2 feet to the internal mic pins to remove bluetooth call noise heard by the other person. Removes around 95% of the noise.
