Ok so here we go. I bought a phone from someone earlier today. It was supposed to be a Samsung Galaxy S7 and it says it on the back, when you turn the phone on at startup and in the settings. Here is the thing. The model number inside the phone is a samsung galaxy core prime as well as the imei. It is the same shape and size and everything and the body as the s7 also. How can someone do this?
I downloaded the Samsung app ""phone info and it gives me a bunch of info of the galaxy core prime. It HAS been rooted also. it gives me nothing about knox or anything else no build numbers or anything.
I know all about root and a little about Odin, but nothing about something like this that someone can manipulate a phone and why. Can someone please help me??????
See if you can boot into download mode, whatever it says in there is the correct model phone, firmware can be faked
If it is the core prime, only way I can imagine they did that would be if the motherboards were close enough size to fit the S7 body, but the shape and size of the core prime body is very different to the S7

Okay so I smashed up my S5 the other day pretty badly and now I plan on repairing it.
The glass is smashed and the digitizer is broken but it makes the boot noise and google now works as well as s-voice so I think that after the digitizer has been replaced it should work. I've tried to view the screen through a computer using adb with usb but I don't think usb debugging was enabled because it didn't work. If anyone has any ideas on a way I can check that it will work after I replace the screen that would be great.
Okay so the main question: I have a full sized Samsung Galaxy S5 G900I (the Asia/Australian version) and was wondering if anyone knew if I could replace the digitizer and screen assembly with one from a Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F (the fullsize UK version). This is because I'm living in the UK and was hoping to replace the screen/digitizer with used one from the UK model.
Any help is much appreciated and if this has been posted before then could someone link me to it please because I've done some searching but haven't found this question. If there's any other info that I've left out just say

From my searching it seems they have the same screen specs.
and most of the other Galaxy S 5 digitizers from the G900 series are universal. The difference between these two phones are the LTE speeds.
If you have a low budget I wouldn't recommend risking it due to lack of information, but if you have 120$ you're willing to blow, go ahead, and if it works well now we know it works and other people with this problem can use this thread a reference. I hope this helps!

Thanks for clearing that up, I'll probably end up trying to repair it because I loved that phone. I'll post back if I do.

Get AIDA64(on Google play Store) and check the specs... if it has a Tmobile startup screen I assume it is a SMG930T but then again it could be running a firmware from a different phone ...

I sold a htc 10 to some guy and he was complaining about some guy selling him a fake S7. I have a S7 and this phone was almost identical to mines, besides the not so bright non amoled display, and no fingerprint sensor or even in the settings....this one can fool the average consumer if you don't fully test it out. What gives it away is the low brightness and no fingerprint, the model seems to be a international model as well. side by side, they were about 95% identical
Hello, I just want to clarify if other users having a Samsung Galaxy S Duos gt-s7562 are also having a paint peeling off issue at the sides, top and bottom. Because my phone's paint at the sides are peeling off and I'm just wondering if I bought the phone in a rip-off store or if this is to be expected from this phone. A simple reply of "Yes" or "No" is very much appreciated. Thanks!
yes indeed, it happens on every Samsung S. I have even seen it on a samsung grand, S3, Sdous2 and 3, S4, tab 2 10.1.
ours is already old. even the home button would come off/goes inside and you know it's an original one, if you still have a doubt, try registering your device on samsung official site and find out.
I find myself a little overwhelmed by all the firmware #s and what is ok and isn't. So...lol
I found this galaxy s7 edge on the side of the road. Its beat up pretty bad. I mean, it looks wrecked, but surprisingly the screen is in almost perfect shape. Anyway, there was a screen lock on it so I factory reset it..and you know the rest so..
Its at 7.0 (g935vvru4bqf2) from what i've read I need to downgrade and then it will allow side sync to pop up on frp on phone.. Correct?
I'm confused which firmware to download and flash with Odin ttyl put the phone back to where that will happen. I've also heard it has to have ph1 or something. Dunno. Hope someone gets this..lol
Hi everyone,
I love my Note Edge 915A so much I got another one, when the screen started flaking out: Half my screen goes greenish - have read its a microfracture that will only get worse.
So I went looking for another phone and decided I dont like current offerings (I use the SD card and IR blaster a LOT), so I'll get the same for the time being, and ended got a 915F from ebay. Internet said it would work with AT&T. It doesn't look like it does. Questions I need help with:
- SIM card (taken from the 915A I have ) says "Invalid SIM Card". I've re-seated and sung sweet songs to it. Doesn't want to take.
- Read that 4G/LTE wont work on the 915F, maybe never? Have we found a solution to this yet?
- I've never flashed the 915A, but can install a custom ROM for the 915F to get 4G/LTE to work on AT&T?
Bottom line is, I would like some feedback on if I should just return it and look for an used 915A? I liked this one because it was new in box, but...
Thank you!
My friend, i have three solution for you, sens it seem your simm card is dedicated only for the A phone model simmlock.
1. Go to at&t shop to make the simm card for your new phone, they might ask for your phone perhaps to simmlock??
2. Flashing at&t room on new phone could be danger if it's different hardware chipsets, you are in your own!!!
3. Changing hardware board from A model in to F model it should work, that means you have everything in your phone you had before, just be careful you dont desttoy anything during removal of the board, use plastic gloves for any static demage might happen.
