Hey.
Had this phone for a week now and whilst it's a great phone, there appears to be a few bugs which need sorting. The main one is the incompatibility with the car for controlling apps like Spotify or streaming music via Bluetooth.
The later is a real pain and one which is causing me to seriously consider getting rid of this device as it's a killer feature for me due to the amount of driving I do.
Had a quick look at Talk Sony forum and a few other people have the same problem but as of yet there is no update or word from Sony.
Anyone else have the same experience and a potential solution?
Cheers
Scott
No solution, I got word from Sony that they are working on it, but my guess is that this will be fixed with Android O, and this could be months ahead :/
But maybe we will receive an update for Android 7, who knows...
Thanks for the reply. This kind of settles it then as Monday is last day of my cooling off period.. Gonna have to take it back as there is no way I can function in my job if I can t use handsfree properly or music
Such a shame.
had the same thing, after much research i found its probably the fact that the premium has bluetooth 5, with special codecs for music streaming. Non of which was available in 2012 when my car was made.
Ive ordered a £3 hadfree kit of ebay to see if that makes any difference.

I was gonna do the same but the only offer they gave me was an s8 with less data for an extra £15 a month. I stuck with the Sony and am hoping when my new car arrives it works.
Good luck.
I have a new 2017 BMW and I am stunned that it doesnt work. The S8 works great and the iPhone is perfect but for some reason Sony have been left out in the dark.

Spoke to Sony. They do believe their device is at fault and have no plans to do any software tweaks till Android O
I dont have any issues with mine controlling pause, play, last or next song, but I switched to Deezer a while back. Ive had more than one issue with Spotify on other devices, so I moved on from that service.

It's such a strange problem.
Hi guys goodevening I've solve this issue ! you just to go o dev menu anche change bluetooth version avrcp from 1.6 to 1.4 after that it will worck again with the idrive with any app.
I tried changing avrcp to 1.4 yet it still won't stream music at all to my alpine head unit.
Didn't even come up as an option under Bluetooth. Says it is connected for calls and contacts only.
The alpine works fine with galaxy note 2, 4, galaxy s5 and s8, Huawei y550. So the fault is with the xz premium.
Same Problem with Alpine and Bose. Solution?

Anyone having similar problems with bluetooth audio streaming on Tab 7.7 with new JB firmware please, post your device names to this thread.
I will post any future updates from Samsung here as well
Original post:
Major disappointment after using Bluetooth A2DP with Samsung HS3000 headset(apt-x compatible).
Tested with stock music player, google music and poweramp. After playing for a few minutes, tab starts to slow down, then player might freeze, tab settings freeze, reboot into the eternal samsung logo. Only way out long press on power.
ICS was pretty bad, but at least it played for 20-30 minutes before going kaboom ...
Please, post your experiences with Bluetooth audio streaming.

I use a Jawbone Era and Jambox and have not had these problems.
All headsets listed above do not support apt-x.
Maybe this is the key to this problem.
Anyone with apt-x capable headset or speakers?

hi, actually it should support apt-x. Same prob here it is awful. A fix would be fantastic.
I used nokia bh 505 - played music for 4hrs, no glitch whatsoever
Mine syncs fine with older aftermarket car stereo, Jawbox Jambox and also a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with none of these issues.
Now, it does reboot occasionally a different times but that's another story...
another prob
Hi guys, thanks for your answers. But I think the problem is more an apt x Codecs problem and less a bluetooth problem.

Hi, it s called creative ziisound D5. I ve tested different devices, it s defenitly the tab, which has the problem. it s like you described, a fix would be wonderful. But in a other forum, people told me that they have devices, which workt with the tab using apt x.
I have submitted the bug to Samsung customer support.

Over 5 weeks passed.
No updates. I still can not use 2 Samsung products which supposed to work with each other.
BT drivers are compiled in the kernel. I just wonder if there is an option (to enable) for further device support within the .config prior to compile.
Will take a look in approx 3 weeks time. Please remember to PM (remind) me before then and see if anything can be done.
Edit: please PM me anyway, because IF something can be done, you will be required to flash a custom kernel, and if you don't want that, let me know so I don't waste my time
Cheers,

In my other cars it works fine so I know its my Kia but I don't have any idea how I can rectify this. Called the tech at Kia and he said they've not tested the note 7 and may never as the car is a few years old so It looks like I'm on my own here. On my 2013 Kia optima w/ navi I do not get media audio so only BT that works is the phone. It will show the first song sometimes on pandora (Streaming audio, NOT pandora app radio) but never will update after that. All audio always comes from phone. I can change songs from the stereo but that's it. Totally useless. Works fine in my other cars and my BT radio in my garage so it's a problem w/ my Kia but WTF?? My note 3 and a note 5 work just fine. Very disappointing.
Anyone else have this issue? Any suggested fixes?

Other than the usual going into the settings of both your Kia's radio and your new phone to remove both devices from the list of available devices and re-pair them both, not sure what else you can do? There appears to be a widespread issue with the Note 7's ability to maintain a solid bluetooth connection for a lot of folks out there including me. Hopefully its a software issue and not a hardware issue in which case Samsung should already be well aware of it and working on a resolution.
I am having the exact same problem with a 2013 Sonata Limited 2.0. Reset the phone and even swapped it out for another. It connects to my portable Bluetooth speakers with no issues. My M8 and M9 connect to my car just fine. I'm hoping some type of fix is available.

So I spoke w/ my kia service manager today and we had a talk. I told him all the steps i've gone through and also that i've tried two different kia/hyunais and it didn't work in either. He has started a ticket and has an in w/ the audio designers at Kia so he says. I originally thought it was MM that was the issue but my wife has an S5 w/ MM and it works fine. She has BT 4.0 and I have 4.2 I'm wondering if that is part of the issue.
So you tried two note 7s and they both did it? That was something I wanted to try.

Yes, I did and same problem persists. It almost seems like the Bluetooth profile on the phone is not backwards compatible.
Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
The odd thing is it shows the first song in pandora on the stereo. I can also control forward but not play/pause from my stereo just no audio. Do you have the same behavior? Sso AVRCP is sort of working at least. I think you may be onto something about the BT profile even though it should be backward compatible.
Dave
Is it just Pandora or all media files playing back from your Music Library on the phone? It could be a Pandora thing. I have a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 and my bluetooth works fine using my Note 7.
I tried spotify as well. Even waze only goes through phone speaker. No media audio option comes up in
In bluetooth.
So their first response to the service manager is below. How can 2013 MY have AVN 2.0 and by 2016 they're already at AVN 4.0 and basically saying FU to anyone w/ an "olde" car that is 3 years old.
To my knowledge, that platform is no longer tested (it is an AVN 2.0 and we are up to AVN 4.0 and developing AVN 5.0) however, advise would be for the customer to continue to update their phone, delete pairings and re-pair after they update their phone software. I can send this information to the Bluetooth team and see if they are able to duplicate anything on a vehicle however, it's hard to guarantee compatibility on older models with newer phones and software.
I would have to check and see if any later software is available however, sometimes a map update will give the customer the latest head unit software however, that is not covered under warranty."

2013 Altima SL no issues with BT on Note 7 connecting and heard through car speakers. I use several podcast apps and never had a problem.
Different cars handle the 4.2 protocol differently obviously.
I did create a trouble ticket for those who would like to chime in .

Hmm...I'll have to try mine again. I've used it no problem on my Kenwood deck for calls. But I don't think I've even tried streaming audio yet.
Samsung's stance is it is my car. Despite the car working w/ the Note 3, Note 5 and S5. Everyone is passing the buck. This phone is about to be returned.

Hello there,

I get a message saying ''headphones not supported .......'''
Can that really be true? - never had that issue before with any phone nor' headset.
Is there a way to fix it, and what kind of headset doesent work, kinda scared buying a new pair of headphones that ain't from sony, if they dont work.

O2 store. Worst marketing ever. Saw someone's comments on Facebook that they were selling them. Ordered and arrived a day later.
But on topic... Track control and now audible feedback is bloody non existent. For example long press doesn't give you the Google notification 'ping' to let you know you can start taking to Google Assistant.
And as above, no skip to previous track option.
Shame because their primary function, as earphones, they are bloody good for the money. Comfy as well.
Presumably, as no one has them yet (or very few) this question may stay unanswered for some time.
However, does anyone know whether, in theory, there's scope for changing this should Oneplus feel so inclined?

Presumably this is only for locally stored music? I really wanted this functionality to work with Spotify.
Also I've just tried it. The three clicks does not skip to previous track I am afraid.
looks like works only with local file players , not with streaming apps

Just to be clear, we are on about the wireless bullets here.
I've tried Google Play Music, VLC and JetAudio and it works with none of them so I'm not sure why I'm getting these sort of responses.
The WIRED version works with everything. Even Spotify if you know how.
But the WIRELESS earbuds do not. The functionality does not appear to be supported at present.
So, can anyone actually tell me a) whether in theory it's possible, or better still, b) if they've managed to do it and if so how?

I'm absolutely baffled by the decision however
Have posted this as a bug with OnePlus because I can't get my head around this UI decision.

Can confirm working on s9+
Only problems I've had is Bluetooth car phone calls apparently sound like garbage to the other person and when the phone call ends it doesn't tell my car it's ended and when it resumes music it sounds like someone putting sound dampening material on my speakers. I have to turn my Bluetooth off and on again and it's fixed.
Also popup view isn't working correctly. The X at the top where you can drag the popup to dismiss it won't leave until you stop the process which is just a quick restart for me.
The original post says dual cameras isn't working yet but it does for me. I have normal and telephoto buttons in the camera app.
WiFi calling also doesn't work. Nor does device care.
I also feel like my Sprint LTE slowed quite a bit. Nothing loads nearly as fast on data.
