I have an AT&T HTC Inspire 4G on Android version 2.3.3 and HTC Sense 2.1 and an Adesso WKB-4000BB Bluetooth Touchpad Keyboard (that worked fine with a Windows Mobile phone and a laptop)
After pairing the phone to the keyboard, under Bluetooth Settings I see "Adesso Bluetooth Touchpad Keyboard" and "Paired but not connected". Here are the steps I go through:
Turn on bluetooth on the phone, make it discoverable (saw this suggested in another post), and hit scan for devices.
Turn on the keyboard and hit the Connect button. The blue LED starts to flash.
On the phone, I select the "Adesso Bluetooth Touchpad Keyboard" option and it prompts for a PIN to pair with the keyboard. I enter 1234 (have also tried 12345678 and 0000) on the phone and then 1234 on the keyboard followed by enter.
The blue light continues to blink and the phone shows "Paired but not connected" with the only option of "Unpair".
The keyboard then seems to have no effect on the phone and the blue light just keeps blinking.
If I try typing the code on the keyboard first, then on the phone, the phone displays "Pairing". Typing the code on the keyboard again changes the phone to "Paired but not connected" and I'm back to the same spot.
Any suggestions or apps to try?
Paul...
By keyboards don't work on the stock Inspire. Only on CM based roms as the stock is missing the needed BT profiles
Keyboard works
Moved to CM 7.1 and I am now happily using my BT keyboard- Thank you for the help. Paul....
Glad you got it fixed.

just bought a bluetooth obd2 adapter and the torque app but i just cannot get my phone to connect to it because android needs a password to connect to the adapter. tried all the passwords i saw on the web such as 1234 0000 6789 1234 2345 3456 etc and none of em work
however i dont think the adpater has a password because my laptop can connect to it perfectly fine without a passcode.
is there any way to con android into thinking i have typed a password into the box so itl let me connect without putting a passcode in?
quick bump
The thing is i tried to pair my android device (moto x phone) to an intel android tablet. Both devices were paired easily. After pairing them I tried to connect them through bluetooth but was unable to do so. Whenever I tapped my device name in tablet it responded by not connecting. Whenever i tapped tablet name in my phone it connected for a millisecond and disconnected. What should I do? How do i connect to the bluetooth.
My tablet is Galaxy tab pro 8.4, the model number is sm-t719, Android version is 6.0.1 and I rooted my device
In the past I was using the Microsoft universal Bluetooth keyboard (the non foldable keyboard) with my tablet and i was able to pair successfully with my tablet
After that the keyboard spoilt and I bought a new keyboard which is the same model. I also was able to successfully pair with the new keyboard, but I had to return it because the built in battery is damaged and it does not charge
I just got a new keyboard which is the same model but now I am unable to pair it to my tablet. I will tell u the problem
I was able to successfully pair the Bluetooth keyboard to my windows pc. The pc detected the keyboard and it asked me to type in the pass key on the keyboard, the pass key stayed showing on my pc and it didn't go away, I typed the pass key correctly and the pairing was successful. The same thing happened when I paired with an iPhone and the pairing was successful
The problem is when I tried to pair it with my tablet. The pass key shows on the tablet, but it is going away very fast and it says pairing unsuccessful and I am not getting the chance to type in the pass key on the keyboard. If i type in a digit and press enter quickly before the pass key goes away then it will say unable to pair immediately after I press enter so it means the tablet is reading the keystrokes of the keyboard but I am unable to type in the correct pass key
Also I noticed that my tablet is not immediately detecting the keyboard. I have to press scan on the tablet a few times until the keyboard shows in available devices
I tried everything. I switched Bluetooth off then on and I even restarted the tablet. No luck. After many tries the pass key stayed showing long enough for me to successfully type in the pass key
Why did this happen to me?
