Hello All,
My Honor 8 screen is consistently timing out/locking while I am in the middle of using my phone. When it locks, it take about 10-35 seconds for it to recognize my fingerprint to unlock it again. I've played with the screen timeout settings yet nothing seems to work. Anyone experience this issue? Please advise, it's extremely annoying.

Maybe this is an issue with the power button?

if you are under warranty ,just send it to service . i also thought that is is button problem

guys i am in serious problem!
i'm unable to unlock my nexus and screen is blank black with a back light.
i am restarting the phone to access after every time the phone gets locked!
i'm fully on stock and nothing happened not even a faint fall or rough use. I wasn't using the phone from evening and this popped up..
initially i thought it was bricked but after restarting i'm able to access until the phone is locked..
please help ASAP

i did a factory reset and still the problem persist.. isn't it considered as a defect ??
It's clearly a software issue. Reflash might help.

i visited the service center today.. it was issue with hardware.. they replaced a flex board around the battery and the phone was normal again.. took 20mins max and no charges was levied as the phone was under warrenty..

Very strange, a hardware issue which temporarily disappears when you reboot. Oh well, luckily it's fixed now.

Sounds like the flex ribbon cable to the display had poor contact. Where do you live to get such quick service? Cheers!

yes exactly.. i live in bangalore..
I had prepared for two days waiting
but he had few repairable handsets and components in hand ready and pulled out one and repaired to mine instantly..
I'm on stock 5.0, flashed from factory image. When I lock the phone using the power button, face unlock works fine. But when I lock it using screen off and lock, face unlock does not work.
Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone know of a fix?

Yes, I came across this too. Probably has something to do with the app and how it locks the device. Or maybe Smart Lock only works when the power button is pressed. I don't know. But most likely just an app issue. Maybe a future update can fix it

There's a timeout on locking the phone (usually 5 seconds) so if you turn it on again it'll still unlock without security

That's what my application does it uses shell commands to emulate key press. Also it supports Google now swipe up gesture
Hello everyone. I just purchased a used mate 8 nxt-al10 for $100 Cad . The screen is shattered other than that it works great. The "fingerprint ID" isn't anywhere in the settings so I can't use the scanner. Any suggestions? Could it be the drop that broke the screen dislodged the ribbon cable for the scanner?
Any help would be awesome!

u can try and do a factory reset, see if that helps. other than that, anything is possible @internal damage...

I tried the factory reset and it still does not show up then I opened up the phone and the connector seems fine. Not sure what to do now. Maybe I should flash the international rom and see if that works?

Nope the cable looks to be in perfect shape. I'll post some pictures when I can but it looks good under the hood. Does your mate 8 have a small line on the scanner where it looks to be darker on the bottom?
Also random question is there a guide for flashing the international Rom with steps for beginners? Last time I rooted a phone was my nexus 5 3 years ago.
OK so I'm officially running kangvip slim b180.... And still no fingerprint ID in settings!!! I'm going to assume it's a hardware issue and order a new scanner. If anyone has any better ideas let me know.

Where do you get scanner from as mine has stopped working but a bit reluctant to send it back to China even though they was in touch straight away

Hello I used this website to order it. I haven't received it yet but it seems like a reliable source for parts.
Also when yours stopped working did it not show up in your settings anymore?? Knowing that would be a big help.

I'm using the FRD-L09 B386. I have been facing an issue for months. Sometimes unexpectedly while I'm using Instagram and Facebook the sound plays on my 2nd speaker or the one for calling instead of the main speaker. It gets fixed after rebooting. Anyone knows anything to fix it?
I've seen this issue in lots of forums and various device, do you have by any chance Xposed on your phone or YouMail app?!

There is this setting in EMUI called raise to ear. U can try and disable to see if it works.

No, it happens with many android devices (like galaxy s7 edge, note 3...etc)
So I think it's something related to android

Happened to me ,i also rebooted to solve this issue and also i clean flashed to get rid of the problem.
Every time I turn off the cellular phone the brightness from manual back to automatic,is a defect or is this normal?
It's not a bug, it's a feature!
That's a known issue with Huawei devices...
