I can't seem to get this to work anytime without holding down the top button. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the watch. I've tried factory resetting the watch. Nothing seems to work and "ok Google detection" is greyed out when you hold the button and scroll to the bottom. What am I not doing?
Is voice recognition available on the watch?

Hey guys. Is there a way to get CM11 to bring up Google Now when I press and hold the button on my wired headset from the locked screen?
I know the crappy voice dialer comes up but that gets wrong results all the time for me. I'd like google Now to come up ready to accept a command when I press and hold the headphone button.
Thanks!
Hey there, I'm coming from a Nexus 5 and I seem to be having some trouble with the Samsung Dailer. Basically, when I use my headset, and press the "mute" button it hangs up my calls. When using my Nexus 5, the same mute button on the same headset, mutes my voice.
I poked around in the Samsung dialer's setting and didn't see an option to set the button press to mute. Anyone else experience this problem? Thanks.
moot
I am running 8.0 OTA, bootloader is unlocked but not rooted. The volume up button was initially activating the google voice assistant. To try and stop this, I went into the Google App settings and under Voice>Hands-free I deactivated the "for wired headsets" and "for bluetooth devices" toggles. I also went into the Voice>"OK Google" detection and deactivated the "Say "OK Google" any time toggle. Now, if the screen is on, the volume up button works as expected, but if the screen is off, it just brings up the prompt to change the Google App settings again. Is there any way to fix this so that the volume up button always works for volume? Also, it would be ideal to be able to reactivate the "Say Ok Google any time" toggle, as I would like to be able to activate it from any screen, I just don't want it to activate from the headphone controls.
Thanks
I'm starting to think there's something wrong with the Pixel input jack. Mine stopped working completely, unless I was in safe mode. Then that stopped. Now if I use my higher end headphones, the inline control responds, speaker turns off like I'm using headphones, but every button is volume down and I have no sound. I'm attempting a reset with 8.0 and the stock image... but ya, I don't know if there's much you can do.
You get the option at the top to turn off the Bixby key, seemingly only the first time you open Bixby after updating
I turned it off and it still comes on by pressing the key so...
Bixby update is available in Galaxy App store
I got the update as well i do like the fact you can turn off the Bixby button because sometimes press it by mistake.

Thanks for the heads up! I disabled it, restarted and the bixby button doesn't do anything now! Perfect!
Package disable all bixby stuff. Disabling the button will continue having bixpy running in the background and using ram
Hope the developers of bxactions etc get the button remap to work with bixby button work boxy off, still like to have access to my camera through the button.

I've completely disabled bixby (single press & long press). The only way I can remind myself of this horrendous voice assistant is by resetting my default home launcher (it is Nova atm) and getting to bixby through the TouchWiz launcher.
Seems most people can only disable single press. What you have to do is go into bixby, hit settings, and disable bixby voice first. THEN disable bixby home launcher. Voila, your bixby button does nothing at all now.
Hope someone finds a way to make use of this button that is literally doing nothing now.
EDIT: ENABLE FLAWLESS GOOGLE ASSISTANT
After disabling bixby voice and bixby home, download bxactions and follow the steps in-app to enable "Control Mode". You'll need a PC to run a command, but the steps are super easy. Google assistant is flawless when pressing bixby button now. Couldn't be happier.
How are you guys turning off Bixby?? Is it done inside the app or grin settings?? I got it updated

Thanks I got it figured out. You've got to go thru the Bixby setup and it'll be up at the top. I've since got bx actions going in control mode and have that button mapped for Google assistant

I think it only works for Google assistant if I disable bixby voice (control mode) and try use bixby button for Camera I get a pop up saying I need to enable Bixby voice... hope developers can tweak things so all bixby functions can be disabled but the button can still be used for a range of actions (like camera).
Guess I need control mode... Because after disabling the button, nothing works
Cool, now i can turn this bixby thing off. Its annoying when accidentally pressed
Hello!
Recently, I was able to disable the Bixby button simply by clicking on the Bixby button, going to settings, and selecting the disable button option. That option appears to have vanished and I don't know how else to disable it now.
If anyone has seen this issue please let me know!
I can't help you with your problem but I use the Bixby remapper app and i changed it to open Google assistant. Pretty simple.
Watched the same thing today, searched tho whole internet but nobody seems to have the same problem?
I use BK Disabler. Try it, works really well!
I use bxActions from the Play store. Works great, even on the new Oreo builds.
You could just open the phone, cut the ribbon to that button....:cyclops:
Long press on any open home screen. Swipe right until getting you to Bixby home. Then turn off. You can also turn off her voice in settings on that page. And pressing button does nothing
Also there is apps in the play store to remap the button (no root) to do something else. Now my button for Bixby takes a SS.
Do it in the Bixby app. I disabled my button today in Bixby settings
